You only feel handshock if you grasp the handle to tight and/or lock your bowarm. Speed - the general fist rule for Hillstyles is draw weight + 100. Great Clip, Armin! Thank You & Shoot Straight!

It looks interesting and pretty Long Bow. Peter is a nice guy I would like to see you guys together sharing some shots and. Maybe it's time now to make a conversion to Long bow and try new things and leave Horse bows behind. I don't think it's bad to become a Longbow man. Ok let continue watching the review 👊😅☕🏹

Nice bow, thanks again Armin. Re Hill style bows in Europe, unfortunately the UK is now semi-detached, but I think there's still a couple made here. Lee Ankers at Heritage does one, and there's the good old Rex Oakes Saggitarius.

The slight backwards bend in that bow unstrung is called backset, if the bow bends slightly in the other direction it is called string follow, nice review as always

It looks real nice for a long bow! Seems to perform OK for the weight. I'd like to see a comparison of 50# is 50# as Peter stated. That bow against a good Turkish bow of the same draw weight at full draw. Thanks for another great review! So are you ready to convert to a longbow Men yet? Lol

Hill style bows are a tool to be used. You can get fancy woods, and custom backing, but basically it's a minimalistic design. The raiser is not much bigger then your hand. The rest is limbs that do the work. Building a bow from Bambo layers with fiberglass backing means the Bamboo does the work. On modern recurves the wood is a filler that keeps everything in shape and the wide glass limb layers do the work.
@jme104
@jme104 Жыл бұрын
Remove the fiberglass and see what happens to the poundage...Of course the bamboo core does some work and its thickness is important for the strength of the bow , the thickest the core the stronger the bow with the same fiberglass .
@ralfgrosser4443

Howard Hill made the first bows in this style before Fiberglass was available. At the time they used fabrics such as glue impregnated Silk, or Japanese paper as a stabilizing backing. One of the first uses for Fiberglas in the civilian market was dive boards for swimming pools. Gordon's, the company that started this in the late forties, still supplies the majority of the glass used in the archery market.

Can a long bow shoot a arrow as far as a compound bow ?
@laurentmeiller5171
@laurentmeiller5171 2 жыл бұрын
aye, houla ! Fairbow's most difficult bow, very impressive but absolutely not comfortable at this weight...the most interesting model of the Fairbow range (for me) is the Sentinell, a 72 or 74" flatbow, you can use for relaxing or historic reconstitutions and it's cheaper (179€). about size and power, you know i started with a 57" scythian bow, then with a 68" classic recurve in club, but the linear draw of a longbow is special, for quite and precise people (not bad at all...) Friday afternoon i received my Blackfoot (66"@35#) : silent, linear and a hurricane with carbon arrows (700 spine), no handshock for precise shooting at 190 fps... who's bad ?
@Daylon91
@Daylon91 2 жыл бұрын
how is it "not comfortable at this weight? Howard shot heavy bows so heavier bows of his style should be good.

When they give you draw length for a bow at 28" Is it from the back or belly of the bow?
