Hamilton mentions Riis being doped to the gills during his TdF win and writes that CSC was the team to go to for him because Riis not only understood the necessity of doping in pro cycling, but was willing to run a team program. When describing his time with Phonak Hamilton mostly writes about Fuentes being unprofessional compared to Ferrari and what a clusterfuck his doping operation was.

What did for TH was his ridiculous defence after winning TT Olympic gold...he claimed the dead embryo of an unborn twin was still lodged in his system...yes....that's the old favourite one of dopers...blame a nascent, unborn ghost of your rampant doping. The only blessing is he's not such an ahole like Lance and has openly admitted his guilt and his part in the cycling culture, he's shown contrition..unlike others out there who still deny it today...go to Spain and Italy and you'll still see Contador, Delgado, Cippolini et al on TV like they're heroes.

Cycling was such a 'nerdy' sport for 'geeks', at least in my country. I got ZERO respect from my peers when I was cycling back in HS in the 80s in the northestern US. 'Doping' made this sport one of the 'cool guy' sports.

I do love these channels. But am I the only one that doesn't want doping to leave cycling? It is part of the romance, and from what I understand necessary for the parcours. What pro sport is clean? At least it makes sense in cycling given the impossibility of the task at hand in grand tours. They'd have to shorten the GTs if there was no doping.

Fun to watch but I would consider it a bit misleading about Tyler's progression as a cyclist. Having known him during college he went from not being a cyclist to one of the best amateurs in a year. He started late and still had an extremely successful career. Not just because he doped. Also, the US was and is extremely poor at developing and supporting talent in Sport. I don't know a single cyclist from Boulder from that generation including the pros and semi pros in Boulder that given a chance to race in Europe at the highest level wouldn't have at least considered a program given the opportunity. I personally worked in Antarctica for a winter season following the path of two other aspiring mountain bike pros just to be able to race full time myself for a season.

I always thought Hamilton to be the most hypocritical liar. He was full at max ,faked injuries and was respinsible for the maybe most unsportsmanship moment in tdf history when he deliberate sliwed down the field 2001 to get his buddy Armstrong back only for Armstrong to use that sprinting away from behind .
