Fun fact: In the cartoon, Courage's dialogue decreased after the first season. This is because the creators at Cartoon Network thought Courage "talked too much" and wanted his dialogue cut short.

I think what I love about this so far is that it isn't corrupting courage in any way. This is all in tone with the show this far, and not even in the "I'm sorry Jon" way of just taking what was already there to the extreme. This far, this feels like something courage would outright do if they had the chance, minus maybe Muriel being the dead character of course.

I think you've missed something, or my older copy of the game has an extra tidbit. I've actually played this a while back after looking for some horror games online. I quite loved the idea of a creepypasta game/ARG so before booting it up, I looked through all the text files I could count. Right inside "README" I found these two lines: When you find a dead end Just erase time I don't know whether you've just missed them or omitted them on purpose since they're really vague, but it feels like it might have something to do with the clock perhaps? I don't know, I never actually finished the game after the first crash since the first puzzle took me so long to figure out haha. I still think the basic premise of basing it around Playstation 1 detracts from the believability of the whole thing. Just that one thing, and everything built around that idea. It would have made a lot more sense to claim it was an unreleased Windows 98 game or something like that. Everything else about it is neat, I think.

yeah the texture would warp and the audio would be worse if it was ps1
@DaVince213 жыл бұрын
@@Concon12316 Not just that, but also: giving it PC-like controls, the game somehow saving progress without a memory card... And what bothers me most is that the story claims they found the source code and are trying to get it to work... by porting it to Windows, which would likely be a much larger undertaking than using the PlayStation dev tools to build a Playstation binary. Again, I want to like this more, but it's a little difficult when the basic idea it's built on is kinda messy like this.
@banjogyro2 жыл бұрын
I agree! These PS1-styled horror games are very cool, but they fall short on feeling like PS1. The fear factor to me comes from the idea that this *could* be a game made for such an old console, but it clearly isn't, and so the whole fear goes away. Being influenced by this inspired genre, doing a deep dive into PS1 I didn't find many games that feel like this, except maybe LSD but everyone knows that. The same problem is with the whole concept of weirdcore and backrooms. To me the entire appeal is that the backrooms could be something in real life and we don't know where the phtoos were taken from. But when everyone gets their own spin on it, too many cooks spoil the soup.
