Actually, we haven’t gotten anymore news on the upcoming legos movies with Universal for almost 2 years, and keep in mind, their 5 year deal ends in 2025. If we don’t get anymore news related to upcoming movie, that means that the deal is done, LEGO will no longer make films with Universal, and and Universal wasted their time on ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!

Another reason that the Lego Ninjago Movie didn't do too well is that it didn't connect with the existing Ninjago tv show at all, so a lot of us fans of the show didn't enjoy it as much.

Exactly, that was the main reason i was so dissapointed in the movie. Yeah i'm okay with Nya joining the team and anything but damn they didn't explore Spinjitzu a single bit, it was literally the heart of Ninjago and the fact that they left off Spinjitzu was so dissapointing. My thoughts on the films The Lego Movie: fantastic! It takes a story we've seen before (i.e. the chosen one story) and converts it into a film that feels fresh and new The Lego Batman Movie: also fantastic. Similar to Into the Spider-Verse, it acknowledges Batman has been on the big screen before, and so explores a new relationship we haven't seen: his unwillingness to let people get close to him, lest they suffer the same fate as his parents The Lego Ninjago Movie: underwhelming. Not terrible, as there were some good jokes, but something was seriously off. Why would you give ninjas mechs? At least the Power Rangers had them fight themselves. And also the fact that it completely ignores the show The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part: actually pretty solid, and for me personally, it's the most relatable. While the first film told a story about a father and son reconnecting, this one showed two siblings getting along. I have 9 younger siblings, so this really got me. Although there's that one song that I won't name, but it holds it back from being great in my opinion I'm honestly not sure what to expect, but I'm really worried. Universal Pictures is the same studio that has milked Jurassic Park so much to the point to where I have to remind myself there's another one coming, so I have a feeling they might repeat it with Lego

The LEGO Batman movie probably had my favorite version of Robin. He wasn't overbearing, obnoxious, aggressive, or bratty (Like another version of The Boy Wonder who I won't mention) He was a wide-eyed cheerful kid who may have Been Naive, but he would do anything to make Batman proud of him, and his heart was in the right place. He was what Dick Grayson was supposed to represent, at least when he debuted as Robin in the 1940s. I just would have appreciated it if he wore pants and not strut around in a speedo, but that's not enough to ruin this movie for me.

The last thing I remember about the Lego movies was for an ad for the Lego Movie 2 they played the entire first Lego movie for free. I’ve never seen anyone do that since but it’s an awesome idea and they should of got huge props for doing that.

I know what’s he’s talking about, on Black Friday, the people behind LM2 made a 90 minute ad where they play the trailer and then plays the entire 1st movie from start to finish. It was for only one day in KZbin I think there was also a similar situation where they played “this song is gonna get stuck inside your head” for like more hours (3 I think) for an ad on KZbin

It's really depressing how projects of sequels regarding several of my childhood icons get cancelled and rather make movies and shows with cringy sh*t instead like *cough cough Norm of the North, Teen Titans Go etc, If WB will make a Space Jam 3, then Universal should make a Lego Movie 3 like how Paramount and MGM made Sherlock Gnomes which is a sequel to Gnomeo and Juliet which was made by Touchstone which was technically a Disney company before it disappeared in December 2017, All these cancelled movies sounds very interesting, Hell even a Mickey Mouse movie was in the works at one point to be Disney's 50th Motion Picture sometime in 2012, by 2010 Tangled was that 50th Motion Picture. The Mickey film sounds a bit like a fanfiction made by Disney themselves only to be canned, If I made a Mickey Mouse movie, I would do the Roger Rabbit formula, except with no human lead and just Mickey in the real world while being 2D animated, no product placement, no hip jokes etc, not like Tom & Jerry, Clifford etc which is CG in L-A and I would make that film respectful to the original 1930s to 1940s cartoons and not add a generic cliched storyline, My pitch may not sound perfect, but you can pitch a better Mickey Mouse film in the replies, The internet really is a downward spiral of cancelled movies and sequels for Dazz and I appreciate that.

