I know it was toni pratto who demanded kody help her 😮 set up HIS LIFELONG FRIEND , so toni pratto could get her alone and kody would also be toni's backup and muscle-man. Poor Miceala just loved kody ❤😢, so she trusted in anything that ever came out of his mouth. Sadly, on that day😢 it was the trust for her friend, that cost her the most valueable thing of all. I am also very let down that that judge could not see through Toni Pratto's Lies and Utter Deceits . Her testimony was perjury, deserves added time, and Cody deserves her sentence, as HE WAS INFLUENCED BY HER JEALOUSIES AGAINST MIKKI. IT WAS HER WITH MOTIVE TO MURDER, NOT CODY. HE HAD NO DOG IN THAT FIGHT, EXCEPT TO LOSE HIS GIRL, AND WHEN A BOY AT 16 IS WITH A 17 YR OLD WHO IS NEAR 18, HIS MIND IS ONLY ON ONE THING❤😅. SO, I AM NO FOOL. I KNOW ALL THERE IS TO KNOW ON THIS🎉🎉🎉 BANGIN POP POP POP... GET MY DRIFT?? In my opinion, no Justice for Miceala was given YET. There Cannot be any good justice for her until Toni Pratto is given a full life without parole😢. Then i Do believe Miceala ❤ will😊 and celebrate🎉in Heaven.😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I am from West Wendover. I knew and loved, still do love, Mickey. She really was the sweetest, smartest, most kind and gentle soul that I have ever met. I first hand saw the tears of her parents, siblings, friends. EVERYONE loved her...except for Toni and Kody... Thank you for covering Mickey's case. It may be 12 years without her but noy a single day goes by that I don't think about her. Though sometimes unsuccessful, I try my hardest not to remember the pain that struck our little town so hard. I try to remember her; her smile, laugh, kind warm eyes. We were on the track team together before this happened...I still hate Toni Fratto and Kody Patten. I hope they get physically sick everytime they think about what they did to her. I hope they never see the light of day outside of prison, no matter how. These are fucking mistaken examples of human beings. They are the worst people I have ever met.... Thank you, Mike, for sharing Mickey's story. No matter how many years have passed, she deserves to be known. Mickey would have gone on to do the most amazing things in life. So thank you again for sharing her story with everyone. She certainly is, and her guilt was clear from the beginning. It’s a classic story. Emotionally immature and stunted Mormon girl who is, hate to say it, not conventionally attractive in the slightest, clings desperately to a relatively attractive but mentally unwell boy who gave her attention but inevitably would have left her. Boy has a close female friend who is much more attractive and who he likely has had some sort of feelings for at some point. Girlfriend rationalizes her hatred for this “best friend” by making the friend out to be a slut or a bad influence on her boyfriend, but really all she wants is for the best friend to be eliminated so she can monopolize her boyfriend’s attention. Though this type of female jealousy/rivalry is common in general, it is exacerbated in communities like the Mormon community where you are taught your only reason to date the opposite sex is to get married and have children with haste. Because of this young Mormons tend to cling desperately to the very first people they date because they have to get married in order to justify (in their deluded minds) having sex, being physically intimate, etc. Toni is not the only one to blame, however, I am certain that there never would have been a murder without her influence and manipulation.

Why would she go to the police and implicate herself afterwards if she was the "mastermind" afterall? Eric Langs is having fun with his big "Mormonism breeds bad people!" theory, but you missed crucial facts... did you even watch the whole video? 1) Cory and Micaela weren't just "best friends"... the dad said they had been together before. 2) Mike stated that their friends said they BOTH picked on Micaela. They're both guilty of murder and deserve to be hanged... but I see too many people in the comments laying it all at Toni's feet, like she was the mastermind. They were obviously both hateful towards her.

Every single study conducted has proven that, even given the exact same crimes and circumstances, women receive MUCH lighter sentences than men. We're talking an average of less than 50% of what men will get. That doesn't even take into account things like them more commonly getting plea deals, delayed prison time, etc. You'll never hear much about it though because it's sexism against men so that socially "doesn't count." Personal example I know of: woman I'd gone to high school with (we're all well into our 30s now) had become a branch manager at a local bank. In her position she'd been embezzling for years, well over a million total. A few years into her scheme, she started an affair with an underling, a bank teller. She eventually let him in on the scheme and let him skim a bit too. Despite the fact that he was far junior to her, had been doing it less time and had taken far less, he ended up with several years in prison and she got sentenced to time served.

Reading your comment I was caught off guard and had to think back to my high school days because I dated a girl named Adrianne Jones for almost a year around that age. I was pretty sure it wasn’t the same person but I had to think back and try to remember whether she moved or if she graduated with me. I remembered that it was a different girl I dated around that age who moved away and the Adrianne I knew graduated with me so it couldn’t have been her. Still caught me off guard and had my mind racing trying to remember though. I agree though. I think Toni was the instigator and Kody was dumb enough to go along with it and actually take the opportunity to get her alone when he had it.

