To combat the interviewer here with the statement “Seven nation army was cool but other than that fuck the white stripes.” The white stripes did a lot more for music than just that song. White Blood Cells is a raw powerful rock record with loads of great songs. I think they did more for rock music than the black keys did, BUT the Black Keys have been more consistent and their laid back, fun personalities add to the charm of the music. Love both bands and the beef is just funny but don’t discredit the White Stripes like that

Yeah, it was a really dumb thing to say. Personally, I think the Stripes are a much more important band. Their music was much stronger than the Black Keys. I like The Black Keys, don't get me wrong but no one's putting Dan Auerbach on a set with Jimmy Page any time soon. There's a reason everyone felt Jack deserved to on It Might Get Loud and I reckon that counts for a lot.

It's almost like listening to sibling vocal harmonies. They just have a musical chemistry that comes from somewhere special.

I never ever thought I’d see the Black Keys on Vlad. Best American rock band of the last 25 years, hands down. Those first few garage albums are the hardest and gnarliest blues to drop in a while. The Black Keys haven’t been good since their album “Brothers”. They’ve completely sold out for commercial “rock”. The part where they blatantly lie about not hearing The White Stripes since they were compared to them was laughable. They’ll never be on the level of The White Stripes or Jack White
@alvarado4272 ай бұрын
I can’t say I agree with that statement. Yes I agree they have fallen off since brothers but everything before that especially their first three albums was some seriously good shit. @caltrops112 ай бұрын
They'll never be on the level of the white stripes becuase the surpassed them years ago. Jack white is jack white but the black keys are still playing shows in arenas. The white stripes don't exist. They haven't made music in years. Jack whites solo shit, is interesting, but it ain't the white stripes. Legend of rock and roll and guitar playing for sure one of the most fascinating indivuals on this planet. Also turns hes a jealous asshole. In his divorce proceedings with meg, one of his crucial things that absolutely had to happen was their kid not going to school with Dan's kid. That's petty. Meanwhile, dan doesn't give a shit. And dan is still making music with the dude who got famous for making music with. He still has his drummer. They still have a sound. Where's half Jack's sound? Great guitar player kind of a jealous insecure egotiscal man. Especially when there's a feature length documentary when you pay homage to all the people you stole your sounds from. It might get loud... Either way. 7 nation army probably makes alot of money. But every black keys album of the past got a song on it some multi billion dollar corporation is paying em to use forever for a fucking Ford commercial. I mean come on now. Jacks great but the black keys are everything he wishes the white stripes could of been.
