If you’ve watched several Bears games you’d see that Caleb just hasn’t performed as a good qb…running around too much and doesn’t seem to throw it deep, hence the reduction in interceptions…and the dude can’t adjust protections to save his life which results in him running for his life. It’s not like he doesn’t have weapons on offense either.

I don't think its fair to say they failed him. He has Allen, Odunze, and Moore (from the Panthers), and an above average RB in Swift. He has one of the best defenses in the league, and their offensive line has had struggles, but there no where near as bad as people say. The Bears actually gave him talent. Drake Maye is in a WAY worser situation than him, his offensive line, and recievers are arguably the worst in the league, and he's not getting sacked as much compared to Caleb. In another game, the Bears offense had just 4 yards of total offense by half time, which is the fewest of any team in 24 years. No team is perfect, but for a 1st overall pick, he has arguably the best supporting cast. Im going to give him grace since hes a rookie, but he's not playing good. And all of his wins were against teams during their worst moments.
@melohopkins5480Күн бұрын
Caleb has more talent around him than any number 1 pick in I don’t know how long . The Bears organization isn’t good but Caleb himself is def a big part of the problem . The bears have more talent than Washington, New England and Denver by a mile and their rookie quarterbacks are playing better or just as good. I’m not saying he’s a bust at all but he’s not playing well . He’s had poor accuracy and poor timing even with clean pockets

Wait a minute; Justin Fields had even less that Caleb, and it was all his fault? True the situation isn't ideal, but look what Jayden Daniels did with the symbol of misery that had been the Commanders. Caleb, remarkably, still hasn't learned that this isn't college, in the NFL you take what the defense gives you, there is no time to wait.

Jayden Daniels also has a coach that has been to a Super Bowl before. Look I’m not saying Caleb doesn’t deserve some blame he does. But to expect for him to come in and turn around a franchise with horrible coaching and a terrible O-line is just crazy. They had 3 games won but the field goal attempts were blocked and the coach didn’t call a timeout in a crucial moment. That’s not on Caleb.

Blaming the offensive line is a copout. CW gets blitzed endlessly because he can't throw under pressure. No reason for opposing teams to do anything else and they've all figured that out now.. Then again, he admitted during a press conference i July that he can't handle the blitz, so it wasn't exactly much of a secret. Only the QB can beat back the blitz by throwing accurate passes under pressure and by intelligently extending plays so routes can develop and then hitting those routes on time. Sure, sometimes he gets sacked after 1.5 seconds because he failed to see the blitz and set his protection, but other times he has an absurd 13 seconds to deliver a pass and then walks himself into a sack anyway. Bad coaching, mismanagement, lack of development: call it whatever you want, but the root of the Bears' problems right now is Caleb Williams. He's simply not playing competently at QB. Many important aspects of that job he simply isn't doing at all. But if it is the coaching, this was inevitable when the Bears did not clean out the staff last year when the decision was made to draft him. They went into the year with Eberflus. Enjoy!

The Giants offensive lines woes are arguably much worse because we’ve been trying to fix the o-line since at least 2016.
@abelincoln6785Күн бұрын
Caleb is the main problem not the other way around. Slow reading defense, can't thrown on time, can't play within the offense, terrible accuracy, no long ball, holds ball to long, takes sacks, bad footwork, refuses to stand in and make a throw, can't throw the receivers open, can't throw over the middle consistently. Average time to throw is at the bottom of the NFL and was in college. He has to fix himself but he won't. The interception record is more of an indication that he can't throw into small windows so he throw it away. You are refusing to use your own eyes. Quit blaming the GM. Its Caleb - see Nix, see Daniels, see Pennix. Rather have a guy who is smart than an athletic QB. Caleb is not smart FB wise.

It worked every time I saw it--literally. I don't know who was responsible for the coverage calls, but regardless, not one single time did the Bears offensive line get themselves correctly positioned to even slow the blitz down. Every time the Seattle blitzed at least one and usually two rushers came storming in at Williams completely untouched. Damnedest thing I'd ever seen in a professional football game. I kept waiting for them to adjust the blocking scheme, and waiting...and waiting...

It's like DJ Moore played better with Justin Fields when Justin Fields was the Bears quarterback last year, Rome Odunze is a rookie this year and he has promise but he's their slot wide receiver. Hopefully the bears get better but saying Tyler Huntley a man that can barley stay in the NFL is better than Justin is crazy. Also the bears defense was historically great with mitch and they had a good run game with Jordan Howard. Mitch had Allen Robinson who was a top wide receiver. Justin's best receiver came his last year with the bears. Before DJ Darnell Mooney and Cole kmet was his only targets with one of the worst O-lines in football.

The offensive coordinator thought the same thing and was pushing to bench JF because of his inability to read defenses. JF came to a team with the same weapons you’re praising. Allen Robinson was on that same playoff team and JF had him to throw to but now you’re gonna say he washed up by then even though it was literally months later. I guarantee Mike Tomlin will not push to sign him for starting quarterback salary.
