Arguably the greatest survival horror of the last decade. This game was literally a love letter to all Alien fans. The sound design in this game still blows me away to this day. No game has ever given me so much anxiety, stress and excitement all at once.
@lutherheggs4513 жыл бұрын
Its just too bad that it was too long, had long stretches of nothing made worse by having to sneak constantly, alot of backtracking and. the AI that hilariously people jerk off about while ignoring that FREQUENTLY the Alien AI would either get stuck in a loop or, outright break forcing you to quit and reload.
@Laughing_Individual3 жыл бұрын
@@lutherheggs451 I do agree that while the Alien can be unnecessarily aggressive at times, it's still one of the best enemy AIs out there even compared to ones today. I also agree that the game could've executed the android plot a bit better as I only saw it as padding. They could've woven the android bullshit into the Alien plot instead of just using it as an interlude before the climax.

There were only two reviewers who gave it a stinker - the worst being IGN's Ryan "5.9" McCaffrey ... a self-important charlatan that even dared to host his own "panel" in response to the backlash (let's ALL invent a panel TV show to explain away our terrible mistakes!...) It was pathetic, like he is. IGN later had a lady from Australia explain why she loved ALIEN Isolation - a sort of hidden apology. But not a re-review or anything like that. I did enjoy Lucy's version of reviewing the game though - it's a shame she wasn't the one to do the original review. 5.9? - even the soundtrack should raise it to a 7 at least! Other reviewers - such as Gamespot - made it their Game of the Year!

Alien: Isolation is one of the best PC games I've ever played (and I've been a PC gamer for over 25 years), and I've played it through 6 times. I'm really glad they didn't make it a 3rd person game, because if they had, I never would have even bought it.

One of the best games ever made! I just wished there'd be an option which would mix things up, like: -unpredictable Android routines (Working Joes investigate all accessible areas, all nearby terminals, cover longer distances, search near phone booths if they lost the player, fixing and guarding routines because they are security and maintenance bots) -Smarter human AI -more NPCs on higher difficulties -Heavy Joes arriving like the light version per Transit or elevator if you linger too long -Joes being able to rip you out of vents if you are close enough Small tweaks like that would keep it a lot more interesting, but if you finished the game 7 times on all difficulties, you just kinda know how to avoid most hostile creatures and robots

Alien Isolation is really the best piece of media in the franchise since Aliens.

I love the videos when it’s mainly about aliens, not sure why but this channel talking about aliens feels right. I still hope someday we’ll get the Aliens Crucible video back.

fantastic video. very professional. i'm within days of completing Alien Isolation for the first time. On chapter 15 or 16 of 18 at the moment. Definitely one of the best games I have ever played and I will be doing another playthrough or two, getting all the DLC's, and getting some of the excellent mods I've heard about. Playing it vanilla for the first time and it's just been a great experience. Anyways, good stuff.

-We really need a part 2 to this masterpiece. If not a “The Thing” game made by this same team would be EPIC. 🔥

I’m in my second attempt now. This game is so fun. And scary. Sneaking around, getting caught, making it a little farther each time, it’s addictive.

I've never considered Alien Isolation gameplay videos mere "gameplay videos." To me, they're more like a director's cut to a successor of the original "Alien" film. After seeing the game being played, I can confidently say that there's no way in hell I could ever finish it. So to those who did, you have my complete and total respect. A tip of the hat (or in this case, the astronaut helmet) to you!

Alien isolation's graphics looks better than most games today (raytraced or not).

I loved this game. It was so amazing to see a AAA game embracing all of these indie horror mechanics with great graphics and the alien IP. From finding Penumbra as a teen, to then play Amnesia later and getting to see it explode and award this small team I'd been following for years was so cool. And then seeing all these design philosophies they created lead to the reinvention of horror video games with this and more recent games like RE7 was like watching a kid you went to school with get famous.
