I've never been able to come to grips with his death. So many Robin Williams films are my favorite films. What Dreams May Come is my favorite film of all time. But I've not been able to allow myself to watch a single RW film since August 2014. I can't even explain it to myself all the reasons why and how his absence affects me so much -- I never met him or even came close to working with him. Perhaps it is because I've battled depression since I was ten and been suicide attempt survivor myself, perhaps it is because I've used humor to cover a multitude of ills, I don't know. But I do know that listening to this tribute song helps. It's nice to know somebody else out there feels a similar way about his loss that I do. Thank you for sharing it. It's very generous that you made this a free download when you and the vocalist clearly worked so hard on this project. You are an amazing musician and sound engineer.

Thank you so much for sharing all that. I'm sorry you've had to deal with so much. But im very happy to hear that this song meant so much to you. That makes it all worth it. Yes, I wanted to make sure it was a free download, cause it's not about making money, I don't want any profit from this. It's about sharing the emotions we all feel over the situation. Robin meant so much to so many people around the world. His loss is felt deeply. This is my way of reaching out to any one who has felt that loss. Thank you for sharing in that

Wow. Sorry, but it would appear Google is malfunctioning. It never notified me of your reply until about ten minutes ago. Thank you for creating this song. I have to tell you that the night after I first heard it, I was finally able to watch one of my favorite Robin Williams movies -- Hook. It wasn't at all traumatizing, the way I had feared it might become. Rather it brought back all of the warm fuzzy Christmas memories of my younger days. I don't know if it ever could have happened without this song. I'm happy that it's you who became instrumental in my re-initiation -- literally and figuratively. You have singularly brought the experience full circle, first having been a cast member and now....through your music.

+Rae Carson wow, thank you... I actually kinda needed to hear that right now... I'm very grateful my music was able to help you come to terms with it... Having worked closely with Robin on hook, I haven't been able to watch it... But then again I haven't seen that movie for many years... Making this song was still very emotionally difficult for me, as u can see if you watch the making of video... But I'm glad I did cause it helped me come to terms, and I'm very happy it's helped you too.

I....I...well, I was just kind of rambling...wow. :) I'm dealing with a lot personally and so reading this message from you struck a chord. Lately, I just feel like most days nobody would care or even notice if I just ceased to exist. I never knew a comment I made on a youtube video could mean a lot for someone else. Thank you again, Thomas. I needed to know this.

+Rae Carson your welcome, my friend. And thank you as well. I'm glad I was able to help, and be helped in return. I'm sorry to hear that you feel as though no one would notice if your life ended. I promise that's not true. I don't know the specifics of your situation, but I promise there's some out there who's heart would break if they lose you... I wonder if you would do me a favor , and by doing yourself a favor... On my KZbin channel there is a video I'd like for you to watch. It discusses this exact issue. It's called "in the wake of Robin Williams " ...if u have a few extra minutes, I bid you watch it... Thank you, and I hope your day improves.

God, every time I think about the fact that Robin isn't with us anymore my heart breaks. He is the first and only celebrity that has affected me in such a great way.

I have tears streaming and am slightly sobbing, missing a man I never knew. I'm so thankful that you shared your SELF with us, to allow us to join your in grief and celebrating the wit, intelligence, compassion, humanity and the man he was. I may not have met him but I have battled my own inner demons and I wonder if he was ever able to understand the impact he made- not as a comedian or actor- as the man he was, to the many who are able to see past the comedy and fame and see him as a person. Cherish your memories. Thank you for your gift. May your days contain laughter and smiles even through the dreary and mundane. 💜

Thomas, this was amazing. Just an incredible tribute to Robin Williams whom inspired so many, myself included. You have outdone yourself and although I'm not the spiritual type of person, I like to think that so long as we remember those we have lost, they are in part still alive in us, and I know that he will continue to inspire not only us, but countless generations to come.

Music was great, almost like one of those hair band ballads like G&R, etc. I didn't realize you could play that well. lyrics were a bit on the cheesy side, but heartfelt, and holds up well conceptually. I think maybe there's just too little for the imagination to work on. Maybe if it was a little less specific, a bit more cryptic, someone could listen to it and say to their friends after term listens or so when they comprehend it a bit deeper, "Hey! I think this is probably about Robin Williams" and then years later in an interview you'd admit "yeah, that was about him" this line refers to this, and that line refers to that." It just occurred to me that the specificness might be what makes songs cheesy, like the Christian Rock songs that re-purpose popular hits with a Christian spin, or songs that are written to forward a religious or political agenda. Most songs other types of songs are written to be kind of vague, allowing the listener to fill in the blanks to fit it to their own life. Like that song about superman from the 90s (actually there were two) it was using the relationship between Lois Lane and Superman vs the relationship between Lois and Clark Kent as a metaphor for a real-life relationship, but nowhere in the song does the singer come right out and tell you that that is what it is. Instead, The lyrics only hint at it, leaving it to the listeners imagination to discover. The other song used the perspective of Jimmy Olsen, destined to watch that relationship from the side lines, and never really have a chance at one himself. I'm not trying to diminish the effort and emotions of it. obviously I know where the inspiration for it came from and that's the part that matters the most. If it were my own creative effort though, I'd want a detailed critique. I also know from my own efforts that you usually have to trick people into telling you what you really want to know, and so that's why I go right for it. Too many people are too sensitive, and no one wants to risk hurting someone else's feelings. I guess what I'm trying to say is as an outlet for your Lost Boy emotions, and for us here that understand, it's a great song. For broader consumption though, it falls on the cheesy side lyrically, but knowing it wasn't written for broader consumption, that's perfectly fine with me.

Better & Better I understand what your talking about, one of my big inspirations for this was "American Pie" by Don McLean. It was about the death of Buddy Holly, but you wouldnt know that from the lyrics... it was, however, a conscience creative choice to be as specific as I was. I spent a year writing this song, the lyrics specifically, and I am very happy with them being exactly what I want them to be. they may be cheesy for any one who wasn't a fan of Robin, but many people, including myself, cried for a long time when he died. To those people, these lyrics will be be very impactful. I realize not every one will like it, but you cant always make every one happy.