Dang idk, I get the feeling justice wasn’t done in this case… I could be wrong of course but I just get the feeling Tony was much more involved than she claims, if not actually the instigator/ringleader herself, and I find it upsetting that she would get a chance at parole after 18 years while kody gets none. I see no reason why she should be granted leniency and not given the same punishment as him.

Unfortunately, that's how a lot of plea deals end up working out. Whoever can flip on the other person quicker and get the deal, will be able to get the lesser sentence. Their cooperation and contribution to the Prosecutor in order to secure an air-tight conviction buys them that luxury. The judge and jury also play a part, as they are simply normal people too, and can be manipulated or hold a bias just like anyone else. They aren't supposed to, and surely try their best to stay even and fair, but no one is perfect.
@chillaxter13

This is exactly what I came to say as well... I don't believe that girl at all. I'm guessing it was her plan and that she pressured Kody into doing it as a "prove your love to me" mind of thing. I think the sentences are probably correct, but applied backwards. He should be the one with a parole possibility, not her... But I don't actually know any details, didn't follow the case and can only judge based off of this 1 video... So I could be totally wrong.
@notaperson9831
@notaperson9831 Жыл бұрын
@@chillaxter13from everything I’ve seen about this case, this is the most plausible to me. I believe the girlfriend was jealous of Michaela and, as you said, pressured Kody into it to prove his love to her. Maybe they were just planning to beat her up but I think Tony always intended to kill her or at the very least let out her jealously on her. The stabs to the face were definitely Tony. That’s jealousy and rage. She likely stabbed her in the neck too which is what probably ultimately killed her. She is definitely the more responsible one in this case.
@saskialolita
@saskialolita Жыл бұрын
@@chillaxter13 totally. Part of me was also wondering if maybe some of kody’s reported behavior (teasing/bullying michaela) might’ve been bc he had a crush on her, which would obviously only exacerbate Tony’s jealousy and hatred of michaela. But I have literally no evidence for this other than just a creeping intuition, and I too am just going off the info that was presented in this one video, so def take it with a grain of salt.

Tony was jealous of the victim and it's obvious why - Tony is a dog-faced, big-nosed mess and the victim was way prettier and more successful and she knew her boyfriend probably would swap her for a chance at the victim in a heartbeat, and like all crap people, that made her hate the girl, not the shit boyfriend. There's no excuse for her eactions ven if she felt scared of her BF. If you're scared of someone go to the police, you are as bad as they are if you cooperate in any crime with them because you lack a spine. I don't believe she did feel scared of them though. I think she directed the whole crime. They didn't rape or sexually abuse the victim before murdering her, which is what men tend to do with attractive women in these scenarios left to themselves and is often the entire motive, Tony wouldn't have stood for any sexual attention however criminal because it would prove what she feared. Tony was the one who just wanted her dead so the competition was out of her way and she could finally feel superior. I think she was a spiteful, insecure, jealous piece of useless shit who surrounded herself with equivalent lowlife, low value, worthless male trash.

What a waste of a decent person’s life all because of some insecure little femme fatale and a weak boy too wrapped up in petty teenage drama to stop what he knew was wrong.

@@flingonber well I'd be willing to bet Makala would have liked a chance at life at 40. Toni's the one who did all of it including manipulating her boyfriend to take the fall! Every single bit of evidence was screaming Toni had done it. The zip ties, the boyfriend being seen on security cameras after Makala. The fact that Makala was stabbed in the face and neck and that her head was almost cut off along with the majority of her hair. Not to mention other parts of her body that were disfigured in a way that would be embarrassing to girls. The boyfriend showed signs of actually being concerned but he was just as scared making me think that the police might want to investigate Toni's father because he spoiled her and any father that'd allow a high school kid to move her boyfriend in with her would help his daughter kill her competition

So what about those other countries. Other countries don't have the type of crime and the level of crime that exists here. Mass shooter is an example. Some months, the on a national reported level , it occurs daily .😊 Supposedly, Saudi Arabia will amputate a limb for stealing. Should we amputate two limbs for murder and then let them go. That would cut out the prison time completely. I think she should keep her limbs while she works in prison FOREVER.

@@flingonber It's the only thing available now until something better is found. England has a problem with knife murders as opposed to gun murders. They don't have drive by knife attacks. Most cops on duty don't have guns on them while on duty. They have to get special permission to carry them for particular circumstances. Would cops answering 911 calls without any violence based event in this country be safe for anyone? Say for a domestic violence call as an example. Cops in this country get attacked regularly when answering those types of calls. Sheriff's Deputies get attacked regularly for serving warrants. The only thing that stops most people from attacking in those instances are the long prison terms eventually given when convicted. In this country certain people received harsh sentences for minor offenses like stealing a loaf of bread. Other people have received no jail time for killing 3 people with a motor vehicle because they suffered from affluenza. People have sexually assaulted women and found quality but continually received suspended sentences. Affluenza again. This country has its own unique set of problems with citizen and police violence plus problems with the Criminal Justice system.

