If HTS allows Russia to keep their bases after what they have done to the Syrian people then the West should walk away. Why should we help out if Russia cossies up to HTS
@ZiGGi036 сағат бұрын
Yeah agreed . Ukrine also are sending food to Syria to help the hunger crisis there . I assume the Syrian government know Russia was bombing them and are only talking to them as a courtesy to Turkey who helped the rebels . The government know the west is a more prosperous way . Plus the Russian killed tens of thousands bombed the hospital’s after getting the information from the UN then they struck them. They are a disgrace so I have hope they won’t be able to keep these bases and the port I don’t see it happening to be honest in my opinion . The Russians were allowed to leave because turkey told the rebels to just let them leave . So we shall see we can only see what they do then we can talk about that. .

Syria is being carved up! HTS who were extremists only a few weeks ago, Russia have made a deal with HTS for the time being Russia will hold the bases in the west of Syria. Turkey who don't like the Kurds and the US funds the Kurds. Turkey is happy for Russia to stay, because it gives Turkey political leverage on the US.

I cannot help but think that Putin believes that it is useful to hold Assad hostage as a negotiating chip. Could he be offered up to the new Syrian regime to curry favour and in exchange for Russia to continue to operate their naval and air bases? Assad is now out lived his usefulness and is on borrowed time. Putin won’t want the embarrassment of Assad and his family hanging (probably the wrong metaphor) around.
@markgarner84053 сағат бұрын
@@richardpiper4828 you make some good points! putin wants the bases in Syria still but watching some videos of the rebels heckling the ruzzians makes me think they wont be welcome back. Looks like Israel stuck the ruzzian naval port last night or near the port and the rebels want Assad back to face trial , fun times ahead!

Which as you might guess, is one of those things where Turkey shouldn't have any problems with that at all. After all BRICS is supposed to be a cooperative club.

The USA military might be said to be worse in a long-term kind of way, considering that the tide is rising on Bikini atoll and about to draw significant mass of heavy metal of the radioactive kind, plutonium specifically, into the Pacific Ocean. They are known for burning off their rubbish on base, and causing chronic diseases of all sorts to their own personnel, and I for one have not forgotten the damage to the health of a generation or two of children in South-east Asia by Agent Orange jungle destroyer. The policy of "life is cheap so who cares" is standard operating procedure in the death convulsions of all degenerating empires. Like the British behaviour in Kenya and Malaya, which in no small way ultimately coincided with the rise of Japan upon the spin of liberation from European colonialism.
