The story had previously been that she had stabbed him in the stomach that night and he was sobbing because he was begging her to get help for him. She was recording it because she thought making it about the candles would somehow prove her innocent. I''m not sure why the story changed; I still think she hurt him that night and that's why he was crying.

No wonder Gannon was having accidents, you can hear in his voice how terrified he was of this vile creature. When a child is scared and is subjected to emotional abuse, and probably physical as well, that's how their body reacts. She never should've been left alone with that angel. She was expressing so much jealousy and hatred towards him and the role she felt she was having to play for him. I personally just wouldn't have risked allowing her to be alone with him at all. This one literally made me cry.
@rachelann936210 ай бұрын
Having accidents in a child that was previously potty trained and doing well is a major RED FLAG that there is a ton of stress that child is enduring. It doesn’t necessarily mean physical abuse, or emotional abuse, but it definitely points at a major stress in their life that didn’t exist before. Gannon suddenly having “accidents” likely meant he was feeling a lot of bad shit coming from his stepmom. The candle wax video.. you can hear a lot of terror in his voice. He was scared of her. For how long, who knows.. but it was clear he was scared of her. Same thing happened with harmony Montgomery (sperm donor Adam was found guilty this past week.) she was five when she was sent to live with him. She never had issue with accidents until she was back with him, and then it turned into a daily struggle. staying clean was a point of PRIDE for her. Her foster mother said Harmony trained HERSELF because she wanted to be a big girl. Poor girl lasted onto months with her “dad” and step mom before she was killed.

I don't understand how can two kids be raised by solely a step parent though? It is clear she had some mental issues anyway, but it is also clear she was not happy at all, and exhausted of raising kids she did not love. Being a mom is not an easy task, being a step mom for two that provides sole care for them - I wouldn't be able to manage it, frankly. It's often times step mother or fathers not accepting step kids perhaps they will agree verbally but too often I've seen from treating step kids as secondary to the ones born of that relationship, all the way to physical abuse as a norm. Imo the worst tho is different when a woman will take the word of their current bf or husband over their biological kids from a past relationship. I've heard women literally super resentful of their kids cause the son from ex looks just like the dad and the mom will be spiteful cuz she sees her ex when looking at her son ... unimaginable to me but I've seen it enough to become jaded but each person will have their own standards

The clip of Leticia guilting Gannon for burning the carpet made me sick to my stomach by itself. What a vile excuse for a human being. So many kids have that pressure put on them by abusers and wind up thinking they’re personally responsible for the health and financial situation of the family. You could hear how helpless he felt.
@justaperson4656 Жыл бұрын
I was made to feel guilty over existing in my childhood by my father. He'd talk about how they'd had more money if I didn't get gifts for my birthday (that didn't come out of his bank btw) or eat so many sweets (despite me being chronically ill/constantly losing weight and him often stealing my food). It left me so messed up as an adult. I hid food in my bedroom as a kid. Although I feel I have a healthy relationship with food, I still feel guilty when people talk about how much food costs (ie, my mother telling me the burger brand I eat is like £4-£6 a pack now). The financial trauma I have is unreal. I feel bad for the kid, obviously, but I also think I'm happy in a melancholy way that he didn't have to live the rest of his (presumably 50+ year) life dealing with the trauma she put onto him.
@shortking-vp9vv Жыл бұрын
@@justaperson4656 I’m sorry you went through that. I can relate to the quasi-unhealthy relationship with food. I get triggered by the thought of over-consumption and often limit my food intake for no real reason. There’s this upsetting pang of guilt and shame associated with it. But I don’t remember my mom or dad ever explicitly guilting me over it. It’s a vague sense of feeling as though I’m, I dunno, not worthy of eating too much?? Or maybe that it’s selfish?

This case reminds me so much to another one that happened in Spain in 2018. An 8 years old boy was killed by his father's partner and she hid the body. The worst part is that during the investigation the Guardia Civil suspected her and asked the parents for their cooperation so for some days the father had to keep living with her and acting as if he wasn't aware of all the proofs against her, while the mother had to let her "help" in the searches and keep it cordial. The killer was one of the first persons in Spain to get the equivalent of life imprisonment. Later on, it was also discovered that she had a child in her country of origin that died at 5 years old when she fell from a balcony. It was considered an accident at the moment but now authorities in both countries believe otherwise.

