Great work as always! I love your videos. Part of it is "cycling-history-education" for me and part of it is just fun :D Maybe dedicate an extensive episode to the mirculous rise of US-Postal? Another idea: a feature on famous doctors and how they jumped from one team to another until the present (maybe also include that these doctors also treat the famous football players). Keep up the great work. Best regards from Austria, Chris

Rumsas family lived in Lucca, Tuscany, for awhile. Close where I live (Pistoia, same region) Two years ago I met during a ride Vincenzo Nibali (he grow up in same area when he was a youngsteer and he has his junior team), last year I met Edita Pucinskate. But I never met Rumsas family and I don't know if they live still here. RIP his son.

To note, regarding who the Lithuanian cycling GOAT is - Isakas Anolikas gets my vote, because of his story more than his wins. Not sure how one would evaluate doping in his era, but I’d be surprised if he wasn’t clean.

Wow, what a grand time to be a cycling fan. Guys doped to the gills socking it out with each other. Doper Lance so bored he is yawning on the TDF podium with a thrilled Lithuanian doper who was only hours away from getting his entire family arrested with a car stocked with more EPO than even Motoman would think of carrying (LOL!) All the while cheering them on like heroes and Gods (Lance).

Nowadays they do altitude training, before they used EPO or blood transfusion. But its all about the same thing: increase the level of red blood cells. So nothing changed really. EPO use is just more efficient.
@drunkensailor1122 жыл бұрын
With epo they got their blood levels to ridiculous hematocrit values. You can't do that on altitude. That's why despite all advancements in the sport they now ride 3 minutes slower on alpe dhuez compared to the mid 90s
@nickbea34432 жыл бұрын
Altitude training goes back to the late 1960's and events were encouraged in high locations just to beat records (eg Moser in Mexico 1984). Yes, EPO is more efficient but has health side effects as do other doping routes cause. Perhaps EPO resulted in the death of Rumsas's son?
@richardsmythe48642 жыл бұрын
Stupid comment. Altitude training won't thicken your blood so much as to cause your heart to give up in your sleep. EPO abuse has killed a large number of young healthy sons.
