Totally agree! I dragged my trending health journal out last week after not using it for well over a year. I needed to reevaluate patterns, changes etc so I'm writing it all down and its seriously helping me to tweak and modify my management.

I am impressed that you can make notes and know what worked/didn't work and WHY IT DIDN'T WORK. Know the why is alway the million dollar question. Your gift of an analytical mind is a true gift.

Okay - I'm working on writing things down to find patterns. Will this work for a type 2 diabetic - I know, I know...of course it will. BUT, is there anything I need to know that will be different? I use once a day injection so I don't adjust per meal. I'm extremely active; maybe not as active as you, but pretty darn active for a 65 year old woman. I've done a Spartan and plan to do one again. I walk a minimum of 12,000 steps a day and lift 6 days a week, and run at least one 5k race a month.

Patterns are EVERYWHERE, even for T2D. The main difference is that you likely won't be watching meal time numbers for insulin, but rather for "reactions" to different types of food. I hope that helps!

What do you eat?

EVERYTHING. Just kidding - but I do have a pretty flexible diet since I follow our PMP protocol (personalized macronutrient profile). It's what we walk our clients through and ultimately we're looking for what blood sugar strategies are required in order to eat more of what you want, and what your body needs

You should do a Spartan race or maybe get on American Ninja warrior. I'm sure they are both easier than the iron man, but all the different challenges would be interesting.

Dear Matt, I would like to know your opinion on Dr Richard Bernstein method. He is 93 years old and was diagnosed with type I in 1946. He thinks is better to have low carbs and low insuline. Thank you!!!

Honestly, I think he and I are similar in our analytical approach, but I disagree with his dietary methods/rules. I believe in freedom and flexibility and "making" blood sugars cooperate to fit our life, not fitting our life into diabetes. I know he helps a lot of people though, and I respect that a ton. I hope that helps!

@@FTFWARRIOR thank you, but do you believe in that diet based on low carbs/low insulin? Makes sense or do you think maybe has more cons than pros? Best, you are a beacon between the tempest of this ocean we are.

@@ignaciogc9920 Honestly, it depends on the person and their goals. We help clients set up their "personalized macronutrient profiles" because everyones' needs are different. Some people thrive on low carb, others need them and it makes more sense to have higher carbs (like me). Happy to chat on a deeper level if you want to reach out to my team, maybe we have some resources that could be helpful: team@ftfwarrior.com

@@FTFWARRIOR you say that low carb and low insuline could create insuline resistance but that would be in case of high fats, what would occur in case pf average fats and low carbs? Likelyhood to insuline resistance disminishes. Nonetheless this is something each can prove on himself, I think that in your case 134 with 93%TIR doing Iroman is a very impressive achievement,by far. Congrats and thanks for the email address, I will write you. Best
