I still seriously think Bitterblack is one of the best parts of Dragon’s Dogma because it’s just the game’s whole deal in its purest form; complete BS that WILL kill you, which you are free (and encouraged) to counter with your own complete BS. This game will always hold a special place in my heart. Edit: Also I want that Daimon version of the punching meme on my tombstone.

Complete BS is right. Last night I had to fight an ice and fire dragon at once, and once I felled the ice one, a cursed one joined the fray and I lost all ten of my Wakestones to them both beyblading every time I wake up

@@wanpokke you even take 10 wakestones with you? I take at most 1. Did you try to kill them at lvl 50 with BBI lvl 1 weapons or what? Silence the ice guy kill it with fire or better yet kill the fire one first (but you may have to silence the blue one again) with ice then blue with fire and even if undead shows up you are still using fire which should make quick work out of it. Use periphiats and BBI lvl 3 weapons or gold fire/ice weapons and you should kill them rather easily depending on your class. Don't waste encumbrance on 10 wakestones as that is rather odd mate.

Warrior with its crappy moveset and only 3 skills is just hurting yourself, same with "you run for 3 seconds so i guess you hate your stamina aka hard mode also forget about staggering opponents with any consistency because f you in particular." . Hardmode and warrior would need to be seriously reworked before i would return to that shit (i did run hardmode once or twice in the past and im not returning to that). So yea, why are you hurting yourself? Do you need to talk with someone?

@@Videogal1993 yeah, it's a really good exp farm actually. speedrun the first boss -> shoot death in the face to instakill him -> change game mode to hard mode (or go off then back onto hardmode if you were already on it) -> the entire game has reset, including bitterblack isle -> rinse and repeat.

I think a lot of it comes from the Pawns hanging out with you and commenting on stuff around you. The game feels like you're travelling around with a ragtag group and facing terrible dangers together as a team, which is a very weird feeling to have for a single-player game.

Small brain pawn: Doesn't save you from mimics. Big brain pawn: Saves you from mimics. Galaxy pawn brain: Opens the chest themself so you don't have to. Ted brain: Casts High/Maelstrom all the time in small enclosed spaces so that all enemies, mimics included, get stunlocked to death against the wall as you're blinded by the darkness.

Imagine not playing on hard mode Seriously tho hard mode with defence augments is a piece of cake (up until a certain point) and the sheer amount of money you make is worth it. BTW use perfect blocks. Especially with Mystic Knight. Perfect Blocking an Eliminator's charge instantly knocks them away.

The BBI was so much fun! As a sorcerer it taught me to pre cast maelstrom on every chest just in case for when my pawns open it and it's a maneater. I was also confused because when I beat it the first time, all the shortcuts were locked then I had to go through it again and boy did I understand why they were locked. They wanted you to go through it again but now it's much harder. More monsters, more maneater chests, eliminator city with a blockade of living armors to boot. It was honestly so great, I had so much fun and was so scaried as to what terrors await me in each room.

Hey, just so you know all melee vocations (and split vocations like mystic knight) have a nice called controlled fall. You'll see pawns use it a lot and it's basically a quick getup move. Extremely useful for getting back into fights with larger events like cyclopes, griffons, dragons, etc. It's also good for bot getting trapped by magic spells from a certain boss in the Dlc. Also if you get the maxed version on arc of deliverance you can kill living armors with the fall damage they take when you smash them into the sky skyrim style if you don't have any potent magic abilities or weapons.

@@Norinia Yeah it's possesion, which only works on pawns. Which is why when dragons grab you they slam you into the ground immediately, but if they grab a pawn they start to posses them. Funny thing you can see is when you get possessed in the daimon boss fight your pawns ai will occasionally swing at you as if you were an enemy despite the fact that they can't hurt you.

The only thing that really annoys me is that they didnt made this game future proof. Earning RC's is so hard if you dont have anyone renting your pawn, considering the playerbase is dwindling as of now. Other than that, BBI is so awesome, so brutal, yet so satisfying when you cleared it.

I bought the game in Steam a couple of years ago but stopped playing midway since I had finished the original version in PS3 years ago. I'm glad I picked it up back again last month. The BBI addition makes the game so much better. The atmosphere, tension and music, they're all so good. I've been listening to Daimon's 1st and 2nd form battle music non-stop now this past few days, lol I really hope the Dragon's Dogma 2 news is real because I need more of this! Great video, btw!

One thing I want changed for Dogma 2 is the retry option. They should just have it for main quest defeats where you can get soft locked. On regular defeats it should cut back to an inn/camp after a 'you got rescued'' cinematic. You lose some of your money and loot, as well as pawns that get downed during the fight.. That would make the game more of a risk vs reward adventure.

Awesome video. This might still rank right at the top of my list of all time favorite videogames. The Witcher 3 holds a special place, but I played DD:DA way more to be honest.
