Alex Aster's publishing genre ages with her. She started out Middle Grade, then Young Adult, and now Adult. What's her next series' age group gonna be, Middle Aged? Elderly?
@LilyEvans19963 ай бұрын
I think that is totally fine no? It's logical. My reading age group changed as well as I got older. Makes sense for the same to happen to writing, whether you like her books or not.
@bluebirdeyes3 ай бұрын
@@LilyEvans1996 I notice my characters aging with my own writing too, it's just funny that she's done exactly one series of each age group like she's going down a list. (She did skip New Adult but that doesn't fit my joke haha)
@larynadams11272 ай бұрын
@LilyEvans1996 I think its funny purely bc her writing don't mature eith the age demographic she's trying to write to

To check a horse's age and relative health, you check its teeth. Horse gums recede as they age, thus the idiom 'Long in the tooth' to mean 'old', and poorly maintained teeth can indicate long term issues. A more modern version of 'Looking a gift horse in the mouth' would be something like checking the engine of a free car, and it's essentially telling the person giving the gift that you're worried they're giving you a faulty or otherwise broken product. After that one Agent went on twitter looking for someone to rewrite a submission because she didn't seem to like the original author, I would bet that not only did they take her manuscript and pass it along to someone else to 'get something out', I would bet it's relatively common. I do not trust the publishers one bit.

"Things that go bump in the night" just means things that make unexplained noises of movement in the night and typically refers to the supernatural. Like when you're in bed and you hear a noise but pretend it's just house settling.

Fun listen. I live in New Mexico and it’s about 29 degrees Celsius, but that’s at 6ish in the evening. I would hate to be without cooling. We have an evaporative cooling system that works pretty well, except when it’s humid. It can lower the house temp by 20 degrees F, but when it’s humid it only goes down about 5.

Quicksilver was an okay quick read for me. It will probably blow up if booktok girlies get to it, it’s got the mates trope, a broody love interest, and not just fae but also vampires. The world and lore was actually kind of interesting though? So despite insta-love and cliche it was still a decent read for me. Still hated the mates thing. It’s always mates.

Billionaire love interests are bad enough, but a tech CEO love interest??? Barf. Would love for Aster to write a subversion like he’s not the end love interest but I doubt that’s gonna happen. Also, Parker Warren sounds like a farmer name, the only Parker I’ve ever known is my late rice farming great-uncle who was born in the early ‘30’s.

Didn't know the Tracy Wolff lawsuit was resolved yet. She got off. The evidence was overwhelming. I'm not surprised though. She could probably afford a really good lawyer. She has influence in the book world & a huge set of publishers backing her. She could be innocent. I really wouldn't know. We're all just here reading the papers.

Honestly, big picture/overall story? I'd say I'm team Freeman. Big and small things are all too similar. Especially given that it's several similarities not just one or two out of coincidence because we're all using the same dictionary. Even if it's a subconscious thing maybe? The agents and whatever, will have had that story idea in their subconscious since they read it from Freeman, and then have basically outlined what Wolf needed to write. So it's not really Freeman vs Wolf, it's more Freeman vs entangled or whatever
