The Comprehensive Minecraft 1.16 Speedrunning Guide (Timestamps in Description)

Just something to say to everyone watching this video, this is a beginner video for beginners, it's a really good video but it is a beginning one so do not use this as your #1 guide for everything as there are quite a few things this video missed, I'll make a quick list here Shipwrecks also sometimes have a treasure chest which usually has an average of 8 iron, which is very useful. All the bastion routes in this video were kinda outdated/for beginners, I would definitely recommend watching some other videos like the ones in the description, also with strongholds it is less likely for the portal room to spawn far away from the starter staircase, the average amount of rooms away it will be is 6, also there is a simple way to know if there are hidden rooms in parts of the stronghold, I'd reccomend you watch a video on stronghold navigation, k4your does some good ones, also there are some more advanced blind travel techniques so I'd recommend watching a unique video on that, also I'd reccomend watching a video on "hypermoden" strats, which is the new most reliable way to enter the nether uses the ocean. Overall an amazing video though, props to the creator for doing such a good job. P.S I'd appreciate if you could pin this so everyone can see :)

1:04:44 to prevent that from happening, i would recommend stacking up 4 blocks, placing lava on the side of the top block and letting it flow until the 3 side lavas appear, and then retracting the lava. Then, once the lava disappears, break a block so you're on a 3 block pillar, and axe them to death.

I was wondering if anyone had any sources for the nether structure spawning patterns described at 36:45? The way it was explained seems to imply there are only ever 4 structures in the nether which... doesn't seem right. I think I'm just misunderstanding (and i also know that for speedrunning this distinction is probably irrelevant) but I've never heard of this before and I think it's interesting!

It's a bit long so bear with me here. Structures spawn in those 368 by 368 block squares on a grid. Each square on that grid can either have a bastion, a fortress, or nothing. That means when there is a fortress in that certain square then you would there only is a fortress for that 368x368 block area. When speedrunning, runners use only the first 4 structure spawning squares and call them quadrants. Those quadrants are like a regular graph plain, Positive Positive, pos neg, neg pos, neg neg. Since the goal is the finish the game as fast as you can, it's not optimal to go farther than the 4 squares that circle 0,0 since it's too far away and wastes time. Yes, there are more structures out there in the nether that follow the same spawning method, it's just that you wouldn't want to run thousands of blocks away in a speedrun. If you need anymore clarification I'd be glad to explain, there really isn't any detailed video about this that I can easily find rn

Pressing 0 on your keyboard goes back in the tabs, so just click 0 a few times to reset the pie chart. Also the pie chart scales with your GUI in your video settings to the bigger/smaller your GUI is, the bigger/smaller the pie chart is. Glad I could help!

Great video! Just a question, I was checking the official speedrunning discord and I clicked on the webpage to the official speedrunning website. I saw in the "mods" section that it said "do not use fabric API". Has it been banned or is it just not recommended? This doesn't affect my gameplay that much but I was just curious.

Fabric API is banned since it makes it much more difficult for speedrun moderators to determine if you have malicious mods since you can easily load illegal mods hidden in random folders. Fabric loader is the base version that you need since it only pulls mods from the “mods” folder in .minecraft, so make sure to not use fabric api. Hopefully that answers ur question!

They’re more prevalent in oak villages, but can also spawn in desert ones and savanna, although less prevalent. What biome villages are you talking about?

All biomes. Every village I find it does not seem to have hay.

first and last time trying to speedrun mc after 1 hour and 10 minutes i was in portal room with 1 pearl missing :( so i gave myself that 1 eye with creative and then i wasnt able to kill the dragon with 9 beds

Hey bro, speed running is a huge learning curve. My first runs were above 1 hour and took incredibly long. The more you learn, the more you do runs, the better you become. If you enjoy playing Minecraft just in general, speedrunning makes you much more knowledgeable about the game. You won’t be able to bed cycle ur first time around, I didn’t do bed cycling until I hit 45 minutes (I used to use bow and arrow to break all the crystals). You got this, I believe in you

@@haroon_shah i was trying to speedrun for 6 hours and now i got into end in 50 minutes, but first time the dragon went down, i didnt kill him, because enderman started chasing me and then i used all 14 beds and didnt kill the dragon, but in test world i was able to kill the dragon with 6-7 beds im speedruning mc for 2 days now and still dont have any dragon kills edit: i have my first successful speedrun (58:30)
