IKR! Yes, the two main characters have been shown to have feelings towards each other at some points, but when they're getting over it, the blood moon just brings them together again. As seen with Marco, this isn't always good. Heck, him returning to Mewny really feels like something was forcing him, knowing Marco, he doesn't just make decisions without thinking things through. (Also notice how he's the only one who actually realises the blood moon is there) Especially after after the mid season finale, the characters didn't really show any feelings for one another and they probably got over it. The blood moon is messing with everyone's feeling and I bet eventually this will turn into a disaster (eg. Tom finding out about the StarCo kiss, and because he's very powerful and could help in battle, this will be a great loss for Star) While I'm the kind of person who ships many things at once (Jarco, TomStar a bit of StarCo) , I do prefer them staying friends, and it seems like they're just being teens and falling head over heels for any random guy who comes across 😂

I had this weird idea of the blood moon making them indeed soul tied, but not necessarily in the romantic sense. It's weird because I am a Starco shipper, but I still think that this could happen. What if the blood moon makes them always in one another's lives no matter what, but they won't get married in the end? Star being with Tom cements th whole monster and mewman unity idea and them bridging the gap for good. So even if I do ship Starco, I wouldn't have problems if Star and Tom stayed together and were endgame.

Maybe they only called it "The Moon of Lovers" because past people bonded by the blood moon were in the right circumstances to actually fall in love and stay together. But for Star and Marco, it's a little too late (pun intended). Star is with her ex again. Marco and Jackie broke up, and he's hanging out with Kelly (i guess). Perhaps Starco will be the first blood moon bond to not be romantic due to the circumstances of their lives. They're in two different places in life.

BriarJay Well remember how Star and Marco started saying everything at the same time right after the Blood Moon Ball? Then Marco says "It's like our souls are bonded" when picking up Star's wand. Then there's Booth Buddies which blows everything out of the water. We finally get to hear Marco's thoughts on Starcrushed. Then there was the Blood Moon in the back ground and Star and Marco's cheek marks glowing at the same time. I think they might be confirming the endgame here. As for Tom I think it would be better for him to have some individual character development. His whole existence basically revolves around Star.

I honestly had a guess for the end of the series that has captures my attention for some time now. The Blood Moon is supposed to bond two souls for eternity, and while it's generally accepted by the fandom that it is supposed to mean that Marco and Star end up together, what if it just means that their destinies will always be intertwined whether they are a couple or not? Marco seems to have a constant struggle with containing the darker parts of himself, and has proven through his obsession with the cape that he can get too emotionally attached to things regarding Mewmi and Star. So what if he allows himself to become obsessed in a way that is not good at all? After the most recent episode there is now clear proof that he likes Star, but Star doesn't like him back anymore, as her feelings now belong to Tom. I feel like years down the line we aren't going to see Marco and Star ruling Mewmi together, but instead, Star is queen and Marco is the new "villain" of the series, constantly trying to take back what he wants (Star and Mewmi), but constantly being thwarted by Star's child and Star herself. While it's not the happiest of endings for Marco, it's also not unrealistic, especially if he succumbs to the evil parts of himself.

In season 1, I thought they will be bond with each other, but not necessarily in a romantic way. Being bf is a strong bond too and in an episode in S1 Star call them twins. So yeah I thought they will be bond together because they're close and god partners fighting villains :) But that would be great and surprising if the blood moon spell is a curse and they are forced to love each other. That could be a better storytelling than the cliche "2 bf fall in love for each other" ^^' Let's see what happen in S4! :D

I think the Blood Moon Ball isn't just a curse but it is also a blessing as cliche as it may sound. This is because of the moments you pointed out. When Star was facing Ludo in Bon Bon the Birthday clown and Marco was in the middle of his kiss with Jackie, it warned him that Star was in trouble. The blood moon bonded their souls and I mean they are really close. They depend on each other and I think Star called Marco her life line in Deep Dive. Star and Marco need each other to improve and to function which speaks volumes to their relationship. The Blood Moon ball is also a curse because it practically has ruined some of their relationships with others. With Marco being close to Star more, he spends less time with his friends such as Ferguson, Alfonso, and Janna. He spent less time with his ex-gf Jackie because he was so focused on Star and Mewni. This ruined their relationship. The kiss between Star and Marco in Booth Buddies could also ruin Star's relationship with Tom. I hope Tom, Marco, and Star can all still be friends but their original relationship may regress partly because of the Blood Moon. I think that the Blood Moon wasn't a strategic move by Toffee because Tomm said the Blood Moon Ball happens every 667 years so you would assume this is a really old underworld tradition. I think Marco and Star just accidentally happened to be in the right place at the right time. I know however that I am happy that Star and Marco danced under the blood moon ball.

