The worst loss was the Playoff Game in 2002 when the officials didn't allow them to play defense in the second half, and, erroneously claimed the clock expired because they were in FG range, not, to mention the player was illegally held, while, going out-of-bounds, the officials returned the favor one week later, Bill Cowher's hypocritical Postgame reaction was priceless.

That's LB Dwayne Rudd, in an act of premature celebration. Even though he wasn't arrested, he committed an even worse act of celebration on the last play of the 2002 season opener vs. Kansas City. With the Chiefs trailing 39-37, Rudd, thinking he had sacked KC QB Trent Green, pulled off his helmet and threw it. Green, however, lateraled the ball to lineman John Tait, who took it to the Browns' 26. Rudd was penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct, moving the ball half the distance to the goal. Because the game cannot end on a defensive penalty, the Chiefs, now with an untimed down, won the game, 40-39, on a Morten Andersen field goal.