Considering Mickey Is Literally Disney's Mascot, I am quite surprised he didn't get a theatrical movie. My best guess is that Disney is saving a Feature Mickey Mouse movie for a super special occasion, like for their 100th animated feature. Hopefully, if they do make it a reality, it will go back to Mickey's charm of the 1930s-1940s and NOT be hip and cool and all that.

If I’m being honest, I would’ve loved to see a Lego Unikitty Movie. Sure, we got the show, but we could’ve gotten a movie since there were literally Lego sets made. As a matter of fact, I am a diehard fan of Unikitty. It feels so much like SpongeBob, especially when it comes to the main ensemble. Unpopular opinion, but the Ninjago movie was a mistake. It is still a okay movie But the entire series came to a instant screeching halt with it, as tone wise it did everything that the Lego movie and Batman lego did. The same type of jokes, cluttered action scenes that feel like Michael Bay directed them, same type of lead character with the exception of Batman, repeated jokes about beat boxing, Really Ninjago brought nothing new to the table and in my opinion it really sour audiences for the 2nd Lego movie hence why that one failed cause audiences suffered a Lego movie fatigue. Maybe had it just been the Lego Batman movie and left some years of rest for the 2nd movie then the franchise would had still continue. Is a case of throwing a entire series out with spin-offs and tie-ins before even finishing your main trilogy. WB just got too greedy.

I think the series actually improved for a little while after the movie, with Sons of Garmadon and Hunted being perhaps the best seasons they have ever made. Before the movies we had Day of the Departed and Hands of Time, and in my opinion both of those were pretty bad. However, after Hunted it went downhill pretty quickly.

As a fan, who avidly watched the Lego Ninjago series when I was a kid, I actually loved the Lego Ninjago Movie. It's overlooked as an unfaithful adaptation and I agree, the story was wildly different to the original series, but as its own standalone movie was actually pretty good. I haven't kept up with the latest seasons, I sorta stopped after the time twins season, because the later seasons just didn't seem to have the same charm and started to muddle the story so the movie was a great input as a story with a seperate continuation

I almost feel sorry for you that you stopped watching after season 7. It sure takes some time getting used to the new look, but the storyline is absolutely fantastic (except for the final episode of season 10, but that's just my opinion. There are also people who loved this episode for the nostalgia feel). And if you want to watch a season about Cole or Nya, then season 13 or 14 are not perfect, but very good (if you want to watch 14, I recommend taking tissues with you for the last few episodes, at least if you get easily emotional). And with that beeing said: why do people stop watching something because it's changed. Change can also be good, so give this change at least a Chance befor stopping and probably missing something great.

So they decided to change the design to pick up the people who saw the Ninjago movie. In fact, the series also hints at why they look different, and Lloyd's green eyes play a small part in the storyline.

Well, sadly, it’s not the Lego movie three but rather a documentary about someone’s life in CGI live action, hybrid and I doubt that it would Capture the magic that warner brothers animation group did Plus, Lego doesn’t have as much control over the Lego movie characters like they used to meaning that they would have to license all of them but unfortunately, they would it in the state. Ignore those movies and characters in favor of Marvel and Star Wars The only solution in bringing the Lego movie three back is if Warner Bros. decide to partner up with Lego again however not having the full control over publishing movies about Lego due to universal studios of Course And this will be a HBO max exclusive, and that’s sadly the only way no other solution

Fun fact: The Lego Abe Lincoln in the Lego movie was also voiced by the same actor of the Abe Lincoln in Clone High (which is Will Forte) which makes sense since Christopher Miller and Phill Lord created/worked on Clone High before The Lego Movie.

Are we not gonna mention the fact that we haven’t gotten anymore news on the upcoming LEGO movies since 2020? Keep in mind they made a 5 year deal, and that will end in 2025. If we don’t get anymore news related to upcoming movie, that means that the deal is done, LEGO will no longer make films with Universal, and Universal wasted their time on ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!

Dude, I'm REALLY sad LEGO Movie 3 was canceled. I loved LEGO Movie 2, and the Ninjago movie was actually pretty good...very weakly based on the series but I liked it. Like LEGO Batman, it was a parody. So DJ Wildstyle's story will never continue...that is very sad.

