This "no-hands" advice is pure gold to me. I've been a "handsy" player for a long time and it's been very difficult to stay consistent. Thanks for the kick in the @$$! I look forward to much more consistent ball striking and better scores this season. Love your teaching style, too! Simple, honest, and practical. Keep up the great work!

Really glad you posted this video. I've been really struggling my last 3-4 times out, and a good friend of mine said he's thinking it has to be something with my hands thats causing me to struggle the way I am. This video couldn't have come at a better time! Lefty Struggle is REAL!

I’ve been so close to shooting par this year, but just never could quite make it happen. Today I was having some trouble on the first few holes and suddenly remembered this video from yesterday and it really helped me to be more consistent. Might lose a few yards, but accuracy was so much better. I finally met my goal and actually surpassed it with a 2 under par. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and keep up the great work!

I had a sever case of the shank's and this vid put me right back on track! There's a lot of golf tutorial content on youtube but yours is by far the most helpful for the average person. Most tour pro's understand the golf swing well but they don't understand how people interpret their lessons. They will give a long lecture on where the right elbow should be, what the left wrist should do, etc, etc and most people over exaggerate these motions and concentrate too much on a minute part of the golf swing, further exacerbating their own swing problems. You explain the information in a way that is so simple and direct people have a much smaller chance of interpreting it in a way that creates swing flaws. Thanks for all the awesome content!

Great advice as usual! Absolutely become anti hands; get the feeling of holding back the release of the hands; and lastly secure the Vs pointing at the trail shoulder just as Arnold Palme told us years ago to in order to have the club head at the perfect angle with our spine at takeaway. And lastly remember to always accelerate our club through the ball as our body rotates to its finish. Cheers

Danny Maude has video showing the same thing with the club face being parallel to the spine tilt on the back swing and on the follow through. I have been hooking the ball this year and I think it's from too much hands.

Such a simple thing to fall back on. All I have to remember is hands back straight (helps me from breaking my left arm too)...and bring my hands up to around my ear. This has been, by far, the single most valuable suggestion that I've added to my swing. In the span of 2 hours, I started hitting pure shots and probably added 30 yards to most of my irons. The exception is my 3 iron. I can hit my 5 iron about 200 but I can't get my 3 iron to go any further than that. Your tips are the easiest to integrate in practice, keep them coming!

I'm late to to the party, but my best rounds of golf last year, were due to not using my hands to rotate the club. My irons and wedges were spot on, and I improved my GIR too. It's true, if you're a pro and all you do is practice, you can use your hands all you want, but for the rest of us...we gotta settle them puppies down! Love the energy you bring to all your videos. I'm less than a 5 handicap and I still go back and forth on hand/wrist rotation. Rotating feels so much more comfortable when I get to the top of my backswing so sometimes I'll play for a whole month with that swing when I find the groove of it. But every time I eventually lose it and I get inconsistent and have to go back to the Jason Day vibe, which feels really weird but damn that simple circular motion gets the ball way up into the air and like he said- really narrows down how much you miss your target by. I usually have a draw and miss left with my hand-rotation swing but with no hands it's dead straight zero spin. It's really good stuff but still feels weird to me.

I have a question about strength and how it relates to a left or right handed golf swing. Im a right hand dominant person, but have always played golf, hockey, and batted left because it felt most natural. however, other coordinated left handed movements like throwing feels completely foreign and the general strength of my left side feels a lot weaker than my right side. Does a left handed golfer not get the most out of his swing if he's generally weaker from his left side? Same thing I've seen drills where you swing with the left hand with say a pitching wedge but that doesn't feel natural. It's the motion that feels more natural swinging left. Thanks

Excellent advice, i have done this exact thing and it has helped me so much. I used to roll the wrists and therefore the face would end up wide open. I feel that for a right handed golfer that the back of your left hand faces the ground on the takeaway (almost flexing my wrist slighty to exaggerate the feeling), at the top my wrist are flatter (not cupped and open) and I then need to use my body more (open up more - hips/shoulders) to hit the ball straight due to the clubface changes. The quality of strike is the proof in the pudding as they say..
