Sauteed garlic and oil broccoli rabe is probably my favorite Italian side dish. All you need is fresh broccoli rabe (rapini), garlic, chili flakes, olive oil, and about 15 minutes. Definitely try it out with chicken cutlets and cherry peppers as I did at the end. I hope you enjoy and learn how to cook broccoli rabe!

Sir i've taken the mantle as the full time cook of the household now that my wonderful better half is disabled and not able to cook... i absolutely love the food you cook but what is so good is your manner your ability to explain and allow for the real world adding of seasoning and cooking methods 'don't worry it'll be fine'. I was always able to dabble but your recipes have pushed my envelope of experience and i'm not worried that ill get it wrong with expensive ingredients... thank you so much

the best food is everyday food. i do rabe similarly but instead of steam and saute, i saute first in a deeper pan and then quench/deglaze with a sweet riesling or something similar, optional but it adds a touch of acid and sweetness and completes cooking with an intense burst of steam. i finish with toasted pine nuts and usually serve tossed with pasta and pecorino. your variation looks great, but big takeaway for me is your twice-cooked whole lightly browned garlic cloves, very wine-friendly and will probably make it into my next prep of a number of things. thank you for all your work making these excellent videos

@@SipandFeast I enjoy all your videos. Some recipes I know how to make, while others I don’t but want to learn them. Your recipes and style of cooking takes me back to my roots back on LI. My Grandma (Dad’s mother) taught my Mom a lot. She was 💯 % Austrian. Dad was 💯 % Italian. Mom learned a lot, so between her and my Grandma and my aunt (Dad’s sister), much of the tradition was passed down. That doesn’t seem to matter to many today, but it does to me and my boys. My younger son can cook on par with me already, and he’s only been cooking a few years. I don’t mind getting a break. I’m never disappointed with his efforts or results. Thanks for what you do. I’ll be joining your Patreon account in the near future. 😉👍🏻🇮🇹🇺🇸🍝🍷

I plan to do most of my Patreon content with my daughter. She is also a great cook for her age. But, letting her cook means she leaves a lot of dishes for me. Hi - I make this all the time - almost exactly the same but i cut more of stalk off and if they are large - slit them so they could more easily - also use chicken stock instead of water /helps cut the bitterness... you can also add a squirt of tomato paste with the broth if you like :) - enjoying all your vids! keep em coming!

It's a Mediterranean Cuisine CRIME to toss the Flavorful Liquid down the drain! Use it to Deglaze your hot pan. Add a little EVOO it's a Delicious Dipping Sauce for crusty bread

I'm going to look for broccoli rabe and try this one. I love the way you cooked the garlic. I could eat it that way all day 😜.

I cook the same way using the whole garlic, and I hardly bother with measurements. I feel like it's much harder to burn the garlic that way and more flavorful. Thanks, I subbed!

Thanks! I change up every now and then, but for veggies like this I prefer the whole garlic cloves. Appreciate the sub.

Can't say I've ever seen this type of broccoli here in England - we have broccoli but not with the leaves as shown, I guess it's the flowering type? - but will start to look out for it where I can. Really like your videos, you really deserve to have MANY more subscribers than you have

I like the technique of pausing and removing the garlic. Also removing the water. Many people overcook this simple dish