The LEGO Ninjago Movie was something that just hurt me in the soul considering how it took such a good show and just threw it out for something that feels so... safe. They especially ruined Zane, who was much less interesting in the film than he is in the show. I mean, I'd argue that the TV show that had been airing since like 2011 or so could be akin to a "Timmy's First Shonen", and it had some serious themess, such as Zane going through imposter syndrome in S4, Jay and Nya's relationship maturing in S6 in a way I never expected from a kid's show, Zane going through the difficulty of accepting the fact that he was an android and not human in S1, Lord Garmadon's character having a lot of nuance in the first several seasons, and so on and so forth.

I've said it before and I'll continue to stand by it, Lego Ninjago Movie and Lego Movie 2 are STUPIDLY underrated. Lego Ninjago Movie looks the best in terms of animation, with a mix of the same fantastic Lego stop motion and really solid live action backgrounds that somehow blends together INCREDIBLY well, and even if the original Ninjago show is better, the world of Ninjago is honestly pretty compelling to visit in movie form, and it works off of that foundation pretty well, even if it is technically an alternate universe to the TV show. Lego Movie 2, I'll admit the first movie was better, but it was still a really great movie with the same amount of personality in the rest of the movies, and even if he's a bad twist villain, Rex Whateverhislastnamewas was just a really cool counter to Emmet. Like the majority of people, I think that the first Lego Movie and Lego Batman were the best of the quadrilogy, but that doesn't mean that I think the last two are bad movies, far from it, and if someone is interested in either one of them, I'll wholeheartedly recommend that they watch the other movies as soon as they can.

personally, I really liked all the Lego movies that came out during the 2010s since they all seemed to have really good stories, even though Lego Ninjago wasn't as much of a favorite I still thought it was a fresh take on the franchise, although for the Lego Movie 2 I never ended up watching it because I remember seeing some reviews saying that it wasn't nearly as interesting as the first one and I saw a few clips of the movie later and thought it was very weird coming off of the original. Although, I do think the overall concept of the movie was pretty interesting and could work I think it was poorly executed. Hopefully at some point in the future we could see WB do some more like Lego Batman 2, Billion Brick Race, and some newer ideas since those still have a lot of potential and could still have a massive success. Maybe Universal could hire the same people who worked on those movies to be able to bring over those ideas and create what they had envisioned and maybe Lego would be willing to let WB and U share the license, but only time will tell.

I think part of why it was so successful as films and a toy commercial is because they tried to capture the essence of playing with LEGO, and they prioritized story and characters more than the brand (I don't think the word "LEGO" is ever mentioned in any of the movies). And even the worst of these films are a pretty good in quality.

I hope Universal Pictures can revive The Lego Movie franchise at some point, it’s been years since the last film (The Lego Movie 2) was released. I have just the idea on which line Universal can make for their first Lego Movie and that’s Bionicle. I know they made 3D animated films out of Bionicle in the mid to late 2000s, but they were all direct-to-video releases and they were made by Disney, Universal did distribute the 4th film _Bionicle: The Legend Reborn_ but that was a standalone feature to Disney’s trilogy. So it makes sense that Universal could do a theatrical Bionicle film as part of The Lego Movie franchise. But on certain terms that they don’t make it to be a cash grabber. The Bionicle film needs to have a interesting story something the audiences would follow. Also they could make it a fantasy film similar to _The Lord of the Rings_ trilogy with a mature tone with a tiny bit of humour added. So that’s my idea on how Universal could revive The Lego Movie franchise.

The ONLY thing that the Ninjago movie should've done to to be infinitely better is to try to appeal to the fans of the Show while giving an introduction of it to new audiences, a kind of remake to the Golden weapons hunt and the Green Ninja thing would've been perfect and also manageable for a movie length thing. Instead we got a Lloyd focused movie (Something the show also is at fault... A lot of times) with little screentime for the rest of the cast while also making them blankslates with one character trait (I believe Cole has around 5 minutes, including the time he's at the background) and a few nods to the show. The worst part is how the movie affected the show post season 10, season 11 was a disaster because of how similar the characters were to their movie counterpart (And also other stuff) and it's slowly recovering from that with season 13 being a really good arc for Cole and season 15 being amazing all around
