Nice man! Evokes the romance of flight. Makes we wanna hop in a cub.

Appreciate it sir! I think that’s the part of flying a cub that I miss the most - there’s a special connection you get with those that flew before us when you fly one!

I love the guy who answers "up" when asked where he's going. That's literally been my exact answer for nearly two decades whenever I run into people at the airport before a flight. So many people want to know where you're going, where your destination is… Many don't realize that for a lot of us who truly love flying, just getting off the ground we have already reached our destination!!

Thank you for letting me relive this amazing event. My father and Steve Krog learned to fly together in college at SDSU. When this happened it was my second summer at HXF being taught to fly by Steve Krog at Cub Air Flight (I worked in the office when we weren't flying). It was a hell of a time for a 16-17 year old. You can catch a brief glimpse of me at 3:40, I'm the one center frame in hi-vis and sunglasses. At 10:43 and 16:26 you can see Dave who took my father (who had been diagnosed with Parkinsons shortly before my mother found out she was pregnant with me) up on the last private fligt of his life in a beautiful Cub. I genuinely had no idea this film existed until now. I congratulate all those who took part in its production and thank you all for reminding me and letting me relive 2 summers of my childhood, along with a lifetime of knowledge thatbI use to this day.

I learned to fly back in 1969 when I was 15 years old in a J3 Cub. It was later pretty much completely destroyed by a tornado but they rebuilt it and it's still on the registry to this day.

Wow, an incredible film about one of my all-time favorite airplanes. I usually find music annoying, wanting to hear the airplanes, but the score is so perfect on this, and the engine sounds come through beautifully along with it. Congratulations on a great job!

Thank you so much for this comment Russ - I'm really glad you enjoyed the film. It's the 11 year anniversary of me getting my pilot certificate in a Cub today, so seeing your comment has special meaning. It was a truly amazing few days that I don't think I'll ever forget.

I have never flown a " pure" cub, but have many hours in a Super Cub and many hours in a clipped wing cub. In fact the clipped wing was owned early on by the Cole brothers airshow (called Little Bit), later by Bill Barber. It was Bill's aeroplane when I flew it out of Ann Arbor (ARB).

Thanks so much! Yeah - wheel landings for style points I guess!
@pauleyplay2 жыл бұрын
You must be an old guy like me. Thats old school. Stick in your gut. There is a better way. Carry a little speed & a touch of foward stick at touchdown. Much better rudder control, all points of the landing work cleaner. Hard to put into words. Many years ago I struggled To ease the stick foward however it does work.
