Update - my drum's rim broke for the second time and I have not been able to get Xymox to send me a new one despite 10 + emails over 4 months. Completely worthless company that I'd never buy anything from again. Do not give them your money.

Bought my Xymox tenor pad back in 2015. Xymox was exactly the same back then. They've been this way for years, and anyone who actually believes that they're willingly going to change without major consequences motivating them (like class-action lawsuit) is living under a rock. Niles Abel Friend of mine has been waiting a year...... Turns out the lady they had answering emails and such just decided to stop answering emails. Finally just a few days ago the company got back to him stating that she is no longer there and the “interruptions” should be taken care of. Looking forward to ordering one myself but will wait and see how his order is taken care of.

Yeah I find it awfully convenient that the only pad they seem to have shipped was yours despite not knowing you had a YT channel. My own xymox story. I bought their Ralph Hardimon pad way way back in 2006/07. It was a nice product that honestly lasted me until 2022 when the laminate began to deteriorate. I purchased a reserve ultra and actually got it in a reasonable time. It’s a great pad but even being indoors and not abused the screws that held there snare model in place tore right though the wood. I had beads slipping out and trying to prevent my son from eating any. I really liked the pad but the construction is shit. Not to mention I went to point this out to xymox and got nothing back from them. Got one of their quad pads too. Again. It actually came. No issues with it but apparently their tenor pads no longer come with cut out grooves for stand mount.

hi i just noticed something what are the two knobs on the snares the black knobs are they used to tight the snares or you don't touch them because i have to be really careful with it because i have a marching snare drum its the pearl competitor and its been giving me tons of problems so i just wanted to know what the black snare knob thingys are and the plastic thing makes the snare touch the head without making them tight and do you tune the snares or raise them im just curious because when i get mine i would like to know more without breaking it and can the head be super tight like a normal marching snare sorry to bother you again

@@zayguxpo007 idk if this comment was meant to be a joke, but if not then there are problems with your comment from multiple angles. 1 month is not a long wait whatsoever (even if we weren’t talking about the company with the worst customer service on Earth). A few years ago, Xymox was known to take at least 4-12 months to send out a pad. THAT’S why people make so many videos and comments about their horrendous wait times; not because they had to wait through a quarter of a winter😂 And despite how terrible they are at running their business, Xymox has absolutely nothing to do with the time of day that your package arrives, so idk why you threw that part in there. It’s not like they bribed a fedex or usps employee to work overnight to deliver your package lmao. Just to be clear, I’m not trying to be rude to you or defend Xymox at all; I’m just saying that it sounds like you had the best experience out of any customer they’ve ever had

I think their problem was that they were trying to mass produce a single selection drum pad yet they also had the custom drum pad which started overloading them in away because I know I ordered a simple black pub with the brass nuts on it and it took them two years

Can you do a review on the RCP snare drum pad? It looks very similar to the xymox and they say that it usually takes 4 days to receive the pad so I would love to hear about how they compare. I've sent 13 emails over several months. They is not a more worthless company on the planet. And I really don't think the drums are designed to be able to hold marching snare tensions as they say they are.

(UPDATE: Never got an email about any ship date or anything. Yet another broken promise and still waiting after an entire year, Job well done. ) I had grown so frustrated with the fact that I never had a drum in my hand for almost a year, so much that I went ahead and bought a Yamaha SFZ snare which also took so long to come in, I ordered it in March and was notified that it was on back order and I was lied to at least 5 times by musicians friend and Yamaha themselves about when I was getting it, they kept changing their dates a bunch and I was shocked as to why this was happening to me with yet another music company especially with a huge one. They took so damn long to the point that I can’t even afford it anymore as I’m a college student getting ready to get my own place next month, so I cancelled the snare and asked for a refund. Keep in mind it never came in so I waited since March for practically nothing at all. It really seems like life doesn’t want me having my very own marching snare for whatever reason which is strange yet just ironic.

I do hope the more bad stories there are to these kind of companies the more people will choose and prioritize the companies who actually can deliver. People should ask for a refund after the first initial month have past. I don't care how hard it is to produce - it's not like they're building a car or a violin to a billion dollars. If refund isn't an option I would even dare to even think about their products... scammers.

Seems as though nothing has changed with xyomox. 11 years ago I ordered just a basic pad from them and to be honest I think that was the only pad they sold aside from the tenor pad. But it took almost 6 months for it to arrive. I never received emails or phone calls back about my order or why it was taking so long. When it arrived it look poorly put together. I tried calling and emailing to express how disappointed I was with the craftsmanship and the fact that it took so long and never got any replies. I took to KZbin and wrote negative comments on their videos. I then got a VERY angry phone call from the owner one Saturday afternoon asking why I was bashing his company. He apologized over an email a few days later offering to send me out a free pad. Lol it seems like the company is still ran by only a few people and no vision of growing.

Also whatever you do don't tighten this thing like a normal snare it definitely cannot handle even close to the tension. I put moderate tension on mine and the bottom rim snapped. Its plastic so I had a feeling it was going to happen. That said you can get a moderately good tone from going at a mid tension. Other than that the product is cool. I'm hoping mine was just defective.

Citrusenze dude I did and even offered to work free to help get these hybrids out and I wanted to drop off a few pairs of my signiture vic Firth sticks to them directly but nobody answere I can’t wait more importantly I believe to a young kid the amount of wait time could mess with there desire to practice because you know when your a kid and you see something cool you want it in your hands ASAP before that fire might just burn out and they loose interest in drumming and pick up a shinny saxophone,, not that there’s anything wrong with learning to play a saxophone but it’s a crucial time frame that gets used up waiting for it and it never comes , 2019 worlds fastest drummer pasic

Bro, in all honesty I would have just bought a griffin popcorn snare drum cuz they're like $40. Yes they're cheap to get, but you have a nice sounding and snappy snare drum and I'm pretty sure it cost way less than what you had to pay for that hybrid snare drum. But, I also understand that you want to do a review on it and see what it sounds like and give everybody an idea for how they sound so props and good job to that. It's bad enough that they don't get good reviews because they refuse to give people their orders. I definitely wouldn't buy from them.

Im impressed that even after 10 years - Xymox is even worse at customer service and delivery. I assume you even live in USA. You have a lot longer waiting time than I had to Europe with a(at that time possible) table. I think I waited max 6-8 months. So.... a whole year for a tiny drum? I mean it’s only about time before some one just beats Xymox in terms of customer service/Product delivery and probably better consistency product quality wise. I mean. Really. Even after all this time. Xymox needs to expand and hire more people if they want to stay competitive. At this point there are too many bad stories to tell about Xymox.

@@SnareMan One would think it's an easy thing to fix. It's not even a product development. I think they are losing a lot of customers, just by the statistics of their customer service history. I'd rather order Offworld Percussion Pads - It just doesnt make sense to wait a whole year for a product. It's not like I would say they produce "the best drum pads on the market". And if it's down to "real feel" - I could order from Rudimental Drummers or from Drumslinger Percussion. Especially because I know I wouldn't have to wait 365 days for delivery. Customization is just not that important. It's fun, yes - but only fun to watch.
