We actually moved 2 houses down once (sold our house & moved into a rental while our home was being built)...that was harder than we thought...thank goodness we had an army of friends & family helping us . I'm sure the neighbors thought we had 'lost it' as we walked items down the street...lol🤔😆😄

Sounds like a funny memory/experience! The first time our family had to move we only owned a small car and didn't think about renting a uhaul at first so we strapped mattresses and whatever literally to the roof of the car. We looked ridiculous, but then had people offer to help us. I still laugh about it to this day. Also, we now own a truck and an SUV. My daughter says it was traumatizing (she's 8) 🤦🏻♀️😂

I’ve never seen two double garages located the way this house has them. How great to have so much garage space for bicycles and lawn items etc. it was really convenient for Megan and Mike to do projects in too.

I know you are going to make many changes but so far your kitchen at the new house - I would die to have. It’s going to be so good for you to be able to live there and over time make the changes you want. God is amazing. He got you a house and storage unit! I thought the European tour in the van was exciting - nothing more exciting than to see your amazing talent make this house into your forever home. Ok I’m gushing. Thank you again for taking us along!

I’ve noticed that the last two places you have lived in had fireplaces. I don’t know if there are future plans for one in your new home, but there are some beautiful electric fireplaces available that don’t require permanent installation or a chimney. I have a home without a chimney suitable for a fireplace installation and my electric fireplace is the heart of my living room. They also have some good heaters on them to take the edge off of the chill if you don’t want to turn on the furnace.

I know what you mean with the family room having Soaring ceilings. We had a house like that and whoever was watching the TV in the Family Room was constantly turning up the volume if people were talking in the kitchen. Then the people in the kitchen would talk louder to hear each other over the TV volume and it just kept escalating back and forth! UGH! LOL!

I think your new location will work wonderfully for your teenagers...and almost teens. They...and you...will feel a new freedom living there. I love watching the progress of your work. Might be wise to set up an outdoor area in the backyard to escape to when the inside area closes in on you...at least during the summer and fall weather...similar to your woodsy area at other house. 🥰😍

Hi! Yes, the big house was perfect for your needs, but your needs change. With so many teenagers (soon-to-be ones and soon-no-more ones) the right thing to do is to downsize. Spend your money to run the family, not to run a house with much more space than you need. The little house might be cramped right now, but you will figure it out how to use timelord technology. Maybe so well, that you don't even need a second story. 🤪😉

If you take a framing stud from the doorway from the fridge, you need another way to reinforce the structure above the frame. There’s nothing vertical holding the door header up now so it needs either a longer header or some reinforcement.

Not sure if this worries you, but I noticed you can see the house number just before you cut away to your brother's house. Ya'll are tired, and my gosh is it understandable. Hang in there! Lots of people are rooting for you! Plus, seeing the fridge in place clarified your spatial plan for me. Depending on how storage works out, might it be worth looking for a cabinet from Re-Store/Marketplace to mount over it and paint out in the blue?

I mean I didn’t have the same budget as you guys with my husband being a teacher and then a principal, lol, but I felt the same way! Why would I pay extra to fix up a really nice house? And Heavenly Father blessed us with a gorgeous house to fix up. I knew we were supposed to move to this teeny tiny town in the middle of nowhere, several states from family, and I was willing to do what Heavenly Father wanted and this house was literally a gift from Him. We are not as skilled or as quick at fixing ours up as you guys, but I have been so inspired by you. 🙂

@@emm7528 - You should never use an extension cord with any major appliance. It should be plugged right into the outlet. The specs on the original appliance cord not matching the extension cord can cause problems like overheating or burnouts that can start a fire.
