Noted Freethinker and authour Ravichandran C is here talking about the formation of consciousness in human brain and its different levels. He also describes the salient features of self consciousness and postulates that it is a combination product of the neuro-chemical reactions performed in the brain. The evolution of consciousness as an outcome of natural selection is also dealt with. Dear Ravichandran Sir, what is the logical and rational plausibility of our assumption that physical objects which are made up of atoms (it is self-evident that atoms don't have any self-awareness!) , for example, a stone(or inorganic material) of certain mass(Kg), when subjected to evolutionary forces of magnitude of certain Newtons(N) for trillion, trillion, trillions of years or even infinite time , the stone will become 'self aware' in such a way that now the stone is able to 'think', 'aware', and 'reason' about even 'its' own existence and 'its' surroundings, able to grasp the laws of physics, mathematics, able to involve in logical reasoning, able to draw logical conclusions, etc.?

What is the prticle of consciousness? ഓരോ alphabet letter's ( അക്ഷരങ്ങൾ ) അതാണ് particle of consiousness. അല്ലാതെ ക്ലിൻ ക്ലിൻ ക്ലിൻ അല്ല. അത് സന്ദേശങ്ങൾ കൊണ്ട് പോകുന്ന ന്യൂറോൻസ് മാത്രമാണ്. സന്ദേശങ്ങൾ പോകുന്നത് ഉള്ളിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്ന അറിവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടിട്ടാണ്. ആ അറിവാണ് ആത്മാവ്. അതാണ് ബോധം. ആത്മാവ് എന്ന വാക്കിന് അറിവ് എന്നേ അർത്ഥമുള്ളു. കൂടെ കൂടെ ആക്ഷൻ കാണിച്ചു മനുഷ്യരെ ആധുനിക സയൻസ് വീതിയിലൂടെ കൊണ്ട് പോയി മനുഷ്യരെ വിഡ്ഢികളക്കുന്നു. സയൻസിനും വെളിച്ചം ആയിരിക്കുന്നത് അറിവാണ്. ആ അറിവിനെ ബുദ്ധി കൊണ്ട് വികസ്സിപ്പിക്കുക മാത്രമാണ് മനുഷ്യൻ ചെയ്യുന്നത്. താങ്കൾ പറഞ്ഞു വന്ന അറിവ് തന്നെയാണ് ആത്മാവ്. എന്നു പറയുന്നത്. ആത്മാവ് ഇല്ല ഇല്ല എന്നു പറയാൻ എളുപ്പമുണ്ട്. ഇല്ല എന്നു പറയുന്ന ഇല്ല എന്ന അറിവ് തന്നെ ആത്മാവാണ്. തുണി ഇല്ലാതെ നിൽക്കുന്ന പശുവിനോഡ് നിനക്ക് നാണമില്ലേ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചാൽ നാണം എന്ന വാക്ക് അതിന്റെ ഉള്ളിൽ ബോധം ആയി ഇല്ലാത്തതിനാലും അത് ഉച്ഛരിക്കാനുള്ള കഴിവ് ഇല്ലാത്തതിനാലും ഉണ്ട് എന്നും ഇല്ല എന്നും പറയുന്നില്ല. Seribrum, ceribellam, thalamus, hypothalamas, Mid brain. Pons, medulla Oblomgatta, spinal cord Periferrel nervous sistem Ennivayellam മൃഗങ്ങൾക്കുമുണ്ട് ന്യൂറോൻസും ഉണ്ട്. പക്ഷെ, താങ്കളെപ്പോലെ സംസാരിക്കുവാനും എഴുത്തുവാനും ഉള്ള കഴിവ് അവക്കില്ല. അതിനുള്ള കഴിവിനാണ് ആത്മചെയ്തന്യം എന്നു പറയുന്നത്. അറിവിനെ ഗ്രെഹിക്കുവാനും ആശയവിനിമയം നടത്തുവാനും അറിവിന്റെ വെളിച്ചത്തിൽ പുതിയ പുതിയ സൃഷ്ടികൾ നടത്തുവാനുമുള്ള കഴിവ്. റോബോർട്ടിനെ വികസ്സിപ്പിച്ചതും അറിവിന്റെ വെളിച്ചതിലാണ്. അല്ലാതെ മനുഷ്യ ശരീരത്തിന്റെ കഴിവല്ല.

