This is the film where Brandon stepped out of his father’s shadow and developed his own fighting style and acting style as an artist. He would’ve been huge after this movie had he lived.

It's not just a gothic theme, it's portrayed as dark as it was because the city was on fire back then. You could drive down almost any street in Detroit and see a house on fire or a car up on cinder blocks on fire, some times with bodies burning inside. We've held the murder rate for awhile, it's still a bad situation.

Yep. This movie has "'90s" the way some people have bad breath. I think this was directed by Alex Proyas, who did "Dark City," another criminally-underrated movie; it definitely has much the same vibe/aesthetic: people living in some not-quite-alternate reality in a depressingly run-down city where everything is wet, rainy, askew, abandoned, rusty, crumbling, defeated, and claustrophobic, and it's always the middle of the night.

"Listen! I'm sure you will remember." So much emotion is contained in that delivery. Rage. Despair. Anguish. Suffering. A hunger for revenge. Brandon Lee plays a man who is tortured. This scene is just one example of why this movie is a classic. It overshadows the "I killed you" while smoking a cigarette and "Yeah, you did" while pointing a gun scene from the reboot/remake/whatever. Now I love Bill Skarsgard. In my opinion, he has a promising career ahead of him. But I doubt the crow remake will be one of his successes. There are just some movies you don't want to remake because they are masterpieces. The Crow with Brandon Lee is such a masterpiece.

Brandon Lee spent most of his career trying to be a reflection of his father not because he wanted to but because thats what movie makers wanted and what his movie agents suggested was best. Everybody loves the “victims, aren’t we all” Line. But, the one that always sticks with me is “Try harder, try again!!” Like, there’s something about him wanting Tintin to know that he can throw anything at him and it will do nothing. Kind of like the helplessness that him and his girl felt when they were assaulted. This movie is amazing. Always like the laugh when he jumps off the building too.
