If you're on a fantasy with murder mystery kick, I'd recommend checking out 'The angel of the crows' by Katherine Addison. It's basically a Sherlock Holmes remix, but with angels, demons and all the typical beasties inhabiting the Victorian-era London. It's really fun, you get multiple Sherlockian mysteries through the story and the characters are truly endearing.

Love the video! If you need murder mystery recs, I have so so many... 😋 Royal Assassin is one of my favourite ever books. Currently on The Golden Fool and I'm reading it slowly because I never want the series to end. The characters are so real to me.

I am reading Tainted Cup next month, can't wait. I just finished The Last Phi Hunter by Salinee Goldenberg and it was a lot of fun!

If you love the Tainted Cup, you’d love both the City of Stairs (which has a murder investigation) and Foundryside (which has a magical heist with a really cool unique magic system that’s got cyberpunk elements)

The Balde Itself is really good. I liked it a lot. I'm planning to read the second and third book in August. My favorite book so far is hard, so i'll give you 3: The Grace of Kings by Ken Liu, About a Gnome by Jeff McIntyre (a prequel short story to The Garden Gnome, which was one of my favorite books of 2023) and Castle in the Stars by Alex Alice (a historical sci-fi comic with absolutely stunning art work)

I feel like this is an unpopular opinion, but I’m struggling with Stormlight Archive, halfway through Rhythm of War and I’m bored. I love thé rest of his works, but just really struggle with Stormlight. And I love big books (Malazan - looking at you) I loved both Tainted Cup and Silverblood Promise! I’m not sure if I can pick between my new favourite author of either Matt dinnimon or Robert Jackson Bennett

If you love Robert Jackson Bennett you might want to pick up his debut novel, a horror outing called Mr. Shivers. I loved it.

The Fallout series was fantastic! They built the world so well, it really captures the feeling of the games and there are still so many Easter eggs from the games which casual viewers might not catch 😊 but the series absolutely still stands on its own for viewers who have never played

Your comments on Hobbs/Fitz highlight why I struggle with that series, ultimately DNF'ing it: I just can't get into the book when I have such low regard for Fitz, the MC. How do you keep making such bad decisions over and over? It was such a struggle to read, and about half way through book 2 just gave up.
