SILENCE do not respond or engage more than you need. Silence kills them. And not in a way like they love. In a way, if they lost somebody to abuse and control.

I'm a caregiver to an older narcissist (90s) and he loves to push my buttons. I let most stuff go with no response or comment. But TODAY I was trying to tell him something important and as usual he talked over me. I got silent, looked at him pointedly and said loudly MAY I CONTINUE NOW. It wasn't a question and he did shut up and back off. I'd say he hit the wall of my soup can 😁

Don't Say a Word. Total shut off. No more Interaction Verbally if you see them and they try and talk to you. Nothing. Go about your business.

You nailed my 50 year old son completely. I’m no contact & will stay that way for the rest of my life. I’m so done with the games. Only bad part, he keeps our 11 year old granddaughter away from us. She’s completely under his wicked bullying control.

I’m so sorry you are experiencing this.

You must report this bullying of the minor, it is legal obligation.

This has helped me soooo much! The jello boundaries was hard to hear but I needed to hear it. The roleplaying was especially helpful to me and will be life changing for me and my relatives who escaped the narcissist so I cannot thank you enough for that. Have been reading about narcissists for 13 years but have not seen it explained this clearly or helpfully. Thanks so much.

Glad it helped!

Appreciate the metaphors. They are relatable. Seems as though it's important for people to come to an understanding/self-awareness of what type of soup they are and to see their value. Chicken Noodle comes to mind. 😀

The female older relatives and. Their disgusting grown up daughters were always observed after hearing the stories of anyone, by using this response...your story reminds me of when I....or ...enough about you.. where was I. It's so much fun to watch people trying to get away from them or deliberately attempting to talk to someone else which always results in shame and rage with the phrase... aren't I important enough
