Thank you for your explanation of sin. I’ve been feeling very lonely and isolated since my children have flown the nest. I’ve really wanted to reach out to a community and thought about joining a church but the Christian language has put me off because I don’t believe in the concept of sin and it angers me how it is used for control and fear. I’ve had the ACIM book for 10 years and have recently been seeing it in my eyesight every time I walk past the book case. Then today your channel popped up. I will definitely be starting to read it. Thank you 🙏❤

My favorite book for the last 20 years, and I am 70 now. I studied many, Blavatsky, Kabbalah, Baghavad Gita, our Bible, so much info...and when the Course chose me (I actally salvaged the book from my church, they were going to throw it away as Heresy) it slowly changed my world and mind. I did the structured 365 lessons, learned a lot, but the real magic started when I just randomly opened it and BAAANG, there was the answer to my doubt or question or anxiety ! I use it like that now, a book of divination, open on my desk 24/7, and we have becopme inseperable friends. Thank you, Holy Spirit !! The first thing the Course says is- NOTHING REAL CAN BE THREATENED NOTHING UNREAL EXISTS HEREIN LIES THE PEACE OF GOD Shalom

I commend you for being so open to learning from other inspired works from God and come to your own understanding of the divine. I a on this path that you have been on and my mind and awareness of the greatee truth is coming through - breaking away from what I felt was missing in the fundamental one-sided Christian view of God/Jesus. Thank you for sharing your path.

I’m glad I ran across this. I’m a lesbian and my relationship with Christianity has been the same. It always felt wrong and I never felt quite accepted and loved. I never believed that God was a hateful God but instead a living God. I ran across this book in the library and I kept walking past it but not able to stop thinking about it. I finally propped it open. Did some research and found that it was the book I was always looking for. I always thought God was that of love “God is Love” that what I truly believed. So this was something I was so happy to see. I’ve recently checked out the book and found it to be so helpful in my life. Transformation has always been so tough for me. But it’s helped shift my mindset. Wonderful thank you for sharing!

“A Course in Miracles” found me four years ago, but it wasn’t until the third year that I started to truly grasp its message. When I did, I’ll admit-I felt like throwing the book out the window. This isn’t a gentle journey or a trendy take on spirituality. The Course is about fully waking up from the illusions of this world, and it’s not always comfortable. In fact, it can be deeply unsettling, which is exactly where I am right now. Jesus Christ offers us the truth through the Course, but only a few will choose to walk this path. It’s a challenging journey, but the wisdom in this book is profound, and it came to me when I needed it most. Now that I’m this far in, there’s no turning back.❤

It is so encouraging to see our younger people getting into ACIM. There really isn't another teaching like it on the planet because of it's mind training aspect and focus on the true meaning and practice of forgiveness. And of the many spiritual teachings I have studied, none have talked about the ego the way the Course does. While the meaning of the Course is, in reality, simple...it's just not easy because it takes a lot of willingness to apply it consistently. If you are happy with your life and are seeking a spiritual teaching to help dress it up, then the Course is not something you would want to look at. But if you are finally seeing the insanity of this world and realizing there isn't any lasting happiness or peace, and at that point where you are saying, "There has got to be a better way!"...then the Course would be very helpful for you. If you find yourself in that situation, I would highly advise reading "The Disappearance of the Universe" by Gary Renard first. It's a phenomenal book that explains the message of the Course incredibly well. I hope this helps!

As a Hindu, I am into learning all capital T truth from all wisdom traditions, including acim. Access to all of this universal paths…What a gift from living in these times. On another note, the language-ing, the not including of women except in very limited ways, and being generally non inclusive , has always been a big red flag for me for my religion and even the more mystical sects of other religions. Even 12 step literature. I think it’s changing more now but…that’s also been an issue for me.

I was actually turned onto A Course in Miracles by my church, lol. A Christian-based, new thought church. Hadn’t completed my study of it in the past, but with a recent life change (retired early & moved abroad), I now have all of the time in the world to really spend a lot of time with it. So this was a great refresher on how to approach it. ❤

This book, just changed my life. I found I was unconsciously or unknowingly placing myself in situations which caused me pain; both physically and emotionally. I did this because I thought I had to atone for my sins or get right with God by showing, or proving, I suffer for Him or Her. I fully believed I was suffering for God. I was duped. God does NOT want me to suffer. He/She wants me to be HAPPY. My former view, goes directly to the meaning of the Crucifixion. If it is payment for sin, then my suffering was the correct method. However, if the Crucifixion was to show we are in a dream state and nothing can actually hurt me, it allows me to Forgive and Love. My suffering was never needed, wanted or desired by God. In fact it hurts the Christ Body.

