Some are. Reverb isnt cheap and the cheap reverbs all suffer from the same issues. The number one being the signal wont dry out; with the mix bottomed out, the effect saturation remains too high.
@stuartchapman5171
@stuartchapman5171 2 жыл бұрын
@@springbloom5940 another issue is that chasing that drip and Belt ane Brick sound, the algorithm used can give a horrible clicking sound on certain high mileage frequencies, this isn't as noticeable with guitar tones but screams with other gear, I use pedals for sound design and it's an issue finding a good low cost reverb. I'm loving that Snakebite. Will it click? I hope not. If you've experienced what I mean, avoid the Behringer silver multi reverb.

I would for that shimmer, as it gives a great hold, but he did say the wet fx are quiet and he was going to boost them post production, which could mean buying yet another cheap and disappointing reverb lol. I've had a few. The Azure is a winner for a one trick pony in a chain or a front of chain reverb. I like the Snake bite for a final reverb, at the end of multiple chains to tie them all in, shame it's not stereo. I did just buy the Donner Island Delay and Vintaverb, for their fancy shimmer and modulated fx, they're cheap and nasty in places, but they're stereo and at the price you can get twisted sounds more readily than an ON, EHX or Earthquaker.

Thanks Ryan for the affordable Reverb shootout! The Caline Snake Bite was the clear winner - Best tone, and versatility. I was surprised how disappointing the Mugig Reverburg was, as their Echoose delay was great in the previous video shootout. Just goes to show how valuable your shootouts are, I enjoy how much fun you have diming the knobs and going full stupid. That's often more revealing than one might think.

I have the Eno as my always-on reverb. With pedals there can be a tendency to go for the pedal with the most buttons because you think you're getting more features for your money. And I guess if you're buying online, until you try it you don't know which sounds you'll like. But if you're never going to adjust most of the settings, simplicity has its merits.

I bought the Azor pedal for surfy drip reverb after watching this video (4:44 in). I really like it. Just an observation though, for me it boosts volume when it's switched on (wet) compared to the off (dry) sound. It also seems to add some mid/hi EQ which also makes it a bit louder when it's on. I didn't really notice that in this video but it definitely does for me. This isn't a problem because I leave it on the whole time. But, if you were to add it once in a while (say for different songs) it does seems to boost the volume a bit. Actually, I do have a criticism. I don't understand why a surfy reverb pedal would be brown with an orange light. It should be blue or greenish-blue with a blue or a green light! But great tone and great price. : )

I ordered the Azor reverb, because I didn't like the built-in reverb on my 5150 Iconic 80w head. It's more like a multitap slap back than a reverb to me. I am in a hard rock retroish band (think sabbath, etc. But original) I don't use much reverb at all, I just like a taste on my guitar at all times. But when I plugged in my Azor, it sounded almost identical to the 5150's. Unfortunately, when I flipped my amp to the red channel, the reverb seemed to have an infinite tail-off, regardless of my settings on the pedal. So, it's unusable in my situation. I guess I can live with the on-board reverb.😢

Second or third the Mosky. I put synth and guitar through a mixer thence to the mosky. It’s perfect for a broader spectrum sound like a synth, plus only two knobs is a bonus in my book.

Crap, pulled this up to find a cheapie reverb.....and it cost me $380.....for the friggin guitar LOL. Well, I love my new Grote hollowbody, natural color, unlike that horrible red one you had, and it came basically ready to play, to my shock. I did put flat wounds on. This will be my first HB, though I have often looked at them. OK now which reverb pedal.....

Hi there. I know this is an old video. But I was looking around for an affordable reverb pedal. My Digitech Supernatural stopped working. I heard what I needed to hear. I play at church.. so the snake bite, I believe takes the win. The Azor also can be a contender..

At times you seem to forget these are cheap. The Azor has a large pre-delay for a cheapie. Sounds pretty good, The Reverburg is a real turd, I'd pay $25 to get rid of it. The 3C sounds pretty nice, a lot of pre-delay than spring really has. It is a nice sound. The Well sound is really cool and weird. it's "MOS-kee". Not "Mo-Sky". Like the 3C it's a good sound that will never be authentic at this price. Caline is clearly the best pedal on every point but the Mosky is good for low on all the time setting, except is it noisy? we never find out on KZbin videos.

to me the Azor sounds more like a Slapback Delay... Very fitting for surf rock for sure!

The Mosky Spring Reverb RULES! I paid $15 bucks for mine on Ali. Doesn't drip and that doesn't matter to me.

I have the Caline Snake Bite Reverb. It's the cheapest pedal on my board. And it's found a new home there permanently. I've tried so many reverb pedals (Boss, Hardwire, Biyang, Polara, TC, EH, etc....)and even a rack mount TC unit. Hated the reverb in all of them with my rig. I can dial in exactly what I want with the Snake Bite. It's made me like/use reverb again.

How would you compare the snake bite and the Biyang tri reverb?

Chorus is fine and good, but for a really good time, run a vibrato through a spring reverb. The little blue Kokko Vibrato is the cheapest I've found on Amazon and sounds great.

Azor wins for me. While good, the snakebite sounds just a wee bit too artifacty for my liking.

Some of these have some weird quirks, that technically make them bad as reverb, but the quirks are so interesting I would almost be inclined to buy them just to get the weird quirky sound. So bad, they're good, so to speak.

The Mosky looks like a clone of the Malekko Spring, which is pink mini with a barcode on it. Sells for about $140.

First pedal and I already feel like I wasted $25 on that stupid Behringer pedal. It sounds weird as you add in more reverb, just like that 2nd pedal how it buries the mix with more reverb.

The Mugig mix knob kills the dry signal when you turn it all the way up and you can run the 100% wet through a different amp. This is normal behavior for a mix knob. He seems surprised that his volume dropped without knowing why it may be useful in certain situations. For example you could pan your guitar hard left and only the reverberations hard right in recordings.

If it's great for surf rock then it's great for clean black metal! And if it's black metal you're after, well, golly gee, better throw that well reverb on and get weird with it!

That guitar is too surf specific - something less niche-sound is better for your demos. But thanks for the reviews. Oh, and everything in this video after 22:30 was a complete waste of your time and ours.