@@CAHSR2020 Toni will be eligible for parole after 18 years. A sentence of life doesn't imply no parole - the parole eligibility is specified alongside the life sentence. In the US, "life" for a first degree murder usually implies a base sentence of at least 25 years, and 18 years for second degree murder (though that can be increased at the judge's discretion, and may vary based on state or federal law). The judge can also specify "eligible for parole after X number of years," or they can specify "no eligibility for parole," in which case the sentence truly is for life. (And just as an aside, in Commonwealth countries like UK and Canada, "life" simply means a term of 25 years. It can vary in other countries as well, but in general the US is kind of rare in that we actually do mean "for the life span of the defendant")

I hear of cases all the time with similar scenarios, in that one person assists the other who does the actual killing, and both people are considered equally culpable. If a 19 yr. old woman could do what she admitted to doing, there is no way in Hell she should be allowed a parole after only 18 years. I hope that doesn’t happen. I get the very strong impression that she had been relentlessly pressuring Kody, being obsessed with jealousy to "do something" about her, get her out of their lives forever. Kody seems he could be impressionable, with his fiancé that he was supposedly going to spend his life with, breathing down his neck about this horrible girl they had to get rid of. In that last scene when she was explaining what happened, I could tell almost immediately she was just reciting the story she had invented for this purpose, she's used to getting her way with stories and manipulation. No one has explained the zip ties, or quite a range of other questions still unanswered.

From all of the coverage I’ve seen, Tony had a great deal more influence and involvement than she has ever admitted. It’s shocking how someone could be eaten alive by their own insecurities to the extent that they would take another’s life. High school is just a blip of your life and although the emotions you feel at the time seem monumental they should seldom if ever warrant dictating what happens for a lifetime, or someone else’s lifetime. The obvious hate that girl was filled with is striking, especially when compared with the objective innocence of her victim Mickey.
@mercster

Uhh... I don't think we'll ever know what really happened or the dynamics between these three. If you notice, Cody's dad said "He was trying, or she was trying, to date him again..." So Cody and Micaela weren't just "friendly pals", they had had relations. There was a whole teenage jealousy thing going on, and who knows who started what between Cody and Toni. In life there are always three stories... he said, she said, and the truth, which is somewhere in between. I wouldn't presume to lay it all at Toni's feet (though she certainly deserves the chair, as he does.) EDIT: This is bolstered by what was said later, they had both been bullying her for years. So it's not necessarily true that she was the "jealous mastermind", it sounds like they were both hateful. I know people are drawn towards some narrative where the jealous girlfriend is the impetus of all this, and sure that's the easy answer... but I doubt that's what happened here. We'll never know.

@@mercster Your right but also in alot of these couple cases the girl plans it and controls the man like a puppet. He hated her so much as well that when the gf proposed to brutally kill her he agreed without a fuss. He kidnapped her then picked his queen up and they drove out. I doubt the dude was the one stabbing her. He prolly beat her and held her down wow that evil woman got on top and start stabbing her in the face and neck over and over then sliced her throat. The murder was pure jealous rage like Mike said. The injuries show it. I doubt the doubt was jealous. He was just a pawn controlled by that evil troglodyte. She was 100% the one who planned it. No one stabs someone in the face unless you’re in a jealous rage or wishing to “disfigure” your victim. Kody showed genuine remorse and guilt on multiple occasions, Toni was stone faced mono-tone, never feeling guilty and constantly tried to distance herself from seeing Michaela as a person and downplaying the severity of the situation. As far as I’m concerned it’s about 75% Toni & 25% Kody in terms of responsibility for Michaela’s murder. They both should have life without parole, even though she deserves the death penalty.

The female is way scarier...how she lies...throws it on her fiance without even batting an eye. She seems straight up evil. And you can be against murder (the unauthorized taking of a human life), and still be in favor of the death penalty (the state sanctioned legal taking of a human life) to send the most forceful message possible that society will not tolerate the criminal taking of a life. This case, out of the 1000s I've seen hit me more than any. The details of her death are horrific. The gf was, from what I saw the main instigator. She was jealous and threatened to cut Cody off if he didn't kill Mickey. So much worse. Whatever role Cody played in this, NONE of it would have occurred without Toni's insistence, without Toni's plan, without Toni's participation. And perhaps Toni wouldn't have become a Toni capable of a crime like this without the grotesquely irresponsible, insanely overindulgent parenting that passed for childrearing in the Frato household. Shame that the parents won't see much in the way of consequences...apart from some deeply unpleasant publicity...but it is what it is. Sigh.