If a 'materialist alien' come on Earth and start studying about different things here, his findings would be like: 1. The musical instruments accidentally got formed and they accidentally came together and hit with each other and by accidental coincidence the sounds synchonised with each other and became a song. (Many many accidents and coincidences is logical than the possibility of a single creator and music getting born in his mind and brought in to existence through different instruments and instrumentalists!!!!) 2. If this alien research on a box with a film roll of a complete movie, he will pile up huge data on the measurements of the film, materials, images and the variation of the images from one film to the other and so on and will declare at the end that the study is complete. What would he understand about the movie; the story, the emotions, relations, pain and pleasure, the music, etc ?!!! Music is not evolved from cassetes, Cds and Usb. Instead, they are designed to store and play music in a more and more advanced and sophisticated manner. Hardware is made for software and software is made by consciousness. DNA cannot be a library where books have no authors and readers. Materalism is denying consciousness blindly and trying to explain everything. Prof. Ravichandran is fixing that everybody on the other side are idiots and going down to the childish/idiotic level of thinking to find funny examples to tease. He thinks that everything connected to religion and spirituality are baseless exaggerations. What he does is just the opposite; looking at it through a lens making everything appear too small, silly and funny...

First of all .. if a Alien comes to earth, to us, his civilization will be MUCH MUCH MUCH more advanced than us because he has got the better knowledge of universe than us.and has done extensive research on the subject and is capable of understand things better because of higher intellect level than us humans.. and when he comes he will look at all humans like how we look and treat chimpanzees and when he sees ADULT Humans who cling on and says "CONSCIOUSNESS created by an external sentient being " he will take him and put in his laboratory for testing how can a fully grown human still have the intellect of an 1 year old chimpanzee

ബോധം എന്നത് അതി സങ്കീർണമായ ഒരു സമസ്യയാണ് എന്നു രവിചന്ദ്രൻസാർ സമ്മതിക്കുന്നു. കുട്ടിയുടെ ഉദാഹരണം വച്ച് ബോധത്തിന്റെ വിവിധഘട്ടങ്ങളെ വിവരിച്ചത് മനസിലായില്ല. കാരണം ബോധം എല്ലായ്‌പോഴും ഒന്നു തന്നെയല്ലേ.? ബുദ്ധിയാണ് മസ്തിഷ്കത്തിനനുസരിച്ചു വികസിക്കുന്നത്. പ്രായം ചെന്നതിനു ശേഷം മസ്തിഷ്കത്തിനു വരുന്ന മാറ്റം മൂലം ചിലപ്പോൾ ചിലർ കുട്ടികളെ പോലെ ആകാറുണ്ടല്ലോ..? ഒരു ഏകകോശജീവിയിലും മനുഷ്യനിലും ഒരേ ബോധം തന്നെയല്ലേ ഉള്ളത്..? പക്ഷെ മനുഷ്യന്റെ മസ്തിഷ്കം ബോധത്തേ ബുദ്ധിയിലേക്കു പരിവർത്തനം വരുത്തുന്നു. അബോധാവസ്ഥഎന്നാൽ ബോധം ഇല്ലാത്ത അവസ്ഥ എന്നത് പഴയ സങ്കല്പമാണെന്ന് തോന്നുന്നു. കാരണം ഇന്നു കോമ സ്റ്റേജിൽ പോലും സ്വപ്‍നദർശനം ഉണ്ടാകാം എന്ന് ന്യുറോ ശാസ്ത്രംഞൻ മാർ വാദിക്കുന്നുണ്ടല്ലോ.? അതിനർത്ഥം ഗാഢനിദ്ര എന്നത് ബോധം ഇല്ലാത്ത അവസ്ഥയല്ല മറിച്ചു ബോധം പ്രതിഫലിപ്പിക്കപെടാത്ത അവസ്ഥ എന്നല്ലേ.?? ബോധാവസ്ഥയിൽ പ്രത്യക്ഷഞ്ജാനത്തിൽ (sense ) നിന്നും അനുഭവം (ദർശനം, സ്പർശം, രുചി, മണം, കേൾവി ). സ്വപ്നത്തിൽ ഇതേ അനുഭവങ്ങൾ മസ്തിഷ്കത്തിൽ 100billion ന്യുറോണുകളിൽ ആലേഖനം ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുള്ള മെമ്മറിയിൽ നിന്നും ഇതേ അനുഭവം ഉണ്ടാകുന്നു. ബോധം പൂർണമായും ഇല്ലാതാവുന്നു എങ്കിൽ പിന്നെ സ്വപ്നം കാണുന്നത് ആരാണ്.?