My stepmother threatened to kill me reglarly when I was a kid, and one day, she "accidentally" spilled an entire pot of boiling water on me, and then rubbed butter all over the open wound instead of taking me to the hospital. It wasnt an accident. We always served our own plates at supper, that night she decided to walk around our cramped table of 5 in a 7'x7' kitchenette serving peas directly from a pot of boiling water pulled directly from a maxed out stove burner. She literally walks over to me and says, "woops" before she proceeds to dump the entire pot directly on me. This is after several death threats where she says she will kill me in my sleep. My father was also an abusive monster, though. Nobody cared. People only pretend to care. Not a single adult ever did anything about my constant abuse even though everyone knew about it. i've been following this for a long time and i've sobbed for gannon. poor little boy, he was so strong, so sweet, and he fell victim to a malignant narcissist who was good at hiding her tendences. landon and al's victim impact statements hit me so hard. this case is just as infuriating as it is tragic.

Hey Mike Would you ever cover the Jacob Wetterling case from Minnesota, USA? A little boy went missing in the late 80s and his killer was just recently convicted. His mom was also instrumental in starting the sex offenders registry. I'm not sure if it was nationwide or just Minnesota. Thanks Mike. I figured she was just out of her mind with worry when her story changed on another local page. So many of us spent days on days searching for him. It became pretty clear that she had something to do with it but i think the community really just was trying to hold onto hope hed be okay. That woman is a monster.

This is one of the saddest cases to me, poor Gannon didn't even have a chance, Leticia could have just called the mom to come get the kid if she couldn't handle raising him! Instead her first instinct is to kill him? She's so sick. The absolute most selfish, repulsive and shallow individual, she deserves all the bad things that happen to her in life.

@rudra62 Жыл бұрын
@@kimpearson496 They have shared custody. A court decided that both of his parents were suitable to care for him, and neither deserved estrangement. It was an interstate arrangement, and as Mom was 1400 miles away, she couldn't just run over and come get him. Also, often in shared custody, there are set times each is to have the child. Wiithout an official agreement in writing, probably filed with the court, the child is in the other parent's custody.

If you don’t love kids, don’t get into a relationship where you’ll have step kids. “Used and under-appreciated” is just part of the deal sometimes when you have kids, whether they’re your own or someone else’s. If you can’t handle that, stay single. Poor Gannon, I hope you’re at peace. It should have been her honor to be your stepmom. 😢

Exactly! I have stepkids as well as my own kids & I always made sure I was aware of my actions. I wanted to make sure I was always treating everyone the same because it is very important that children feel loved. Especially in blended families
@themudpit621 Жыл бұрын
I've never felt used and under appreciated as a mother, not for a single second now matter how much I gave, and I give it ALL every day. Getting something back in return never enters the equation as a loving mother. I've been a stepmother, and a mother, and I can tell you, it's not the same, at all. It just isn't. Not for me. As much as you can care for and love someone elses kids, you love your own infinitely more. sorry, it's true. My stepmother told me the same thing when I was an adult, and people need to understand. People don't thank stepmothers enough. Having said that, that beautiful little angel boy... it hurts my heart. That woman was pure evil.

Hey, I really appreciate the fact that you have taken us all into ur arms & hearts since u married my dad, thanks for the acceptance that it's a package deal. Thanks for laying out my lunch snack with my add medicine... ~~Said NO 11 yr. old Ever !!!! On top of that - no kid should be expected to do that stuff. Kids come into this world & they assume "roles" within the family is whats expected of them, as if they HAVE TO do what they do... Ask a kid why mommy & daddy love them. Most will answer back: "it's their job". Kids don't & should not be expected to think the way that monster thought. I kinda wonder why she would even think they should, especially if she was around Kids & supposedly a teacher all this time. It made no sense. She knew nothing of how children should be treated/behave. And did she really think bath salt drugs & bath salts for shower were the same thing? Seemed like she only knew about celebrity gossip. Wtf¿?

Why did Gannon's dad stay with that wretched woman? Even before they got married, she faked a kidnapping for attention and he just laughed it off. He deliberately left the kids alone with her all day, every day. There's no way he didn't know she was abusing his son.

I do also wonder why the birth mother left the kids with her for that long. It is normal to share parenting duties with the father and the new partner, but it seems a bit excessive. Shouldn't excuse Leticia, but if I knew that my child was potentially being abused by a new partner that seemed sus, I would try harder to not leave the kid in that situation for long stretches of time.
