Stoked you got it working! I had the same reaction first time I rode the one I built. The nice thing about that hub motor is that its rated wattage is 8,000w but it will peak at like 22,000w+ (which I have done) depending on the battery ya use, ya just don't want to hold it there too long or the hub will overheat or possibly fail. QS says the top speed on that hub is like 75-80mph but I've had mine up to 94mph and it gets there quick 😁

For silence hub motors are way better compared to the zero line with a chain setup. Despite the big upgrade to the hub, near dead silent at city speeds.
@aflacduck24 жыл бұрын
Zero uses Gates belts. I dunno if the earlier ones used chains but it's been belt driven for many years now. I would take mid drive over hub any day. Placing all that stupid heavy weight on the wheel is not gonna last long. These hub style lynch motors are notorious for needing tons of maintenance on spokes from that weight. There's plenty of room where the gas tank/engine would be for batteries. Putting the controller where the gas tank goes is not ideal since there's no good air flow cooling it. Controllers should only be internal if you can get the cooling(using liquid at that point) otherwise sticking them in front where radiators typically go is best. Sorry but the only place I see for hub style motors is very niche cases. This is going to cost him alot more money than if he got a used Zero and would be 10x better off. He could then make videos about modding a good high quality motorcycle than constantly fixing and praying the bike itself doesn't kill him by catastrophic failure.

@@B_aka_Scias SMP180-05 also known as the 5.2KW motor from a Sur Ron or their 8KW version called the SMP180-08. $650/900 respectively. www.sur-ron.com/en/power.html You can buy the motor from lunacycle or ebikezilla (us/canada). I would not recommend the Sur Ron controller, get an ERT version of ASI BAC4000 or BAC8000. Either are much much better controllers and the BAC4000 is only a hundred more than an X controller from Sur Ron, way way worth it. You can also buy wiring harness, throttle cable, connectors, etc from either site above. The 5.2KW motor has been used in upto 96V. From the factory, it's used at 60V to get 5.2kW. Some people have put 33Kw through it and burned out the motor in 1 lap at Laguna due to heat since it's air cooled. Personally, I would wait for Sur Rons new Storm Bee platform to come out with it's 96V system from the factory and a new 10KW water cooled motor with gearing. Even if it ends up not being something you would need, surely the prices of the older systems would come down.

@HalkerVeil4 жыл бұрын
@@KLRkillerfeeshy It's electric. Those brakes won't do a thing with that motor at full, electrical short or not. And there is no kill switch for a short. I once had a toaster that never turned off. No reason. Of course I unplugged it like you would hit a kill switch on this. But it's a switch. Switches fail and anything conductive on it can bypasses it. On top of that it's from China. So was my toaster come to think of it.

José Villaró there is no edge on a flat earth. You can’t have gas pressure without a container, hence we live in a container. Does your water fall off the edge of your bottle of water? No because there is no edge.

So, you talked about some vibration at the bottom end. In the last video you said you changed the phase wire (which is why the motor was going backward, on BLDC motors you change one wire and the motor change direction), but if you did not change the hall effect sensor according to the phase (green, yellow and blue), the motor might not understand in which position it's in (causing the vibrations) What i advise you to do is to follow the colors for phase and hall effect and don't check the change direction box, you might even gain power on the bottom end. Have a good day man.

Modification isn't legal in China.
@guruprasadgawali4 жыл бұрын
@@S2Tubes modification of any type other than OEM registered with that bike is illigal everywhere including colouring, wrapping, changing horn, modifying exhaust, changing lights etc., But in most of the case they ignore it but if u modify the output power, capacity, top speed, acceleration u have to register with the local authorities and get certified it doesn't matter what parts u mixed up untill they meet the norms they register it if they are diy u have to pay testing fee they will lab test it's reliability, performance, consumption values, mileage etc., And they will provide a certificate stating it's a new kind of vehicle and if u reproduce the same bike duplicate copies of the same can be registered directly with the regional transport department.

Hey man, you should change your extensions when you get the chance. Separate strands run the risk of a single strand breaking and the rest of the strands getting burned up from increased resistance and current. Get some good big gauge wire

the instant of extra acceleration when you release the throttle may be residual energy in the capacitors and/or simply the result of instant throttle response - on a petrol bike, the power band is a bit different so you let off the throttle and feel decceleration. On electric vehicles, your power output is exactly related to throttle position. I ride a DIY electric motorcycle as well and have learned to close the throttle more quickly when letting off from wide open acceleration

It appears a majority of our stupid population is totally ok with the destruction of our economy while they cower in their bedrooms behind Chinese Masks waiting for the All Clear. It’s for our own good you see! Anyone who has fought or died for our Nation is dishonored by these actions. I did 6 years and now work for 2 FD. Sorry for my choice of words
