I don't hate the Supergirl show as much as everyone else does, but then again, I never read the comics. But people who have like Moth's Audio and Video prefer her pre-52 portrayal, so I guess it's not an inherently bad portrayal. Point is, between the tone deaf virtue signaling and even cringier fandom shipping, there were moments I loved like Martian Manhunter's reveal or Kara talking down a robber without her powers.

@@featherguardian6023 Season 4 was honestly the best season of the show with Dreamer becoming a new favorite character who I'm gonna miss after her appearance on The Flash. And Jon Cryer became one of my favorite Lex Luthor portrayals. And his master plan was another great reveal! I've only seen the whole show once when it was airing so I'm probably looking at it through rose colored glasses but even with the show slowly declining after that season, it's far from the worst show ever made. Tho, I'm still pissed at Legends getting cancelled without a proper conclusion, especially when The Flash wasting its' final season on meaningless filler episodes instead of making one more crossover where they resolve the Legends cliffhanger and the Mia/William storyline. Legends should've been the final Arrowverse show instead. Screw Eric Wallace AND The CW.

I watched this movie when it was available digitally and it's easily in my top 3 of the Tomorrowverse👍 I'm really enjoying this new set/continuity of animated movies. Though I haven't watched the JSA War World II movie yet (I really need to get on that) and yes, the GL movie is the weak of the bunch. Man of Tomorrow, The Long Halloween (parts 1 and 2) and LOSH are all excellent imo. And I'm looking forward to more movies like these. While the DC live action universe is a disaster, DC animation continues winning and doesn't disappoint. And I'm so happy about that because I grew up watching and Loving DC cartoons, not DC live actions. I have a few favorites, sure. But DC animation will always be better. I really liked this Supergirl A LOT. And I loved the development between her and Brainiac 5. Honestly, it's been a really long time since I watched a rivals to lovers story that I actually care about And this one did. Both characters are great, the performances perfect, they had very badass scenes together and against each other, and the romantic/cute moments between them are very solid. I'd like to see more of this couple in a future movie, ngl. I hate Mon El, period. I never liked his character and I'm glad he got his ass kicked. I was surprised by the Legion's trainees. They really got their moment to shine and it was great. I'm very much looking forward to the next movie.

I thought the scene where she’s assuming the mall directory will be automated was really forced. Same thing with telling the dude to have his servant robots build him a new home. Or knocking over a giant concrete thing on accident. She’s already been there for months, she’d be ripping clothes and stuff if she really couldn’t control her power at all, and she should have a much better understanding of where technology is at on the planet for her to be as frustrated as she is at the point where Superman takes her to the future. Like, it felt as though the first half had good moments that didn’t really make sense for them to be happening WHEN they happened chronologically. On a separate note, I thought the body horror was pretty intense and very creeepy. 10/10. And I love the Tomorrowverse’s aesthetic and animation style a lot more than I liked the new 52 animated universe. The backgrounds just seem higher quality and I like the sleeker character models, and the faces are all more realistic and less stylized.

I just watched this movie today, and I must admit, it wasn't half bad. This portrayal of Supergirls' character has definitely been one of the best ones so far. But, i felt the ending had a rushed feeling to it somehow, like there was more story to tell. Hopefully, a sequel to this is in the pipeline or failing that, an appearance in other DC instalments.

Supergirls don't cry. I don't want to be negative here or try and say "you're wrong," I'm glad you and so many others liked this movie because Legion really needs more love and attention. But, as someone who familiar with Legion lore and the characters... I found this movie to be somewhat lacking. I found how a lot of the (Legion)characters acted to be odd to say the least, the idea that Triplicategirl, Phantomgirl, *and* Bouncingboy are, not only not in the Legion yet(even though it's implied the Legion has been around for quite some time already), but not even wanted by the Substitutes? Who wrote this?? Not to mention the weird continuity with how high tech the Legion is *without* Brainy being part of their team yet, *even though* the whole reason the Legion is supposed to have impossibly high tech is *because* of Brainiac 5. This isn't technically completely necessary, but it still feels wrong. So it's just clear that they just wanted to use the typical arch types of a school drama and force these already existing characters in them, which wouldn't be horrible except the fact that they don't work with the characters. They make Triplacategirl a brat and completely ignore her empathetic nature. Phantomgirl is now shy for some reason when she's supposed to be the spunky jokester. I could keep going but I'll stop there. Also, they make Mon-El a traitor when like...Nemesiskid is right there for them to use. So that was my take on the movie, thanks for reading.