Actually Star was doing fine against Ludo in BBtBC, and in the midst of defeating him until Marco and Jackie showed up and Star got distracted and jealous. This caused her magic to corrupt and turn on her, and it was that very portal spell that ultimately ended up being the reason Glossaryk was taken by Ludo. Marco was chasing ludo and possibly could've gotten the book back, but he let Ludo go, in order to save Star from the portal that was sucking her in, and would've sucked her in had everyone not saved her. You could say that if it weren't for the Blood Moon Glossaryk and the book would've never been taken by Ludo, which set in a course of events that the narrative still hasn't recovered from. In a way, the Blood Moon was actually responsible for some of the worst events in the series.

Marco needed to do it because they are locked up there i know he needs to make another idea to it but that's the only thing he can think of. What if toffee was the one that whispered that to Marco the night of the blood Moon when him and Star danced making sure that Marco and Star are soul bonded and destined to be together so neither of them would want a different partner and he plans to release the pent up darkness within Marco and kind of make him a successor to toffee who will continue to cause destruction and who will be completely outmatch any adversary because he'll have the most powerful butterfly by his side, Star.

You know the reason marco went to the blood moon ball was because someone in marcos room whispered blood moon ball at him but no one is shown in the room except for himself. That being said, after someone whispered that to marco, the camera zoomed into a painting of what appears to be an old sailor. What's so weird about that? When eclipsa saved star and marco from a portal, they started talking until eclipsa showed her a secret passage consisting of a picture of an old sailor. Coincidently, star has a painting of the same picture in her room. Was eclipsa the one who whispered those words to marco? If she did, why did she convince marco to go to the ball. Follow up question: Eclipsa's 'monster love' is a demon and so is tom. But if she fell in love with a demon and if she was the whisperer, why would she want star to be bonded with marco instead of tom, a demon? Does she want to lure tom to her side? Let me know of your opinions or thoughts.

Brucito Sabanero I think it's really interesting you pointed out the sailor picture and how it might be related to Eclipsa. But how would Eclipsa be able to whisper things to Marco while she is crystallized? She also seems really devoted to her husband so I doubt she'd make a move on Tom. Still, what you pointed out might hint that Eclipsa is the one behind this blood moon ordeal rather than Toffee, or maybe it was Toffee, or maybe both. Guess we'll just have to wait agonisingly for season 4 to come out to know for sure...

But maybe eclipsa might have known about her crystallization and made a spell in which a part of her (or a minion) to follow her deeds/orders. I am not sure. But we will we in season 4. Well I noticed something that could make your theory stronger: in the episode where Moon defeats Toffee, we can see on his shoulders two skulls and one of them have ace marks cheeks just like Eclipsa, so maybe Toffee works for her since she "married" to a powerful monster (seriously Globgor looks like a lot to Tom's mother but with 4 eyes instead of 3, so he could be a high rank or even the king of monsters). That could be logicial since it's because of this war Moon made a deal with Eclipsa to free her :o

In fact... now that I think about it... Marco' s wand is almost exactly like Eclipsa's! Just... without the umbrella part. What if his wand represented his ability to master the darker side of magic without succumbing to its dark influence like Eclipsa?

I'm kinda expecting this to be an arc in season 4, just think about it: Tom finally confronts Marco and Star for the kiss that Marco already talk about, while in the past Tom doesn't seem to hate Marco for kinda stealing his girlfriend he finally confess that maybe it was his fault in first place, explaining that all those feelings possibly were because the blood moon bounded its souls and maybe not because of true love... Marco and Star very confused on thinking in that possibility embark on a magical and emotional journey to clear that curse, Star always sure of every decision she makes while Marco constantly asking Star if this is truly what she wants with the closer they get to banishing the blood moon curse... At long last the blood moon has banished forever but... Marco, Nothing has really changed for him, he still feels the same way about Star... The Blood Moon could be working under the soulmate principle or Disney's Happily Ever After. Being soul mates doesn't mean smooth sailing and unconditional love-it's involuntary, it's all consuming and you can't get away from it no matter how hard you try. So in a way, yes, it is a curse just as much as it can be a blessing. It just depends on which pill you choose to swallow. There is one issue regarding the theory; If the blood moon is a negative influence and can forcefully bind two souls together for eternity-why did it select Star and Marco? There were many creatures present during the ball and I doubt Toffee could influence it to select those two precisely and too many things could've gone wrong, so there is clearly more to it than that. Personally, I don't see it as an all consuming negative, but I can see the potential for it to become that way. Obsession is dangerous especially when you lose sight of what's important. Toffee's machinations are hard to perceive at the best of times but there was assuredly foul play involved with events leading up to this point. The question is where and why? What does the Blood Moon actually mean and how does it help Toffee's efforts to reclaim Mewnie for monsterkind? His intelligence is perfectly matched with his patience and we'll learn sooner or later what was really intended.

