Another epic video Dave, it was brilliant to see the landscape and scenery which you journeyed through. Your narration to camera and how you explained where you were up to on your trip was most welcome and interesting. It looks like you and Mark had a great time mate, it was a pleasure to watch. Once again this video demonstrates why you're one of my favourite KZbinrs, and may I add, one of the nicest blokes that I know.👍

Your wife Helen looked so happy you are leaving😁 That was ...beautiful Dave! Loved it, every shot was stunning with a brilliant choice of music too! I usually struggle to like the English countryside in some videos as really miss the drama in it we have up here in Scotland. But this Cumbria was absolutely five star fantastic and as you said it looks like Scotland in places. Guess you chose the Autumn to go there as it's less busy than summer.. Stunning colors on the way, sounds of nature, night sky, all perfect. I know there had to be a huge amount of work for you to film and edit. THank you. PS. Loved all those pubs, especially the climbing one.

Well thanks for watching Justin especially as you have done this route. I only decided on this the day before didn’t finish filming off how I would have liked as all lunch time towards Dustin we were quietly mulling over the best plan to get back to Ulverston something I didn’t need to do as returning on my own but eventually settled on sticking together and catching an afternoon train and the night back at the start. Anyway cheers Justin 🍺👍
@JustinWhiting9 Жыл бұрын
Yes, I know what you mean about the ending Dave, but don’t worry about it. As you know, the only people who watch to the end of our videos are those who are really interested in your personal story, however it ends. You two stuck together on this one, had beer and fish ‘n’ chips and that’s as good a finish as any. 👌 I find the subject of the last day of a long hike quite interesting. We invest a lot in it for different reasons. It’s the finale, a crescendo, celebration, closure, achievement, a video, but the reality can sometimes fail to meet all those expectations and it can feel a little anticlimactic. I spoke about this on my final day of the Great Glen Way when we can get drawn into rushing it, even from the day before, thinking of travel connections, the time, where we have to be tomorrow, who wants something from us, and so on. It can spoil the experience. Slow down, take it all in, I tell myself. Sometimes it works, sometimes not, that’s life. I find staying a night at the finish place works well, and gives me the best chance to avoid all the rushing, savour the last few drops and have an evening to fulfil those expectations I place on myself. Oh, and Guinness…. 😉

@@JustinWhiting9 blimey your a thinker Justin, I had to sit down to read that😊. Wise words indeed and I’m in full agreement so thanks for expressing it so well. Time for a Guinness yet🤣. Hey I’m on holiday with Helen next week in the Peak District, plenty of good beer up there. 🍺

Another great trip Dave. Looks like you got lucky with the weather ! I agree about walking through valleys. You get a very different perspective. Makes you focus on things closer to hand rather than looking out over long distances. Langstrath beck is a bit of a gem. Have great memories taking the kids swimming there when they were younger. Thank you. Keep taking us on the journey's.

Cheers Andrew, thanks for taking the time. Ahh family holidays, great times to look back on and I really enjoyed the mini adventures I had with my daughter. You phrased that well about walking in the valleys 👍. I noticed a good spell of weather so thought I’d get one in before winter, Mark got a shock the day before when I phoned him at 8am and said see you tomorrow in the Lake District. He was still between contracts then so was available. Cheers anyway and Tek care 🍺

Awesome trek Dave - wow 16.45 has got to be one of the best paths in the country. Soaking wet I see but it seemed to dry up. There were some lovely touches on this one the Climbers Bar being one and nice riverside pitches. Gotta say I prefer the stars to Blackpool tower lasers - that light pollution. Yeah, I like the valleys also - they kind of hold you and I like looking up in awe. Plenty of that here. Good going - brilliant trip. Mark

Well you’ve definitely sold the walk to me Dave. Last summer it was a toss up between the Dales Way or the Cumbria Way.
