No expert hits a home run with every draft pick. There is some luck (draft position, talent available, does player pan out?, etc.). Getting Stroud after the Watson disaster was a homerun so far. The front office seems to be loading the bases to make it a grand slam. If I were a Texans fan, I'd be ecstatic at the prospect of an SB window opening up out of nowhere. Some fans wait forever for a situation like this. Whether Diggs becomes a hit or bust there, you gotta love the effort to capitalize on Stroud's rookie contract with all the additions.

This should have happened awhile ago. Diggs has been taking shots at JA and the team for a few years now. He’s 31 and thinks he’s still the bees knees. He’s not even a top 15 WR anymore. Maybe not even top 20. Bills could draft someone like Legette at 28 or trade up for someone like BTJ/Adonai etc. The Bills will be just fine. Khalil Shakir is a great contested catch WR with good size and speed combo. He had 611 yards last year on a mere 45 targets! With Diggs and Gabe gone, that’s nearly 250 targets up for grabs. I think it’s safe to assume Shakir will at least double his target total in 2024, even if they draft or trade for a true WR1. They got a hell of a return for him too. I don’t hate the move for the Texans as it will help them win now, but I think starting as early as 2025, it will start to age poorly.