My favorite version of Supergirl which this one is based upon is Post Crisis from the comics. The comic excels and is most entertaining when it focuses on relationships and character development. Kara starts off hotheaded, insecure and jealous of Superman's popularity while resenting his tutoring. But over the course the comics she becomes a more confident heroine who still makes mistakes, but is a better hero overall since she no longer needs Superman or others to keep her from misbehaving as she keeps herself in check lol. A big deal considering her powers.

I don't know if it's a hot take but I think only this and the injustice supergirl feel like an actual logically thinking supergirl in any form of dc media. In anyother project(even comics) supergirl is shown to be stupidly rude, she hates men for some reason, and the writers always make her too strong, like she defeated superman in the CW show, this doesn't make the character likeable, it makes her annoying. But this one out here losing to a batman villain really shows potential for growth, And this made Solomon Grundy feel like a star

I'm surprised you didn't see the romance coming. I flagged it a mile away & was mostly wondering how they would deal with Mon El. Can't say I was expecting how they dealt with Mon El. Anyway, I thought I might be biased because of the DCAU episode, but I looked online, & from what I read, Brainiac-5 IS her most common love interest. I was kind of dreading it at first because I didn't really like this version of Brainiac-5, but they won me over in that scene where admits that his plan wasn't rational at all, & the only reason he did it is because he wanted people to like him but he just doesn't understand how to make that happen. It recontextualizes why he's always going on about his 12th Level Intellect: In his mind, he's leading with his best quality, but he can't see how that makes him seem like an annoying snob. Really great characterization, & I love how it carries through into the introduction to Superman, where he's so nervous & uptight & she's bragging about how smart her new boyfriend is. That was really cute.

Re "whatever the hell this is": oh that? That's Supergirl! ....really! ........no, really! Strictly speaking that's Proty, a protoplasmic shapshifting mascot of the Legion (with a tearjerking final entry in the original 60s canon btw), but when the canon rebooted after Crisis on Infinite Earths, for MANY real-world years, the only Supergirl in canon was a repurposed version of the Proty character who fell in love with Lex Luthor strapping young brain-swapped clone before she learned he was actually still evil, and then was turned into a half-fallen angel by Peter David. She was still around when Kara-El was finally reintroduced into continuity (I think), but I don't know where she is now. Probably non-existent? -- we've had at least three continuity reboots since then.

Seeing much criticism about that new animation style n seriously can't understand what's ppl's issue with it (of course they mostly just hate, without ever saying what they hate about it). My guess is that they r from both,fans of the dcau style as well as those of the newer "new 52" style n both r unable or unwilling to view their prefered more criticle cuz then should b a perfect compromise of both like they do it now. I love the dcau style but would lie if i say that it seemed cheap when it hadn't evolve much after ten years or more. It was vey simply done out of necessaty when it had to be done by hand almost completely. That excuse is not good enough nowadays. On the otherhand i'd have to lie if i say not to miss some of this certain elegance of it in the later style that looks like they forgot aboutthe possibility to draw lines n shapes round n curvy. Now, in my eyes they have pretty much the optimal combinazion of both, so with a lil' self honesty, there really should b reason for happiness in both camps. I hope that gets better with time, so ppl get more used to it n we get to see it executed in more settings, since that also lets styles shine more or less sometimes.

I did not like this movie, but if there's anything I can compliment, it's the performances. I think this movie's script is a fucking mess, and the way characters talk about scenes that just happened and contradict what we as the audience just saw for no apparent reason made me so frustrated because it didn't feel like character error, just bad writing. But seriously, I want every single one of these VAs to come back because they all did a great job.

Don't hate on the Snyderverse. It was the most creative universe of it's era and nobody can top it. They all want it gone, but it'll never go anywhere because that's Snyder's creation and nobody can reboot over it. It was the true Superman was made into the real Supergirl of his time. Supe's will return as well once Snyder is ready to direct Justice League 2 and 3 and hopefully the Ayer Cut of the Suicide Squad. Get Gunn mad at the Snyder fans.
