I like the designs of the alien mothership in Atlantis episode "The Daedalus Variations" and the Nakai mothership from universe, though I think both are comparable in size to the BC-304. As for this list, Anubis' mothership is the coolest looking especially when it was firing its main weapon while the O'Neill class is the sleekest.

If you want to do the math, you can see how large the Bridge windows are on the Daedalus compared to say RDA. Next you measure how many windows long the ship is.

Simplified math to work out a functional solution, I like it!

Or just look at the 26m wide F302 exiting the hangar bay, meaning the hangar/engine pods are roughly 80m wide, the main body is roughly the same width as a pod, and the remaining space (between pods and main body) is about 40m each side, so the total width is roughly 320m. And the total length is roughly twice the width!
@jacara1981Ай бұрын
@@glenr7393 Yup but theres some contention of the size of the F302, as 26m would put it 3 times as wide as a Puddlejumper is long. But whenever we see close up of people in it then compare that to the action shots it cant be nearly that big.
@joemck74Ай бұрын
You missed that big cool green ship that looked like a cross between a D'deridex and a ferengi ship. In the episode where Carter is stuck alone in a nebula. That was a wicked looking ship.
@SchneeflockeMonsoonАй бұрын
Given the roles of the ships, as well as the in-universe evidence given, I’ve always held the the 303 works well at 195 m long, as it was very much a proof of concept, and how it interacts with the other ships of its era does support that. The 304 meanwhile has two massive hanger bays which (when seen from the inside) look like the hangar decks of modern day aircraft carriers. Comparing those to the given pods on either size, it lines up precisely with one of the estimates given by the showrunners early on: 650 m. This also makes sense given its role as the proper frontline battlecruiser the Tau’ri would be using for the rest of their run. It also (interestingly) means the hyperspace pods build onto the Prometheus are the same size as the smaller hyperspace engines the Daedalus is equipped with near the center.

I was under the impression those Asuran cruisers were actually frigates. Didn't know they were that big. Still pissed that nobody stole some Auroras from Asuras before the planet blew

I PERSONALLY BELIEVE, that my darling 304's are 605 meters long. It makes more sense scale wise.
@robertdrexel2043Ай бұрын
Agreed! With the Prometheus being somewhere around 515 meters in length.
@tyrannicpuppyАй бұрын
Agree 100%. If we take the wingspan given for the F-302 in this very video of 26.17m, it couldn't fit in the hangar bay on BC-304 if the 304 was only 225m. That would make them only 95m wide, so each hangar bay would be maybe 25-30m wide absolute tops. We've seen inside of them (best example being SGAs The Intruder) and there are two rows of 302s along each side with enough space down the middle for another to launch with clearance from all the docked ships. Each hangar should be about 90m wide minimum in order to fit three rows. But the 225m figure is what the DVD collection said so many sources follow it as absolute fact. The early concept art do have those woefully small sizes listed on them too, but I will always follow the math done by the fans based on what we see on screen and using the CGI models. Sizing the F-302 to fit a human being and then sizing the 303 and 304 based on how big they need to be to fit the 302s.
@jonharper4478Ай бұрын
Stargate now confirmed Prometheus at 525 Meters. And Stargate Now is run by the show runners. So I believe them.
@tyrannicpuppyАй бұрын
@@jonharper4478 I don't think that Stargate Now is run by any of the actual showrunners. However it is by folks who have access to actual screen used CGI models and lots of background info and shots. Spinobreaker has several of the original show models of the ships and has done a bunch of size breakdowns on the subreddit. So I'm far more inclined to believe the people who've done the proper research with the actual models over a hastily published magazine.

And we have some shots to scale the f 302. Shot from area 51 hangar, then where they have the Stargate between the wings, and since she is a two seater we can pretty accurate guess the cockpit size

Yes many great looking designs from small to large amongst the Stargate theme, I very much like the B304, the O'Neill class, Ha'tak, Apophis and Anubis motherships but I am also quite partial to those Wraith ships as well, I suspect that the floating Nox city is also a space ship probably where those Ancients got the idea

I seem to remember the Tria wasn't destroyed, it was left adrift between galaxy's because it's hyper drive wasn't repairable. I think it would have been interesting if they would have used it to replace the midway station after it was destroyed. I mean it's definitely big enough and it's kinda stuck nearby that location.

BC-304 Daedalus Class, length: 650 meters, width: 367 meters, height: 135 meters. (200 meters is laughable when you consider that scene where the ship sets down on the water next to Atlantis which is supposed to be a city. There is a “official plan/schematic” that was released a while back which is considered accurate but that’s as far as memory serves lol. As for Atlantis’ size it’s got to be at least 5km in circumference

The Tria was never destroyed. It was left in the galactic void, near the Midway station. Statements from the wiki the director says its still there.

The windows in Tau'ri ships are floor to ceiling. So their ships are definitely bigger than the official sizes given. Certainly bigger than say Voyager from Star Trek, which is listed somewhere around 350m. The real size of a 304 has got to be around 650m.
@glenr7393Ай бұрын
If the F302 is 26m wide then the F304 (Daedalus) has to be (approx) 300m wide, which also makes it roughly 600m long!

I have to say my Favorite is The Destiny. Runner ups are Atlantis city ship and the Daedalus. Why? Functional and still looking good after 5 million years. Atlantis looking like a snowflake from above, but being a city while using a forcefield to make fully space worthy.. or deep submergence in an ocean. Daedalus.. just looks military and business focused. Good shapes with all and nice level of complexity. Atlantis scale, the Manhattan is good, so’s Montreal island. IMO.

Two things, first not all Earth's ships are the same sizes, Odyssey was rushed and they corners so she is smaller, whereas Apollo is shown on screen as being larger. Secondly, Destiny was not launched from Earth, it was launched from what I believe is the central nod of the Stargate network.