Marco was apparently based on the woman's - who created the show - husband. So I've got this feeling Star and Marco do end up together though for all I know Star might not be based on the creator of the show. It would be really interesting if it were fated. It might tie into earlier theories about Marco somehow having lost ties with magic. But if it's like the theory in this video, it would be interesting to see an evil version of Marco if only for a short period of time if he decides to use the forbidden magic.

Raven I didn't know about that part about her husband! That's actually rather sweet. I was looking at it from a more _'how could he achieve this?'_ standpoint. Being predestined is less far-fetched than Toffee having some sort of control over an astrological phenomenon that has been handed down from generation to generation amongst monsterkind. Magic seems to be a latent ability in Star's people, and can affect others when exposed to it. But if that's the case then the wand is just a crutch or a way to amplify that magic, which means it isn't necessary to achieve butterfly form. This also leads me into questioning whether the whole 'queen' thing is also smoke and mirrors, because Star and Moon are not legitimate heirs to the butterfly dynasty, yet were able to achieve butterfly form. However, if it works more from a Queen Bee approach, I can see why things developed in the way that they did.

I don't think they have "true" feelings other than friendship since that's all that they were before the curse. So you undo what's been done and all that's left is what you start with. A good friendship. (That IMO should stay that way.) Besides Tom had feeling for Jackie WAYYYY before the curse caused him to have feelings for Star. Logically, he would re-realize his feelings for Jackie that were basically forced away from him. I'm just going off of logic and logic alone, because it doesn't make sense for Star and Marco to feel love for eachother since it's all built on a foundation of being FORCED to have feelings for eachother that they didn't have prior. :/

I think in some eyes it's fate/a blessing, but it's truly a curse. It's been stated by many other theorists that Star and Marco mimic Venus/Aphrodite and Mars/Ares, and I think in the scheme of things, Tom is essentially Hephatus/Vulcan in the scenario. Even though Star may have strong love like feelings for Tom, the red moon may break them in a curse fashion.

When Marco showed his crescent moons, he had star touching him on two different ways. First, he was holding star's wand, and only when his right hand touched it (the monster arm) the wand turned into something. And while in photobooth, star had to touch the photos so marco's cheeks were visible, so I guess there is this Star magic's element present that is needed for the marks arise. About the shipping part, I am a Starco fan! XD But it would bem awesome that this blood moon spell turn into some darkning stuff :3

As something else to note, Star was doing fine against Ludo in BBtBC, and in the midst of defeating him until Marco and Jackie showed up and Star got distracted and jealous. This caused her magic to corrupt and turn on her, and it was that very portal spell that ultimately ended up being the reason Glossaryk was taken by Ludo. Marco was chasing ludo and possibly could've gotten the book back, but he let Ludo go, in order to save Star from the portal that was sucking her in, and would've sucked her in had everyone not saved her. You could say that if it weren't for the Blood Moon Glossaryk and the book would've never been taken by Ludo, which set in a course of events that the narrative still hasn't recovered from. In a way, the Blood Moon was actually responsible for some of the worst events in the series.

Marco and Star had the best adventures and dynamic as best buds in my opinion, and there was way more trust between them. I'm glad other people are also doubtful of the blood moon. Most of the fandom ships starco and they really romanticized the moon because it declared star and marco soulmates. But I've always been weary of it. I feel like a common trope in fantasy is that there is always some consequence when you mix love and magic. It would be really weird if Star and Marco were made soulmates with no sacrifices or consequences because that's never how it works in most stories. I'm not sure about the Blood Moon being a curse, but we definitely see Marco making a ton of sacrifices for Star. Not enough people recognize how unhealthy Marco's relationship with Star is right now. As you said, he cut off his family and friends on earth just to be with her, his loyalty to star ruined his friendship with Heckapoo, the starco kiss will ruin his relationship with kelly, and tomco was trash this season because marco and tom got jealous of each other ugh (i miss them being cute boyfriends singing together). I really hope the writers are actually writing the blood moon with this duality and not just as a symbol of love. It would be a lot more intriguing and it would give a real reason why starco has been so uncomfortable to watch this season.
