*EXCELLENT* , Niacin improves the connection between the synapsis and help treat some Psychiatric Disorders. Niacin is very important for neurons: cells found in the brain. It promotes important biological processes like energy metabolism, calcium homeostasis, and mitochondrial functions. It plays a role in cell survival and death. The active form of niacin, NAD, prolongs the lifespan of nerve and brain cells

I think it's the other way around for ADHD, the low dopamine make it hard to use the ECN so brain keeps slipping into DMN and clears the short term memory/ unfocused. DMN generates new thought ECN tries to execute. Slips back into DMN and loops.

Really enjoyed this, thank you. Inspiring stuff. I thought you explained the theory and its implications for research and treatment well. As someone planning to apply for psychiatry residencies in the fall, do you have any recommendations as to how I can continue to learn more about this as I continue my training? It sounds like Stanford is involved in this kind of research. Any other programs you can recommend? Any advice as to how I might be able to get involved as a fourth year student? Thank you!

The programs vary. I would recommend coming to the APA annual conference and start going to the meetings on neuroscience. Dr. Alan Loui just gave a talk on Tuesday on it in San Francisco that I attended. profiles.stanford.edu/alan-louie

I really loved the section explaining the connectome, but especially for more naive viewers I wish you had been more clear about what is established and what is speculation (self help, stem cell and neurofeedback directions).

Can you suggest any neuro modulation device for suppressing sympathetic nervous system/norepinephrine? And makes you calm?
@CodyRallMD5 жыл бұрын
You can learn how to suppress those neurotransmitters through meditation using the Muse ;) . You can also look into some neurostimilation devices like Thync or audio visual entrainment like BrainTap. I have reviewed those devices on my channel as well.

@@CodyRallMD I have been trying to buy thync since last year but they have just stopped selling it. I have seen it going "sold out" in front of my eyes while I was finding some friend/relative who lives in the USA who could buy it for me and send it to me to India. When I was ready to buy they stopped selling it. And I have requested Mr. Isy who is the founder of thync so many times but he is not giving me the device because they are trying to get it approved from the FDA for autonomic diseases which i am suffering from. Thync is the only device on earth that can cure me and make my life atleast livable. This suffering is so hard. I wish they understood what I am going through. I know they must have rules and regulations but when someone is literally begging in front of them atleast then they should try to provide some help. Anyway, I have also tried to find people through youtune who bought thync and has it but did not get any proper response from anyone. Thync is a wonderful device lucky are the ones who got to use it. Sympathetic dysfunction is the worst disease and you just cannot do anything and feel helpless because this is an autonomic system and only breathing and a device like thync can help.

@pallavi menta, have you looked into HRV apps? It's pretty rough around the edges but I like Cardiac Coherence The Garden on IOS. I believe Apple Watch has some features as well. There are also Neurofeedback clinics you can visit.

What do you mean by stem-cell treatment here? Are you suggesting injections of stem cells directly into certain areas of the brain?

It's too bad there are not more practitioners like yourself. Too many people trapped in the profit-driven model of psychiatry (and other mental health disciplines), along with the ever-present paranoia of lawsuits and so they stick to convention and do not include the necessary experimental element in the therapies they use with their patients.

My friends are using one of these brain to brain communication devices, maybe intended for music streaming it's a device that uses triangulation, and a down loaded app that comes with headgear, instead of the device/ app and headgear being triangulated for the intended on self user they actually pointed the device at another unsuspecting person and the device picked up and recorded thier brainwave instead, this led to an array of misuse of this technology . They have somehow homemade a ham radio into this situ as tion and USB to a laptop everything they want to stream to the victims brain is traveling to the victim and they are delivering pulses,waves of ultra high band frequency onto the person's brain . This is deadly , they think it is funny . What can be done to stop this assault or attack on this individual ? I think they might really. Go to far

Wow! Talk about loose connectivity. Maybe you should have actually said something of value about graph theory and not done the global theory about everything in the world that relates to psychiatry? Flow or too much ADHD medication?
