Any questions about the SML-1 or SML-2 racks you felt went unanswered??

Yeah, my buddy had two of these for years and then he finally upgraded to the monster just so I can get more attachments and more new stuff

I think the monster series is over engineered, but man does it look sick af. Plus it has so much compatibility with other brands it is a great upgrade. I find that my Monster Lites do me just fine and I can get all the attachments I could want for a price that I want haha

This video was incredibly helpful. This helped me decide to go with the SML-1! What bench should I go with? I was considering the Rogue Monster Utility 2.0.
@Porkys.Powerhouse6 ай бұрын
The Rogue "Monster" utility bench 2.0 or just the Rogue "Flat" utility bench? I wouldn't recommend the monster bc at that point you're getting into the ballpark of adjustable benches which are way more versatile. At that point save up an extra $100 and get the REP AB-4100 hehe that's that GOOD good homie The flat however would be a good buy especially if you absolutely need "Rogue" on everything haha I have a Fringe Sport flat bench I bought for $50 used, rated for 880lbs and it works great for me! Also lightweight so even the lady can move it haha Rogue's, BOS's, and Fringe's are all comparable but Rogue's is $20 more than the other two at $195 before shipping n taxes.

@@Porkys.Powerhouse Alright, thank you! This was a very helpful video. I loved that you called it “The CHEAPEST quality rack NOBODY considers” because that is exactly how I felt about it. Everyone on KZbin was skipping right to the SML-2 and I couldn’t understand why. The SML-1 seems like it is perfect!

@@JAY-rahd_GI-benz Fax fax man, the SML-1 is like a twin bed mattress, small, compact, and SLEPT ON! But it gets the job done!! But it’s true fr, nobody talks about it so I thought I may as well haha But really the only difference is that the SML-2 lets you have pull ups. You could always upgrade, if you find it lacking or selling it for no big loss. You buy new or finding it used?!
@JAY-rahd_GI-benz6 ай бұрын
@@Porkys.Powerhouse I generally buy things new from the Rogue website. I really don’t even know where to look for used stuff.
@Porkys.Powerhouse6 ай бұрын
@@JAY-rahd_GI-benz I usually go on FB marketplace. I was able to get the SML-1 for $200 on there, only drove 20 min to get it. But, I am in a bigger city so it might be easier for me than others.

I have an SML-1 that I bought in 2020, when my gym closed. In general, I love it. Today I pulled the trigger on the BoS Hydra lat pulldown attachment and 43” crossmember. It doesn’t look like I need to add a conversion kit or anything to the Rogue squat rack to make this work - I have weight plates - but I’m wondering if you have any experience/perspective. Thanks!
@Porkys.Powerhouse5 ай бұрын
You the SML-1? Wouldn’t that be too short for the BOS PD? If you have what I’m imagining, you’d be putting all the strain of the weights on the guide rails, which is no bueno. I’d recommend getting the conversion (90” posts) to make it an HR-2 rack at the least for a crossmember to go under the PD horizontal at the top. A buddy has that exact set up with no issue, except that he has to be very mindful for reracking squats.

Had no idea less than 1 percent of men can bench 225. I feel special now, lol. I Thought 225 was more standard.

Social media has kinda skewed what is perceived as normal. If you look into stats, it can for sure be a confidence boost. But it’s best to compete against your past self rather than other people. Keep pushing but be safe doing it!

@JayWerx you inspired me for a video, all these months ago. Took a while, but made a bench vid with stats at the end 👍🏼

Great rack if your just doing pressing and squatting movements in other words the bare minimum.
@Porkys.Powerhouse4 ай бұрын
*You’re I understand the point of view man, if one could afford bigger, better things then they’re for sure out there. This is just the best BUDGET rack. But I’d argue that pulling exercises like rows are also very doable, especially with a landmine. Really, because the rack is so modular there is a lot that can be done with it, but you knew that from before watching my video and definitely after watching it ALL the way through right?? LOL

@@Porkys.Powerhouse I'm 63 now and my training since I left the gym some years ago consists of kettlebells, Maces, steel clubs, bulgarian bags, slam balls but I do miss not having a rack at home for the movements I mentioned earlier. I would probably get the HR 2 conversion mainly for plate storage and maybe an attachment or 2.

@@vicsophios4703 Apologies, apologies. I didn’t mean to say that having “bigger better” racks is the best move for everyone. Just that, that is what most people want. To each their own, especially at 63 you’re well above all your peers. Anything to keep someone moving is a good thing. Keep it up 👍🏼

One other question. I am approx 5 ft 10 and would I be able to use Mono Lifts in the SML 1?
