I see a lot of ways to get stuck in your CUDA. The hinges should be internal, there should be multiple air intakes and radiators in different locations and there should be a full armored panel underneath that covers the axels and drive line. Just my opinion. Nice rig though.

@@KangoV Well it's a SWAT patrol vehicle, not an MRAP or full on APC. It's meant to handle criminal level weaponry, not enemy military AT weaponry. Since if they have say 10 kg AT Mine to blow out the non V bottom hull, they also have RPG-7 or M73 LAW and it will just cut through even the thickest of the side plates on that thing. The below plate will probably handle what it is meant for: Which is number 1: someone molotov fireballing under it. Number 2: someones home made pipebomb aka small IED, thrown under or driven over. 3: criminals have managed to get their hands on stolen military hand grenades. It's light armored patrol vehicle. Not a tank, not even a full on APC. If the criminals have scored a stolen AT launcher for themselves, well better get the bazooka guy before they get anything police would have. At that point call national guard with actual medium or heavy armored assets.

An odd quirk of the current 70 series is its different track, front and back. Toyota widened the front to accommodate the V8, but leftnthe rear axle narrow. It's usually the first thing to 'fix' when modified, often combined with a GVM upgrade. Curious that hasn't been done on this one.

I was a gunner in Afghanistan for 9 months. I was a CROWS gunner (MRAP) for the last half. I was in ASVs also and I drove them both too. I am all too familiar with these types of vehicles. The doors are air controlled on the rear of MRAPS and once you push that button you need to be clear of the door motion. You can operate them manually too but they are heavy. We would drift MRAPS through the deepest mud, accelerating sideways through the ruts and you couldn’t stop them. Off-roading in an ASV is actually even better. We would stagger them, CROWS MRAP out front, ASV, then MRAP then ASV. 11B

Doug : “If the vehicle is disabled, it will keep people safe so they can be rescued later.“ Attacker : pulls out battery power torque wrench and unscrews the front window in about two minutes. Or door in about 30 seconds. So surprising that the removable fasteners are on the outside of the vehicle? To work, this vehicle must escape and get out of harms way so it does not dwell in a risk area.

Something tells me it takes a lot more than those nuts on the outside to remove them. Especially considering how small they are vs. how heavy/ massive that window is. Ditto for the hinges. I really like it when Doug finds these ultra quirky custom vehicles, and reviews them. I think this thing is super cool, and can understand why Doug likes it too. Plus he gets to vicariously review a Land Cruiser that he otherwise probably could not find in the US. Everyone wins, in this exchange. We get purpose built quirky and strange vehicles reviewed, and Doug gets to have fun doing not only that, but also getting a look at a vehicle he does not get to see often. I especially appreciated the backstory as to how this armoring company got ahold of this, and how silly the whole thing seems as to the reason why Land Cruisers are no longer in the US.

When Doug talks about avoiding modified cars he means things like aftermarket turbos that would change the way the vehicle drives *compared to other copies of the same vehicle*.
