I have never personally thought of the west being perfect. Like people also have their own lives, stresses and crime. They also do have bad crime ridden areas. But one thing is these areas unlike in let's say Delhi aren't the vast majority. Also we need to understand and compare the living standards of people in our respective societies. Even in the worst neighbourhoods, they get clean air to breathe, cleaner streets( still very dirty) but atleast cleaner streets than an average place in Delhi. Yeah crime is a huge problem but so is it a problem here. As an example, the Canadian economy is currently in a recession, but people there still have clean air to breathe, clean water etc. Their worries are atleast to earning a decent income, not losing life to pollution.
