It was one of the saddest and heartwarming scenes in "Star Wars: The Clone Wars". I love how Gregor made his final stand so the D-Squad could deliver encryption module to the Republic. Gregor was one of my top 5 clone commanders and captains in the Star Wars series. The way they reintroduced him in Rebels was a very cheerful moment for me. How he died fighting for something he chose to believe in was a touching moment in the finale episode of Rebels. May he rest in peace knowing he fought for freedom one last time. The comic probably only shows one small part of the larger battle, where Cody and his men managed to achieve a small victory in the middle of an otherwise total disaster. Gregor and his troops were in a different sector of the same fight and got slaughtered, as did most of their comrades.

I just rewatched the entire clone wars show and since i didnt like the d-squad that much that was the first time ive seen this episode since it aired. at that time i didnt catch the mention of Sarrish but on the rewatch i did. really exited about the connection. i instantly pulled out that comic, when i heard the name. i think its the first comic i ever bought so im exited that sarrish is canon.

Slight correction: You mention a couple times that Gregor said that the Battle of Sarrish(?) was one of the Republic’s most devastating losses against the Separatists. When, in fact, this was made known *to* Gregor by Col. Meeber Gascon when Gregor’s records/files up to that point were being read by the Colonel.

From his point He was with his fellow commandos in a gunship then one of the members said to Gregor congratulations on getting a hire rank and then they talk then suddenly the clone pilot told them that commander Cody is saying there orders the 5 commandos including Gregor looked at the hologram and commander Cody said there adjectives was to eliminate an artillery piece that wasn’t in ranged of kenobis artillery soon after a group of LAATs appeared carrying different teams of commandos with the same orders but different places and then the clone pilot said get ready and when he opened the doors Gregor saw the other LAATs and then the gunship neared its destination getting closer and closer and finally the got off the gunship and grappled there way up there was droids guarding the artillery but didn’t knew the presents of the commandos soon after they destroyed all of the droids with 2 of the commandos shooting the gunner of the artillery then a big opened releasing a horde of commando droids they dodged the incoming blaster fire coming from the three commandos the 2 commandos was arming the charges and the three commandos including Gregor covered them and then once the commando droids got close the 5 commanders made a circle and one of them saying it’s a bad idea but destroyed all of the commando droids after this one commando was saying that how easy this droids where and how they got easily took down and said he was expecting a better fight and then they got away from the artillery and set off the explosive not long after the 5 commandos heard loud explosive sounds all around and then they finally called an LAAT then one came and then they came aboard they saw another commando team fresh from there mission and then they made it back the battlefield Gregor not knowing that they where above a battlefield with clones and droids battling then the LAAT opened its doors and the commandos saw that the fortress fell and soon after b1 b2 battle droids came out rank by rank and then a new creation of the separatists came out a droid gunship as soon as they saw this they realized that it wasn’t a fortress it was a factory then new droid gunships came and destroyed some of the gunships inside was commandos and one droid gunship shot the LAATs engine the same LAAT Gregor was riding and then they went crashing down and Gregor survived I don’t know if the other commandos survived or how he escaped the battlefield

Albert Einstein Here's the thing. The EU was never considered, shall we say, "hard" canon. It was considered "soft" canon. George was allowed to borrow or contradict as he wanted. The fact that Delta Squad and Clone Commandos exist is one example of something that was borrowed. While Kyber crystals and Mandalorians is something that was changed quite a bit. The rebranding of EU to Legends is the best move that Disney/Lucasfilm did. The EU was a mess, particularly when considering the Jedi and the Force. And it was full of continuity mistakes. And if it had been kept, everything we would be getting would simply adaptations of EU material. And adaptations are very dangerous ground. Finally, unless the new canon directly contradicts something from Legends, just think of it as true. I can't really think of anything that contradicts Republic Commando, or KOTOR or SWTOR, so until something does. Just consider them as canon.

But who cares what's cannon? I can't understand the importance that's placed on canonisation because it doesn't matter. Who cares of the Old Republic isn't cannon anymore, you cans till read the books and play the games. Those stories haven't changed and there is nothing from stopping you from enjoying them. Canonisation is completely arbitrary and artificial, why does it matter that it is no longer the "true version" of events if the "invalid version" is still there to be enjoyed?