This book has come up in my life several times but I've always held back getting it. I did however buy A return to love about 6 years ago and listened to the author on a podcast and took a lot of notes that was very helpful but I never read the book. I'm also a avid reader but held back. Fast forward to today I've had a rough couple of months, I've been so judgemental and negative it's been terrible and I don't feel like myself or happy. I prayed and opened a return to love and needed more and found this video. I just bought the course because I'm ready for this. I need solid reminders to live in love, and remember who I am and that I'm a co-creator. I'm not a victim to my life and I'm committing to live in the flow. I'm going to check out your community. Good day. I come from a country with a strong Catholic tradition. As a child, I was given a strong program about sin and guilt and the Last Judgement. This program hurts many people and locks them in a dark cave of guilt. Since I started reading A Course in Miracles, a profound transformation has begun in me. I only regret that there are so few students of A Course in Miracles in Poland, I have no one to talk to about it. Trying to bring up the topics of the Course among friends is not met with approval. And when I say that the author is Jesus, no one believes me :-) Warmest greetings from Poland

Greatly put together. You summarised my sentiments of how it’s delivered. I’m extremely well read, both logically and spiritually, and struggled a bit to navigate the words and the way they are used. Logical left male brain insisted on reading it front to back. Currently up to lesson 27. And put it down for a couple of months while moving on to books such as Power vs Force and the Body Keeps Score. Yet I can confirm that if one can get past the way it is written, and the manner with which the words are used, the lessons can have a deep effect. A Christian understanding did help me. Thanks for the reminder to get back to it. It’s definitely not a book for most I would assert to begin their spiritual journey. But it likely has some some of the most profound effects if one is open to receiving them. Thanks for sharing this and putting it together in the way that you have.

I left my last bf because he didn’t understand and was trying to pull me out of the spiritual path. I had to make a choice. Is not about sexuality nor gender. God is All. The word HE is generic. If we talk about aspects of dual gender like Hinduism does with Shiva and Shakti, I believe He refers to the Unmanifest and She to the Manifest (Mother Nature if you will). Like on Genesis when God made Eve from a part of Adam. They are both One and the same. In the Course the Son would be Shakti, the whole Universe. The Father, the Unmanifest, the Godhead. And the Spirit the Union between them both, like explained in the Holy Trinity.

Although I read the original course, you can use her book "A Course in Miracles Experiment" to help you understand each lesson using "today's language & examples!" I hope you do more with this subject. I am leaning on the Course more now that a change in politics & EMPATHY for others is changing to more of the EGO & less of SPIRIT.

@brendalturner Hello Brenda, thanks for the comment and question. I first read "Absence from Felicity" and really connected with Helen and Bill's story and her psychic experiences. This led to reading the Course steadily since 2005. Over the two decades, I did the Workbook twice with the 2nd time this year. I watched Ken's videos and lectures over and over. He was very comforting to me. I've watched other learners/teachers over the years, like David Hoffmeister and Carol Howe. 1. I learned to be more forgiving to others and myself more frequently. 2. Also learned to Trust the Holy Spirit even when I was fearful. The line that has stuck with me the most has been, "Forgot this world, forget this Course and come with wholly open hands to my God." This line let me know the goal was to connect with God and feel safe that I don't have to worry about the body. That we are all one together with God, what we give is given us. Watching videos like yours reinforces my learning and seeing others connect as well. Thank you for your videos and feedback!

There are no rules about that. You just give your full commitment to the Course, and then do whatever else you'd like. You'll likely find a decreased need to read self development material. I didn't read much else on my first round of ACIM, and that was because I started to find the self-help felt watered down in comparison to the potency of ACIM
@benjaminh.hooper39532 ай бұрын
Hi Brenda, Don’t know if you’re still responding to these. In the short 18days I’ve began this process it has helped me with the scientific challenge and view that God is even real or exist. I have no problem with the “Christian language” since I’ve been saved 18 X’s. Ha! Ha! True that. I know not possible right? I would like your take from a scientific level if you can? I have had problems with the reality of God as I said, but now backing away from “my”perception’s, “my” understanding, and “my” view of what I thought reality was; I’m seeing that we live in a “very coded matrix” developed by our own egos. That the Course says or implies God is below our “written code”. He’s telling us that He’s /She’s very simple, uncomplicated. Pure Love and ecstatic peace, Love, and Joy. Does this sound crazy? It’s what I’m experiencing so far. What are your thoughts?
@brendalturner2 ай бұрын
Hi Ben, You don't sound crazy at all. I think you're right on track with the insight that God is very simple, uncomplicated, pure love etc. As for the scientific aspects of validating God, or seeking out the proof, you can certainly find science that supports the existence of an intelligent designer to this experience. What the Course has given me is the gift of the DIRECT EXPERIENTIAL KNOWING of God. That's why I adore it. It washed the parts of me that doubted the total benevolence of life, and the force that created me with direct understanding that transcended "thought understanding". There is copious amounts of scientific data showing strong hints at the divine creator, but even if the NYT had a story with every scientist in the world stating "Yes. God is real." it wouldn't do me a lick of good if i didn't DIRECTLY KNOW, in my blood and bones, what God/Love is...so, the mind can only take us so far before we have to "eat the orange" as they say in buddhism. Hope this helps!
@benjaminh.hooper39532 ай бұрын
@ Everything I could hope for it helps. Just grateful for your response. I looked up the Buddha response “eating the orange“. Thank you, and again grateful for your energy. I’ll also look into your products more. I’m currently working an “triad of care” type program. 1). Is responding to daily human pragmatic prayers and a blank adjoining page to write a free expression on. My spiritual mentor wrote the book. (Also I would be happy to send to you. No cost if you have a business address I can send it to). 2). Is ACIM book & workbook exercises. & 3). Is a “Repentance Plan” associated to the 12 Step program and working the Steps. In the last 121 days, I finally forgave my self after leaving a criminal lifestyle in an outlaw motorcycle gang in 1980. I had a horrible form of PTSD from the lack of self forgiveness and uncontrollable flashbacks. Though outwardly I’ve appeared to live a successful life, inwardly I was suffering. My mentor through the above mentioned has helped this “last man” come off the cross. Brenda, I’ve been “rocketed” into another dimension with meeting people like you and how this “His/Her process” has created instant healing. As I humbly gratefully share this with you, I feel so much Love.

