Hands down the best technique channel for weightlifting on KZbin. Just straight to the point, no unnecessary talking. Pure weightlifting.

Best clean tutorial ive seen. Looks easy seeing him do it but hard to do and time plus having the necessary mobility. My form still sucks more than a year doing cleans.

No audio is good because sound distracts you from examining the angles of the lift as he dissects all the various segments. Very impressed by the quality of this tuition....very scientific...important information at each segment well highlighted. I can practice each segment separately and then put it all together. Well done. This is the teaching - from a medalist Olympic weightlifter - that we need.

This video shows exactly what a lot of beginner cleaners don't understand. You're not pulling the bar upward so much as you're jumping with it, then getting under it as it reaches peak momentum.

I've been incoporating cleans back into my training and I have to say it's frustrating trying to perfect the technique. Football strength and conditioning years ago ruined me, coach taught me how to just muscle clean the weight up and now I subconsciously try to do that any time the weight is heavy. I'm trying to learn how to get under the bar so I can use more weight.
@dp15695 жыл бұрын
Look up Mike Burgener, do his warmup routine and you will really learn how to drop under the bar.

I love these new videos but honest feedback: having no sound is a little weird. I had to play another video just to make sure I hadn't muted the audio on my computer. Videos like this are amazing with a nice voice over and some background music. That being said, I'll watch an Oleksiy video any day regardless if it's silent or not!

i find the top of aleksey's extension really interesting, not as much of a lean-back as most eastern european lifters. looks more like how the germans like max lang clean
@bentaggart27075 жыл бұрын
It's a fault in technique, they're both cutting their pull and not finishing extension. Probably because the weight is too light in this case but for Lang it's a technique flaw.
@tinyfrogman695 жыл бұрын
@@bentaggart2707 thought as much. though max being an elite made me second guess myself. i wonder why this coaches don't make him pull harder
@bentaggart27075 жыл бұрын
@@tinyfrogman69 it probably fucks up his clean. He's been doing it that way for so long that he's gotten good at doing it that way. Sure he could spend years trying to perfect it but that isn't going to win him medals.
@ah70275 жыл бұрын
well for one your right it is a light weight but regardless the less lean back you have the better the lift will be. from what I could observe once you see someone start to lean back they are near the max weight they can lift and they are trying everything possible to get the bar up. Excessive lean back isn't good technique and can lead to a bigger jump back or less speed under the bar.
@bentaggart27075 жыл бұрын
@@ah7027 I'm not talking about leaning back I'm talking about fully extending. Without full extension you lose power. Cutting your extension is not a good thing. Leaning back too far is also a fault in technique, although some lean back is inevitable as our body needs to get around the bar somehow. But leaning back and extending are not the same.