അഹം ബ്രഹ്മ അസ്മി,,, " എന്നതിന് "ഞാൻ തന്നെ ദൈവം എന്നു ലളിതമായ ഭാഷയിൽ പറയാം. അതുകൊണ്ട് ദൈവത്തെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നത് ഒരർത്ഥത്തിൽ ഞാൻ എന്ന ബോധത്തേ തന്നെ അന്വേഷിക്കലാണ്. ഭൗതികവാദപ്രകാരം പദാർത്ഥമെന്നത് നിർജീവമാണ് ആദിയും അന്തവും ഇല്ലാത്തതുമാണ്. അതുകൊണ്ട് അതിന് ബോധം ഉണ്ടെന്ന് ഒരു ഭൗതികവാദിയും രവിചന്ദ്രൻ സാർ ഉൾപ്പെടെ അംഗീകരിക്കുകയില്ല. എന്നാൽ പദാർത്ഥങ്ങൾ ഒരു സവിശേഷ അനുപാതത്തിൽ ചേരുമ്പോൾ ബോധം അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ജീവൻ ഉണ്ടാവുന്നു. പദാർത്ഥങ്ങളുടെ ചേരുവ വേര്പെടുമ്പോൾ ബോധവും നശിക്കുന്നു. എന്നാൽ ഭൗതികശാസ്ത്രം പ്രകാരം നാശം എന്നത് ദ്രവ്യ - ഊർജപരിവർത്തനം മാണ്. അപ്പോൾ ബോധത്തിനും ഇതേ നിയമം ബാധകം അല്ലേ.? ഏതൊരു വസ്തുവിന്റെയും സൂക്ഷ്മാവസ്ഥ അതിന്റെ തന്മാത്ര യാണ് എന്നു സാർ തന്നെ സമ്മതിക്കുന്നു. അതിനെ വീണ്ടും വിഭജിച്ചു ചെന്നാൽ ന്യുട്രോണും, എലെക്ട്രോണും ക്വാർക്കും പിന്നെ നെഗറ്റീവ്, പോസിറ്റീവ് ചാർജ് കളിലും ഒക്കെ ചെന്നെത്തും. ഈ ചാർജ്കൾ എങ്ങിനെ രൂപം കൊണ്ടു..? ഇന്നും ശാസ്ത്രത്തിനു വ്യക്തമായ ഉത്തരം ഇല്ല. അതുകൊണ്ട് ദൈവവും ആത്മാവും ഉണ്ടെന്നു പറയുന്നില്ല. അവ്യതിരിക്തമായ (primordial undifferentiated matter )ഒരു ദ്രവ്യപിണ്ഡത്തിൽ നിന്നാണ് ചാർജുകളും ക്വാർക്കും ഒക്കെയായി ചലനം ആരംഭിച്ചത് എന്നു ഭാരതീയ ദര്ശങ്ങളെ അടിസ്ഥാനമാക്കി അനുമാനിക്കാം. ഓരോ ചലനത്തിന് പിന്നിലും അത് വ്യഷ്ടിഗതമോ (microcosmic ), സമഷ്ടിഗതമോ ആകട്ടെ ഒരു ലക്ഷ്യം ഉണ്ട്. ദ്രവ്യ ത്തിന്റെ ഏകീഭാവം (harmony )തന്നെയാണ് അത്. ചലനവും പരിണാമവും ബോധവും ഒക്കെ ആകസ്മികമായി സംഭവിക്കുന്നു എന്നു കരുതുവാൻ എന്തുകൊണ്ടോ സാധിക്കുന്നില്ല.

JESUS AND NANAK PREACHED "ISLAM" This may sound extremely odd to many but the few chosen, who understand the New Testament and The AD-GRANTH SAHIB by "spirit" know it very well that Gospel is actually centred on "ISLAM". Islam stands for one's "SUBMISSION TO THE WILL OF GOD" i.e. to the Righteousness of God and not to the wills or edicts of Mullahs, Popes, or the other so-called priestly impostors who impose their own righteousness upon others. Jesus presents an excellent example of "Islam" in Luke 9.51-56: And it came to pass, when the time was come that He should be received up, He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem. And sent messengers before His face; and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for Him. And they did not receive Him, because His face was as though He would go to Jerusalem. And when His Labourer Friends and not the once-born disciples James and John saw this, they said, Friend and not Lord as Lords are enslavers and have slaves under them, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did? But He turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. For the Son of Man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. And they went to another village. That is Jesus did not impose His own will or righteousness but left the villagers to the Will of God in which the person has absolute "Freedom" either to accept His Will, "Islam" and enjoy the PEACE OF MIND or to reject it and make the world a living hell. This is the true definition of "Islam" and if we define religion as one's duty towards God, then we say the religion of Jesus was Islam; whilst the present Pope, Bishops, priests, Mullahs, or other religious impostors who impose their own wills upon others through edicts and Fatwas have nothing to do with The "Real Islam" of Allah or God that supports "humanity" but they are rather the Blind guides of the blind leading their fanatic flocks into pit or the clever psychics best represented as the Most High Satan Al-Djmar Al-Aksa at Mina, who are leading their blind mountain of followers into strife and killing. Recently, the deposed Morsi, the President of Egypt tried to do and plunge the country into the sectarian riots. Egypt, the country of the sons of Ishmael has great affinity to Adam and that will keep them safe and sound. The same has been stressed by SATGURU = Christ NANAK DEVJI in the last verse of the first stanza of JAPJI SAHIB, "HUKAM RAZAIE CHALNA, NANAK LIKHIA NAAL" i.e. the Way to Salvation in this Dark Age is to go by the Will of God and in addition to it there is the pre-destination that also plays part. In fact, this Dark Age as it has already been stressed is the Age of "spirit" or SURTI and not of the "works" anymore as it used to be when the Rabbis and the Pandits were honest and true to Matt.13.52. Because the Rabbis and the Pandits had become corrupt and