That’s a good idea! I have been putting off replacing my oil level sensor because I just changed my oil. I am only about 1k miles from another oil change. Wish I had seen this sooner

I blew my motor on a Alpina B7. The sensor reads full and there’s no oil in car, I have started a class action suit. Bring dip stick back

I'm sorry to hear that. I have not come across an oil level sensor that has had that issue before.

Seriously! My CCC unit broke...now I have no way to check my oil level. Some things are just best left analog.

Oh you'll don't want to drain the oil while replacing the oil level sensor. LOL

good trick, but why not just do an oil change at same time, never a bad idea
@csmjosh15 жыл бұрын
Depends I guess if you would want to collect the oil and refill it if your oil change isn't due for another few thousand miles.
@pcproa14 жыл бұрын
BMW LL01 specification when using the right oil is 25,000km oil change intervals, but an expensive 7 litres of synthetic oil. In my case my sensor failed only 1000km into my last oil change. I didn't want to have to drain my fresh oil right after a new oil change just to change the sensor and I wasn't going to risk contaminating it by pouring it into a catch can and try to reuse the oil.
@joee88784 жыл бұрын
Patrick Chung same here after 1000km had an sensor asked to add 1L and no leaking at all at my car. So what you do after that?

If you recently did an oil change and you care about the environment, then this might actually be a good plan.

@@beigefox6579 Too bad they didn't think like that in the 50s-70s and 80s when they were dumping 25,000+ barrels of DDT off the Coast of California. 🤔

To replace the oil sensor without draining the oil.
@soburnedout2 жыл бұрын
@@capeofstormz5974 that seems pretty lame to me- if it’s a matter of not wanting to buy oil, or like you JUST changed it recently, then why not just run it through a cone filter (paint strainer or similar) on its way BACK INTO the engine? To each their own I guess…
