I think it suffers greatly from having no new entries. at the time it was some of the best action RPG games out there but has since been overshadowed by new souls entries and MHW/rise. so while there was hype surrounding it at the time, other franchises stepped in and filled the void that it left. the fans that are left have played the game to death and only with the pc release did we see some renewed interest. that being said if they finally get around to making a sequel it would for sure be a hit

@@gruggedup9083 It's a niche title. It has a very very rough start. Like i hope you light fighting that wolf pack/ goblin pack 1000 times. Its also not "easy" to get used to the mechs of the game. Once you get by that the game is very unique by today's standards. The story honestly at this point is pretty cliche but god damn the gameplay is fun. Silly at times but epic most of the time. There's a large amount of player agency in the game which honestly is avoided in a lot of modern games. You can fuck up a build early on but its not gonna make you fail honestly but some people don't like that possibility. Weak intelligence characters cant carry as much as strong 2-hander wielding barbarians. Item management matters and sometimes change an entire class from meh to dear god this is busted. Its about the closest i think any game has gotten to the feel of DnD in a video game. That sense of what you do matters and the world has a lot going on if you explore and randomly find a strange cult doing dubious things. All that said the game is cheap on pretty much all platforms so worth picking up and seeing if you like it. It is a slow burn though.

Okay so quick story: A couple years ago when I was still in high school, we took this day excursion to Lille in France which is about a 2,5 hour drive from where I live. So we did the usual excursion stuff and explored the town and eventually me and my mate Tristan wound up in a toy store. I don't remember the name of the chain but it was huge and it had all these game demos set up throughout the store. One of them was for this exact game(Dragon's Dogma) and we got so into it that we legitimately spend 2,5 hours just standing there taking turns and getting absolutely wrecked by that goat/snake/lion thing in the demo. Problem was that we were supposed to be on the bus back at 6pm. We realised this at 7:15pm and when we did we ran back to the spot where we found the bus which had just been standing there waiting for us for like an hour and a half. We wound up with 2 weeks detention all because of this game.

Well, technically yes. Most of the classes can cruise through the main game, no matter how you level them, at least. You land on Bitterblack with a poorly leveled warrior, though, you're going to either have a very bad time, or you're going to watch a team of OP pawns do a lot of work for you.

Please make a video on the expansion Dark Arisen. Also sorry if my english is a bit broken but it's not my main language :)

I think one of my favorite things about DD that gets overlooked is how it's one of the few games that gets npc companions right. They're not complete jobbers that only exist to draw fire away from you nor are they completely broken to the point where you can get them to do most of the work for you. They're weaker than you sure but they're just the right amount of agressive and can be a threat if built properly. But more importantly is how they'll actually help you in meaningful ways, wether it's by healing you, grabbing enemies for you to wail on or wailing on enemies you grapple, taunt enemies away from you, saving you from enemy pins, giving you advice about monster weaknesses if they have the knowledge (even if it does get annoying after a while). There are actual moments in the game that make me go YEAH TEAMWORK even though I'm just playing with NPCs.

If they had multiplayer support for this game, oohh imagine the absolute FUN. Taking down monsters, going into dungeons and exploring together. The craziest part about this game is, even though its criminally underated, is the fact that it outsold capcoms expectations by a mile, they didn't expect it to be as popular as it was since they did literally zero marketing until its last week before launch where I saw ads on tv. I am still mad the online game never made it to the west and ended up closing down after few years, i wanted to play alchemist so damn bad lol.

@williambradd18003 жыл бұрын
It's a friggin shame that Skyrim's release completely eclipsed this game and most people didn't find out about it until maybe around DA or maybe it's PC release. I'm deadass surprised that Capcom pushed this game for so long, giving it ports to every damn system out now and even making an (awful) anime. They need to hurry with the sequel though.
