This definitely tugged at my heartstrings. Sometimes when I see abandoned buildings I have often thought, wow, what a waste. There are so many homeless people that could stay in those and appreciate the shelter. This just goes to show that part of humanity that we often forget about. Blessings take on many different meanings in life, don't they? Great video Adam. Thank you for sharing this.

+mellymuse1 Yes, that's true. People have to survive and they have to do what they have to do during these tough economic times. It makes no sense to let abandoned buildings sit empty when people can live in them. If the property owners were doing something with those properties, then that would be different. Abandoned properties shouldn't go to waste when there is a need.

Man this video was great. I actually was in a very similar situation in Italy when I was exploring an abandoned cement factory. I noticed that on the top floors of some of the buildings there were people watching me while hiding behind the window frames. They seemed very frightened since there have been police raids there before to kick them out. They lived in really poor sanitary conditions and most of them looked like they needed medical help. It's a sad world where there is enough for everybody yet some want it all to themselves.

It's incredible when the law comes and tries to ruin things like this - as if forcing people out of a derelict property, where they have made some kind of home out of something completely unused and abandoned and to force them out onto the street or under a bridge etc....I understand the property has an owner (probably a bank that took over after the builders lost funding or went under) that can't have the risk of people there whether for insurance means or for the fact of trying to sell the property it just sucks for those who can truthfully make that property a live able place ...It really is incredible what some like Tinker Bell has done with their own little space and ingenuity that she could not have otherwise. Good on you Mr. Woo for hooking them up with a bit of supplies and food. I'm sure they enjoyed your visit and meeting a cool person who came to the "compound" for once...I'm sure they were suspicious at first seeing a random guy walking around filming !! Haha

+Melissa Isom I live within 100 yards from this place and these people are just making it trashier and trashier. The city has tried multiple times to come in and pick up the trash and re-paint these buildings and within weeks these people tag them up and leave more trash everywhere. They are the ones who started the fires. That building has been lit on fire twice an i am sure it was from them doing drugs. i agree people need shelter but ask yourself this. Would you want this building withing eyesight from your house? would you want your children playing outside while these vagrants are wondering around mostly on drugs. i know not all are on them but he only interviewed a couple out of the 50 living there

There are people who are homeless who are just down on their luck, but the vast majority of them are long-term homeless because of drug addiction and/or mental illness. A lot of these people are desperate. You're walking around with a nice camera and they see drug/meal money just sitting there in your hand. They ended up being nice people and good on you for helping them out, but you should probably avoid going up into their domain without someone else with you.

I mean, WTF do we pay tax for? shouldn't a homeless shelter be in every town? I mean we got 30+ fucking churches in banning alone. another 20+ in Beaumont. no homeless shelter (we taxpayers should have shit prepped in case we ourselves need to use it) and the city says it "cares"?????? yeah, it cares until you become homeless... then fuck you, you better leave town or we'll use the police to intimidate you. but I'm glad you showed this. maybe now this town will wake the fuck up.

That was a nice thing you did for those people, I really appreciate it that you spoke to them with respect. Unfortunately a lot of people judge people before ever getting to know their story and how they became homeless. I have to say Thank You to your mom and dad for raising a caring human being, it all starts at home.

I like Tinkerbell Aaaannnd her friends. was that compound off a street called Ramsey? Used to be the main road to Palm Springs until the Freeway went through. Interesting times.

You just want to see the strip show 🙈 Seriously you could probably put pieces of the video together, research it and figure out where it is but they will just buy a bag of meth and alcohol with it anyway so you won't really be helping much.

This is heartbreaking. Some people build houses and abandon them before anyone could move in and homeless are being kicked out. Greetings from Spain.

There is nothing like helping people but Did you think cigarettes was a good thing? Food yes but cigs hmm

+K. Erica i doubt a pack of smokes is going to make things any worse for them.

+K. Erica I honestly thought about that myself. I also bought them a bottle of jack daniels. Neither of which I personally approve of or partake of but I figured they are adults and if that helps em get thru the next few days then what the heck. Its the holidays !

+Cory Kamermans I was not talking to you!! you Americans sticking together jumping on my opinion...excuse me! It is a FACT that smoking shortens your life.. So if you think buying cigs is not going to do harm shame on you! But saying that love the videos :)
