That's the nicest looking scoop I've ever seen but shipping to USA is about $50. Get them to the stores here so we can save some money on shipping cost. *Edit, got my pre-order in. Now we wait.

An update regarding the carbon fiber handle that broke. DetectEd is replacing the handle and providing an insert to help stiffen the handle. They just replied to my email of the other day and I am very grateful. The scoop is bulletproof and unlike titanium scoops is easy to repair should it need it. I think this scoop could do very well in the states as it's a great value. I hope someone will carry them in the near future.

Nice video. What is the weight on scoop and the handle? And many here in Europe and other places in the World want to have a handle to take apart for travel to have in a suitcase. Can it be arranged?
@USANAK2 ай бұрын
I'm based in Queensland and thinking of buying this or the SITO. This presentation of the features and benefits of the Detect-Ed scoop is excellent. However, disappointing to see that they do not appear to be bothering to answer questions asked in the comments section. Come on guys! Lift your game and capitalize on the interest.

I am buying one. I live in the U.S. in the PNW. Our high mountain lakes have beaches but not fine sand. Course sand and rocks. The beaches are very active. I need another version of this with a scoop handle when I am snorkeling with my Equinox 800

Strongly considering. How is it in dry sand and how does it compare to ckg or titanium scoops? Thx!
@BRatiganАй бұрын
It is excellent in dry sand and slightly wet sand. I can't compare the other scoops as I haven't owned one of those. My best detector buddies use the T-rex scoop which is wider but heavier.

My understanding is that the Clasps that retain the shovel and handle often come loose, they need to improve that retention clip. Not answering or perhaps even monitoring this videos comments is a bit disconcerting too. Otherwise I am in the USA and would buy this on my trip down under or I would order it. I love the concept!

@@OdinsCloud the clasps are not ss and they rust but replace with ss clasps and your good.
@OdinsCloudАй бұрын
@@BRatigan Why would the clasps not be stainless?? Wow. How hard is it finding clasps that fit?
@BRatiganАй бұрын
@@OdinsCloud not sure why they provided plated clasps. SS clasps re easily attainable through Amazon, eBay, locally etc. The clasps never came loose even one time, they are solid but rust.

@@BRatigan That's great information. Thank you for that, you are really the only one providing it. A bit surprised why the manufacturer does not respond to anyone.

Still waiting for my scoop. It's been 9 days since shipping out of Australia, hasn't cleared yet in NYC. None to be found stateside yet, who knows what the future holds. It looks to be the solution for our Florida beaches, and I like the rivet, weld design. I weld, so repairs should they be needed would be a cinch. I like the idea of 2MM thick stainless and with 304 stainless it's important to rinse off your scoop with fresh water after a session of saltwater use (longevity). It looks to have been engineered very well, can't wait to start use.

Wouldn't 316L be a better choice? Maybe there is a reason why not?
@BRatiganАй бұрын
@@OdinsCloud yes 316 is best for tropical environments and yet this scoop has zero rust or corrosion. The handle snapped off two days ago because of intense heavy use. I have a backup handle. Their carbon fiber handle is fine but the bottom 12 inches needs to be solid carbon or filled with an inert material and it would last forever.

@BRatiganАй бұрын
Yes, but most people won't pay the hefty price for one. The above scoop is bulletproof so far after extreme 3 months of use in heavy wet sand and shells. The handle didn't fare as well but I think that's to be expected with a hollow CF handle. Reinforced with a solid insert of inert material at the scoop end would fix that problem.

@@rdk162 I have a Minelab Manticore and can afford any scoop made. I don't use that as a criteria. You seem just to favor the Extreme scoop and that's fine but to suggest that this scoop is garbage is just ignorant and it doesn't help anyone, so I wonder just what purpose you actually serve here.