Trying to do two or more spiritual practices at the same time can have the effect of causing the mind to become too scattered and not going deep with any of them. To get a good understanding of the message of the Course, I would suggest reading "The Disappearance of the Universe" by Gary Renard first. That book will help you decide whether to pursue the Course or not. I hope this helps!

TM uses a mantra during meditation. ACIM requires you to focus on the concept of the Workbook during your meditations. Also, the book Journey of Awakening by Ram Dass contains techniques that are essentially TM, but for free. Nothing against TM, I just adore Ram Dass's teachings. As for Tony Robbins, he was my gateway drug into self development and I love him too. I call him "Uncle Tony" in my mind. You should go with your heart on whether or not to blend your teachings of ACIM and Tony. ACIM is a tool you can use throughout your life, including during periods of intense growth. That said, I personally found giving ACIM my full attention on year one to be very profound. It felt like I was on yearlong retreat, while never leaving my city. Giving my whole mind to it each day really accelerated my understanding of it. Finally, ACIM will reach you wherever you're at. It will use whatever time you devote to it, and it will make use of that time and create Miracles for you. ❤

as a "she" in the form, the masculine references to the Son of God work for me because it automatically reminds me that i am not just i, but all of us as the One Holy Son of God.

Just do the lessons (exercises) and forget about the text. The text is not as important as the workbook.

Let's see what the Course says: A theoretical foundation such as the text provides is necessary as a framework to make the exercises in this workbook meaningful. (ACIM, W-in.1:1)

There are profound truths under the Genesis Myth. Many will stop searching because they discover that its a myth not realizing the depth of the story. For example the Garden if Eden is a state of consciousness. The Garden is a symbol of natural purity via innocence and ignorance. YOU dwelled in the Garden of Eden until about age 7. You ingested the pleasurable and painful experiences of life (you ate of the fruit of the knowledge if good and evil) and your consciousness changed. You didnt actually go anywhere but you were no longer residing in the Garden. Theres much more but Im not writing a book her.

It is sad that your experience with the Christian walk is tarnished. God is a loving Father.

Yes the Christian language totally off put me. Each time i get back to it, i love it and really change my inner understanding or at least find a validation to what is weak in me, father and he he he came up, all the KZbin comment section of repetitive language of trying to recruit you just no. I understand words like sin and atonement and all that. They are helpful vocabulary. And ego or not i don't care or like using the word ego, i just get questions and i need an answer, why no she why this constant he he, as if she doesn't exist. Like it's written by a male narcissist. Here you might say ego, past reference, personal projection, i don't care. I have the right to raise questions and not be ok with this language. I so wish theylre was an alternative version. I started reading she instead of he each time and say idk fairy or something else each time it's father, or son, it's hilarious i have to do that. I still get back to it once in a while. Can you tell about the Christian language. Why is it? I know a little background on the research but still don't get it. So much explanation to the depths, no explanation to father and son.

And i am also ok with the usage of God. All this father son and he part symbolises centuries of oppression and patriarchal punishment and order that I just can not pass by. If I had an explanation I can pass the trigger. And this has nothing to do with ego, if it is then I don't care because it is valid. Ego also has the right to talk.

Everything else I couldn't agree more. It gives me a lot. It's like a remembrance. It's humbling. It's extremely valuable when something humbles and centers you without a trauma : D

I would say from what I learned so far about non duality, it is all one, so there is no he or she, it is really gender neutral, because God does not have a gender, as far as I understand he/she is the formless and does not like to be pictured, because there is no picture for the one and all everything, it distorts what has all shapes into one. I'm very curious now about this book, I know this will blow my mind and change me, thank you for doing this video, it was just a revelation to me.
@brendalturner2 ай бұрын
That's an excellent point. The Oneness transcends gender. I'm glad to hear you found the video helpful. Check back in and let me know of any revelations you experience if you do decide to embark on ACIM.
just found your channel so glad your not generalizing all of the "christian" stereotypes to all christian's... I am "christian" but wouldn't identify or relate with any of the generalizations you mentioned in this loving and inclusive community

It's not scripture! Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life! The Bible is the only book that contains the gospel scriptures. Sorry not sorry!
