My 80 year old father, is a lifelong daily mail reader and BBC news watcher, although not religiously and he stopped getting the mail when my mother passed away, he was completely unaware of the grooming gangs and Tommy Robinson and his attitude when learning about them, was "oh well, nothing we can do about it, best to just not think about it", I said that is exactly the attitude that has allowed this all to come about in the first place, which unfortunately upset him....a very hard working man, he is retired now and still works harder than most, and he has absolutely earned the right to bury his head in the sand if he so chooses, but the rest of us should take his attitude as a warning, and not allow ourselves to fall into that trap.

My Grandfather on my Mothers side was a newsagent, so you can imagine it caused a little friction in our household. I have not personally bought a paper for many years. Paul, I read the qrticle on Tommy this morning. I agree with you I have noticed the changes to the Mail over the past months. This particular article had only one fact in it that I found interesting. It said that Tommy was in isolation to protect him from other prisoners, 40 percent of which are muslims. I think that one fact alone tells us that we have a major problem with this culture on our hands and that maybe Tommy has a point.

It only works with our participation. Don't play the game. We have no control over the words someone wants to print on pieces of paper,we do however have control over how we react to it. Our thoughts and actions are probably the only things we can really control. Allowing things like this to wind us up is playing straight into the hands of those that have been playing this game forever and are masters at it,but they only win because the masses keep participating. They always win because they know we are more likely to focus on what divides us than what unites us. The masses could have 90% common ground and they know they could still use the 10% we disagree on to cause division amongst us,and,we would point the finger of blame at them for doing so. Which is another win for them because they know as long as we are pointing in their direction we won't be looking at each other and realising there is way more that unites us than divides us. Because if,and that's a big if,we ever realise that en masse,then their game doesn't work anymore. It's a numbers game they can't win without our assistance,and we keep on obliging .
