one thing i read on a forum goes as follows, “it’s not what you go to college for, it’s HOW you go to college that will make college worthwhile”

@ here’s a list: - relevant internships (the most important) - connecting with professors (super helpful) - joining clubs and getting leadership positions in those clubs - joining a fraternity - 3.5+ gpa - making lifelong friends you genuinely vibe with - being friendly with everyone because you never know when you’ll need something from them - networking with professionals in your city/alumni from your school

College is just a tool like most things. How you use that tool determines if it’s worth it or not. But college or not, you need a well thought out and detailed plan of what you’re going to do after hs, what your goal is and what steps do you need to hit that goal
@shafialanower3820Ай бұрын
Damn this hit all the truth points it’s all about how you utilize college and the connections/opportunities it offers. Unfortunately I was too hate to realize and suffer the consequences. Hopefully people realize by now not to waste time in college. Take it very seriously and go above and beyond. Don’t settle for average

I took a gap year for college, i was supposed to graduate college in 2025, now its 2026. College is absolutely worth it in my opinion. I discovered what i wanted to do for my life and found my purpose. I was lost post high school and felt miserable in 2021. Now i feel more motivated to hustle and actually go for a masters degree one day.

I regret not going to college with a plan. If I could do it over, I would have done more research on high paying careers that align with my skills/interests, and chosen my college path based on that. Too many students go to college because of societal pressure, and end up choosing generic majors that don't lead to specific high paying jobs. Most graduate and end up in a low paying job that has nothing to do with their degree. Meanwhile they have a mountain of student loans to pay back.
@yoboybigj87524 күн бұрын
Honestly if you did go to college there way too much competition try to find a job.I think of degree as food business just a lot of people with the same degree and skil same walking down the street see a lot of restaurant competing with each other l..Now we have AI so that will be taking people jobs away soon or later in tech industry

I feel like college is how you take it or use it because for me it help me find who I was as a adult and taught me what my passion is as I started to understand who I am, but than at the same time it could be a waste if you don’t use it right now

Another option is enlisting in the military. I enlisted in the army national guard as a cav scout before going to school and eventually joining the ROTC program. I always recommend someone to check out the military if they do not go to college. Going to combat and to war for your country is an experience at a young age where you can gain leadership skills and the ability to think under pressure at a young age. No other organization will offer a young person that kind of opportunity. In addition, the military can pay for your school. If you go into the reserves/national guard(depends on the branch) your college can be paid for as long as you fulfill your military commitment and are willing to give up somewhat of a social life to serve your country. You go active duty and choose a non-combat MOS? It can also give you skills and paid training. But the disadvantage is that you will mature quicker and you will miss out on being "young" like most college students. But it is worth it in my opinion. Just like college, the military is what you make of it.
