It’s not often that you get to see a car that looks evil. Christine is sexy, the Car is mean. The way the headlights are sunken in, the grille, it all works beautifully. The most infamous muscle car EVER in my book. Not even Christine could match The Car! A car built to destroy; indestructible body with massive steel bumpers, semi truck horn, powerful V8, and cool tires. The closest I could ever get to this in a video game is in GTA SA with the Invincible Car cheat, or doing the indestructible car glitch along with modding in GTA V, both with a black muscle car. Such a mean beast. It also partly inspires me a certain extremely powerful race car for a series of crossover stories I'm planning to create, with it being based on this car and Speed Racer's Mach 5, called the Black Thunder (or Mach 7).

Due to the film not having any VHS release, I had to wait until one night in 2003 the movie came on the graveyard shift on some free-to-air TV station (about a couple years later it hit cable TV movie station rotation. When I learnt that a DVD was being released, I bought it as soon as it appeared... The Car seems a little hokey for a regular horror flick but as an action thriller with horror elements in it, it absolutely rules its subgenre of horror. A great film for its time and still badass today.
