Part of the reason other reactors pause in the songs is because they are reacting to videos, rather than just audio -- and with videos, if you just play it straight through, the video will get blocked.

@@CycolacFan So much of the effect of a song is lost when it's stopped every 10-30 seconds. Music is meant to be listened to all at once. Pausing it so often to add in commentary is like splitting up a movie by watching ten minutes a day over the course of a week and a half. You aren't able to immerse yourself in the media.
@Doggeslife Жыл бұрын
MOST I confront about pausing say they interrupt the song to keep it from getting blocked. That doesn't work. If the algorithms detect 3 seconds of Beatles then it will get blocked. It's too bad you didn't play the live version. It's one of the most amazing performances you'll ever witness. It's like they took you to church! That's just one of the reasons they outsold every performer and group from 1969 to 1974. And this choice of a song written by the great Laura Nyro was perfect for them. Another great song they did was the Harry Nilsson penned tune "One" which was sung solo by Chuck in 1969. He really showcased his amazing vocal range.

You guys should give Blood, Sweat & Tears a listen... talk about masterful vocals, and a horn section that blows Chicago's out of the water.

"Eli's Coming" was a top #10 hit from 1969. The same year they two even bigger hits, "One" and "Easy To Be Hard" (the Broadway play "Hair").

You need to hear ‘One’. Probably their second biggest hit after ‘Joy to the World’. And also ‘Easy to be Hard’. Both great songs. To think you were unaware of this band not long ago.

“The devil’s work” indeed! Well said! Early TDG is incredibly soulful. This album, and their first “One” album (first album I ever bought). You MUST listen to their cover of “Try A Little Tenderness”, sung by the late, great Cory Wells. Go for it! 😎🎶❤

Three Dog Night's covers are a freaking gold mine: Joy To The World (A), Easy To Be Hard (A-), Family Of Man (B), Old Fashioned Love Song (A-), Shambala (A-), Let Me Serenade You (B), Never Been To Spain (A-), Black And White (A), Liar (B+), Out In The Country (S, my mellow fave), One Man Band (B+), One (A+), and Celebrate (A-)!

Yes! Easy To Be Hard from the musical Hair is a must; vocally and lyrically powerful and as relevant today as it was in the '60s.

"Eli's Coming" is definitely one of Three Dog Night's great songs but I like all of them. Some other favorites are "One", "Just An Old fashioned Love Song", "Try A Little Tenderness", "Easy To Be Hard", "The Show Must Go On", "Black & White", "Out In The Country", "Liar" etc.

I will always remember where I was when released. A hot July working in a family owned pizza bar s of Chicago as a 10 year old. No AC & ovens blasting. Working till 2am for a free pizza. Best times as a kid. Wish everyone could have been there. Not sure why I was allowed but now replicate that pizza to this day. Sam's anyone ?
