It's been years since we've had a genuine update on the Amazing World of Gumball movie after it was announced HBO Max was pausing production on it and dropping it from their upcoming slate. But with no definitive answer, it begs the question...is the Gumball Movie even still happening? Although there have been glimmers of hope, at least on the surface, there's way more signs pointing to the Gumball Movie and the planned new series have been cancelled in favor of season 7. Will the plot of the movie be remade into episodes, or will they ignore the movie entirely? Let's talk about it!

The sad part is that we'll probably not see a fully realized storyline with "The Void." Since that was the whole POINT of the Movie, and I'm guessing the end of that movie would lead into the new Season.

They could always pull a Disney Channel and put that storyline into the seventh season. Originally Adventure Time was more of a episode-by-episode show, but as they expanded on the lore, a storyline developed in the later seasons. The Gumball show already has traces of a bigger story hinted at in the show, especially in the Season 4 finale / Season 5 premiere. It would be a natural direction for season 7 to just become one whole story rather than a slice-of-life.

Gonna be real for a second, I feel like the Gumball Movie is still happening. In my opinion, it’s probably already finished production and they’re delaying it to come out closer to Season 7. Season 7 is a production that was greenlit under David Zaslav’s rule, at least I assume so since it doesn’t appear as if it’s gotten canned yet. David at least sees enough value in Gumball to not write off season 7, so I don’t know why he’d cancel the movie if it’s gonna promote something he hasn’t cancelled yet (meaning he and the executives see that Gumball season 7 has enough value to be kept around). At maximum, I feel like it gets potentially delayed to 2025, but at this point I refuse to believe the movie dies if season 7 isn’t gone yet. Plus the extended production time would make sense considering that it’s not connecting to the series anymore, and maybe had to be retooled a bit. Either way it’s too early to call it quits on the Gumball movie.

Someone said that the movie will come out when everyone forgets about TAWOG and I said the show is far to good to forget about, which in turn means that we will never get the movie, and that is why Cartoon Network is still showing TAWOG instead of TTG, because then they will never have to make the movie. I didn't know the Gumball movie was going to come out or that the Craig of the Creek movie did. It would be awesome if the Gumball movie was coming out. Also, I've been researching new Scooby-Doo movies coming or were going to and "Scoob: Holiday Haunt" was one of them. It sucks that it got cancelled. It got canceled because of cost-cutting measures and a refocus on theatrical films rather than creating projects for streaming.
