I love Flemish Giant Rabbits. Female rabbits stay away from their babies so they don't attract animals that would want to eat their babies to the nest.

The double chins are called dewlaps if I remember right! It typically forms when the female begins producing litters. The bigger they are, the funnier it looks! So cute.

I got a Britannia Petite as a gift. I never had this breed. I had a Netherland. Netherland are more easy and laid back bunnies. But the petite for my experience is bad bunny. He makes holes on my walls, removes the paint. He is not much for being petted. He is very smart though; he has learned to beg for food just like my dog. But he really is not the sweet lovable bunny. He grunts and bites you if you try to hold him. He just wants to be left alone to roam and be free. Which I do but with a-lot of supervision. I thought small bunny equals big cuddle time. Not at all. Now I know big bunnies are more for cuddles.
@m.nic.50802 жыл бұрын
Brittania Petites are full arch/running breeds which basically means they’re the rabbit equivalent of a Border Collie. They need a lot of exercise and mental stimulation and can get neurotic if not given it.

About the virus in rabbits, please if your thinking of getting a rabbit get all its vaccinations done. Rhvd1 and rhvd2 aswell as myxomatosis are rampant rabbit killing virus and are almost impossible to see coming. My girl poppy died from rhvd1 2 years ago. She was late having her vaccinations by a couple of days. One minute she was happily running around and the next she was dead. I’m super lucky my other 3 rabbits didn’t die aswell which is normally what happens. I had to throw away everything’s poppy had been in contact with and buy a cleaning solution to spray down all cages. Poppy then had to be cremated because with rhvd1 and 2 you can’t bury them in your garden as the virus will still be alive in the soil and could then spread to new rabbits. It’s advised that after a rabbit dies from rhvd1 and 2 that you go into a 4 month lockdown with no new rabbit and to not get in contact with someone else’s rabbits for 4 months either. Also I’ll just add another thing about rabbit…please please neuter and spay! Especially spay females as they are super prone to uterus infections and cancer 💜

@gwladyspompiere58862 жыл бұрын
Rabbit are not really sensitive about cold, they can live with low tempeture and snow. Just be carefull about their feet, they don't have pads.
@ShieniLicksOnLemons2 жыл бұрын
Rabbits are actually better suited for cold environments, they can live outside year-round in Finland too without issues as long as they have spent the majority of their time outdoors building up their cold resistance and growing their fur. But this doesn't mean that their care would be easy, there is an unfortunate number of people who get rabbits just because they think it's so nice and practical that the rabbit is out of sight and out of mind outside...
@gwladyspompiere58862 жыл бұрын
@@ShieniLicksOnLemons this is true. I am a vet technician in an exotic animal hospital and most people get rabbits because they're cute. My best advice is to do some research first before taking an animal!.

breeding is such a disgusting practice.. why would you support this? You could have made an educational video without giving recognition to this facility. Even if they aren’t going to be used for meat, which some will surely be, there are already so many domesticated rabbits that have been abandoned and need homes. We don’t need these people adding to the problem
@steffj2 жыл бұрын
RESPONSIBLE breeding is what I support. This place is registered and regulated, and their breeding is ethical. This video is not to be considered educational btw, I’m just sharing the knowledge I was passed on when I was given the tour 🙂 Btw, domestic rabbit overpopulation is a problem in the US, not all countries, not here. This rabbit breed is actually very rare here.
@nicoleerlo31592 жыл бұрын
@@steffj responsible? Do you have any knowledge on rabbits? They are in wire bottom cages that are way too small, HANGING FROM THE WALLS. Where is the unlimited supply of hay? Are they even allowed to come out of their prisons for more than a few minutes? You think they are all getting the required exercise and space that they need? And you call yourself an animal lover. I’ve been subscribed for years, but this actually made me sick to my stomach. I’m starting to realize the things that actually matter to you. Support what you want, but don’t call them responsible. you make people think rabbits are meant to be treated this way. At least educate yourself