in-efficient due to greed that God sent His own anointed Christs in the names of Jesus and Nanak to preach the Gospel, called the Good News because it is always received through revelations. God being spirit, so only the predestined people of "spirit" can understand Gospel. People of spirit are rare to come by and this is amply reflected in asking the so-called Christians, Sikhs, Hindus, etc. whether they believed in Islam or not? Most of them, especially the academicians, will say "no". In brief, initiation into "Islam" takes place through the ceremony of "HAJJ" which is to make only the male children of 12 to 16 years of age "fatherful" or the "sons of Man" or "INSAAN". Only the "sons of Man" could become the "sons of God" through the grace of Allah. Thus, by becoming a "son of Man", the person just approaches the "threshold" of Islam. This is First Will of Allah that you should not conceal your tribal identity or you become a son of Satan. You did not take birth in a certain family, clan, race, country, etc. but by the Will of our Father Allah. The aim of Islam is to make the people "Mussallman". The word "Mussallman" stands for "Mussallum - firm; Eeman - faith in Allah". Thus, a true Mussallman is expected to be a "truthful, which is the raw or Kacha Eeman, and contented, which is the firm or Puka Eeman, person who exercises 'mercy', the Character of Allah, in his deeds". And this is how Satguru Nanak Dev Ji defined a "Mussallman": "MUSSALLMAN MOOM DIL HOWAE, ANTTER DI MAEL DIL TAE DHOWAE" i.e. a true Mussallman is a "merciful" person who washes the "internal filth" of the five temptations of heart over his "heart". Or you worship Allah in Truth and in spirit. Those who are not of spirit are caught by the sons of Most High Satan into the Mountains of Fanatics. Thus, all the "truthful", "contented", called the "Royal Kings" and "merciful" people of the world for being going by the "Will of God" and not imposing or going by their own wills go by the tenets of "ISLAM" and, therefore, "ISLAM" is the universal religion of all the people having "Firm Faith in God" i.e. their own wisdom is "she" to That of God. In fact, Islam being the Religion of Allah, the Primary Source of Gospel i.e. "SUN", the Mullahs, Popes, Granthis and the others have no place in True Islam and in Islam, it is the cleanliness of the heart reflected by one's conscience or NEEYAT that counts and not the idle "works". So, in Islam one's conscience, in which "one treats others as one wishes to be treated", bears "fruit". Therefore, a true "merciful" Mussallman never kills or robs another person for the sake of his property or imposes his own views upon the others. Therefore, the past invaders in the name of "Islam" being "cruel" were nowhere near a true "Mussallman" but they were rather the infidels or Kafirs. And this is the time for them to pay the cost of their cruel past deeds. A typical example will clarify the above concept. Ahmad Shah Abdali invaded India and was taking the booty of material wealth and women away. The Khalsas of the Royal King Gobind Singh Ji could tolerate the material loot of this infidel invader but not the honour (PATT) of the people, the women being taken away as booty. As the Khalsas are to preserve the "PATT" or honour of the people, so they intercepted the invader and in the ensuing battle, they made Ahmad Shah Abdali to run for his life and in the process, some of his queens were left behind. The Khalsas being the enforcers of "Islam" treated the queens as their sisters and returned them safe and sound back to Ahmad Shah Abdali. That was a great surprise for the infidel Ahmad Shah Abdali of Afghanistan. Now, in this example, we shall term the "Khalsas" as true Mussallmans fighting for the rights of others. Thus, to be a true Mussallman is not a joke and the true Labourers of Christ Jesus and Christ Nanak are also the "true Mussallmans", who are contented with their lots and display mercy in their "deeds". As in Allah, people pay for their past "deeds" within a short span of time, so the present sufferings of people could be the result of their past "deeds". No wonder the poor countries that were the subject of oppressions in the past, shall inherit the "Royal Kingdom of God". "INSHALLAH, GOD, AND NOT THE MAN, BE WILLING, INSHMULLAH, INSHPOPE, ETC."
